It would make sense or explain why in yesterdays article that Microsoft seem really uninterested in selling series consoles that much, with stock issues and no special deals in the UK over Christmas and new year.

Still seems a bit early 2026 but you never know in this day and age.

Went with an 8, will try on GPU of course.
Then I said that about Indy and Avowed and they both great games for me, which I play.

I think Doom will be Xbox big star AAA this year , I can’t see id not making a great Doom.
Then of course hope the COD campaign will be as good as last years or better.

I heard it was just over 50% on game pass subs on consoles, which is pretty good.
The worrying parts is all other billions of devices that can have some form of game pass, must be very low considering how many devices game pass can run on.

The reason most companies hide numbers, is because they are not good.

Just for fun, if Microsoft shut off consoles tomorrow and game pass with refunds and went all publisher, I would not be shocked just a little surprised and say, there you go 🤣

It’s all a bit weird behaviour by a trillion dollar company with more employees and system to enable stock not to be in short supply.
That’s why I say it’s intentional and get concerned over future Xbox home consoles.

If Sony or Nintendo had run low like this they would have posted a statement saying why and probably an apology as well.

This article is wrong.
There are zero SERIES S stock at Argos or Game.
So series s is affected stock wise in the UK.

And what idiot bought this up sometime ago and they posted an article on it back then. 🤣

Some retailers are saying stock April 2025.
That will be at least a whole month with no stock.

Also Xbox all access has stopped in the UK as well as of last week. So no bundle deal that was interest free with monthly payments. I thought it was a great idea.

This all starred back in late December 2024.
Sometimes you do have wonder what Microsoft are up to and give some like myself much doubt over a next generation under the TV standard Xbox home console.

What gets me is over 50% of game pass subscriptions are on Xbox consoles a good attach rate. Are thinking no more game pass in the future as well as consoles.

Looking at all the above Microsoft really don’t seem to want to sell consoles and maybe even consoles linked to game pass.

And the games keep coming for GPU
Then we have south of midnight and Doom.
Surely the second half will slow down a little of course COD and ninja 4 and of course and not GPU that little game GTA 6.

Avowed for me on series x this weekend.
I see Xbox all Access has been pulled from the UK last week.
Was a good way to buy series console and GPU for 2 years at a slightly lower price and interest free.
Was a nice option that the other two did not offer.

Interesting in the UK Xbox all access that got you a series s or x console and 24 months GPU paid over 24 months interest free has now been stopped.
They really trying hard not to sell consoles or GPU with a console.
Was an amazing option and deal for people being interest free paying monthly and always worked out cheaper than buying separately.

Definitely for Nintendo first party games.
Mario odyssey was amazing.
I shall wait and see what big Nintendo in house AAA release in 2025 before I jump in.
So much on Xbox GPU this year so far so much to play.

Switch 2 I was excited for thinking would release early 2024 or maybe September 2024 now I’m bored of waiting and the longer it goes on the less interested I am.
The main reason is that third party support will be all old PS4/xbox games that I’ve played already and probably won’t play as well performance wise. Especially if you included the Xbox one x.
First party I’m not sure what will release in 2025, looking like a Mario kart but if that’s the only really big one and no Mario or DK 3d platform game and just a 4K BOTW and some quirky game, then the Switch 2 is definitely not doing it for me in 2025.

Absolutely correct most main stores in the UK are totally out of Xbox console stock, Argos and Game none and Smyths Toys very little and restock date is April.
What a joke really that’s at least one month away and the UK is a big Xbox market.
And you think the daft buggers would realise Xbox consoles are the biggest game pass buyers as well.

Just imagine a current generation COD with new current generation engine.

If I was in business at Microsoft I would have to play the same cagey game, for the sake of Xbox consoles and game pass subscribers.
Else they could lose a lot of money.

Microsoft play this very close to their chest when it comes to the new games releases.
Yes Doom they have said is day one PS5 and of course COD is the deal that was done.
But other games like avowed, south of midnight and Fable, even though delayed they have said nothing.
Phil said they would say now, but there is a big but.
It really means we say when we are ready to tell you which means they could release Avowed and midnight and fable but not on release day on PS5 and say nothing. Then once released a few months later say the games are getting a Sony or Nintendo release in 6 months time.

The big reason to keep some Xbox console momentum and of course the big one game pass on Xbox console subscriptions, which is where over 50% of game pass subs are.

They not as open as we all think or they say they are. They are extremely cagey about it really, with new game releases.

I’m over this but still doubt a full home under the tv next gen Xbox.
I read an article the other day that Xbox are about a year behind Sony on the PS6.
Sony have their SoC sort of ready and Microsoft are not even at that stage and it is still in the balance. It did get the green light but not sure it what form or even if an under the TV pure home console as we know it.

I think it will happen if game pass stays off PlayStation and Nintendo as Xbox consoles have a high game pass subscription count.
But I bet a trillion dollars Microsoft want game pass on PlayStation and Nintendo and if that deal went through, there would no next generation Xbox standard home console.

Great game and really enjoying.
The only thing for me is mid distance foliage mainly really does fizz when panning around.
Must be the upscaling I think, spoils the mid distance look of the game.
Series x, performance mode VRR 120hz.
Tried some different settings but that dam fizz will not go away.
Is definitely the game as Indy never had mid distance fizz at all.

It’s all so simple and great value with GPU now the bigger games are rolling out and we even get COD every year.
Does make me wonder how much money when selling a new game without a subscription service a game actually makes.
I bet it loads more than they make out, so their excuses to increase prices and act all poor.
That’s mainly aimed at Sony and Slowtendo.

But I shall chill with my series x and enjoy the games for the next two years or so and see what pops up when it arrives.

Not my type of game, never clicked with me even after playing demos of the others.
Though watching reviews seems more accessible than the other games in the series.

You can complain about GPU at all what value for money as I play Avowed and look forward to south of Midnight and Doom etc.

I can’t help think one day Microsoft will really advertise GPU to the main stream general public big time. We know it’s out there along with Xbox consoles and the games are here and getting better and more but general public are sort of in the dark.

Well I’m stacked until March 2027 for £11.99 GPU so I can’t complain.
I have my reward points set on £5 auto redeem.

Avowed for me and as a game playing first person and really enjoying the gameplay, mechanics and modern systems.

Performance could be better, playing on series x set at 60fps VRR Dolby Vision and Atmos.
Getting some engine stutter sometimes and there is some noise/fuzz when panning on certain objects in the secondary distance.
It’s a shame as I reckon it could be sorted out.
Does spoil the game a little for me.
Playing on a top end QD Oled and other games like Indy are perfect so definitely an Avowed issue.

It is a simple memory for each game in quick resume to the hard drive. Just some data, but clever.

Please note that the January 2025 tracking period consisted of 4 weeks, as compared to January 2024’s 5 week tracking period.

I absolutely fine with the GUI now it’s fast and responsive and much improved.
If you use the triggers etc to move about quick it’s even better.
And of course QUICK RESUME is the best console feature this generation.

And this is just the USA, Europe/UK is probably worse for all consoles.
Even the mighty PS5 is down about 4 million in Europe compared to PS4 same time line.

Hobbies and habits are changing, I come from day one pong and it was all exciting as each new generation released, but look at this generation the diminishing returns are there to see and the increased price costs of buying the consoles, also mobile phones do so much more than when I was even 30.

After a few games last year that released with bad quality reviews SW outlaws etc, we seem slowly to be getting back to delays and releasing games of better quality and that is what should definitely happen.

Playing the same two games Avowed and NG2B on series x GPU.
All I can tell in the UK is they are replenishing stock not as quick as they should do but stock does arrive. That also tells me by looking that the stock does sell and run out.
I do wonder if instead of making new Xbox consoles for the UK, they could be redirecting stock from other European countries to the UK.

The Xbox consoles always do ok in the UK and sell ok. So there is definitely a UK and of course a USA market for Xbox consoles.
I have no numbers but I bet GPU sells good in the UK and only second to the USA.

I really hope we get a next generation home Xbox console like the series x but more powerful. But it must have quick resume a great feature.

Playing on series x and getting towards the end and trying to 100%.
But can’t say I have had any issues, just one lock up once earlier on.

Totally agree and a series x with GPU is now turning into a great option to own.
Of course there are many that can’t see past their fan boy nose to see this.

Now Xbox are motoring with GPU and game releases from their studios I’m a lot more happier and of course the best console is the series x and feature set and controller layout.

Lots of it is swapping with others and maybe selling to others or exchanging.
It’s not shop new only in the very odd occasion.
Also my uni son has a PS5 and Switch that bounces around from place to place. Also my nephews bounce their consoles about as well.
I’m from a large gaming family overall and of course I’m the oldest one 🤣 and the most daft.

Of course this is deliberate, but why? Seems a bit crazy to me as they do sell when stock turns up, and sell a console, sell a game pass subscription.

Really hoping Fable makes it this year 2025.
But we have a lot to enjoy if it slips to say March 2026. Especially if it does that extra time for polish.
I think with Indy, COD and Avowed Xbox studios seem to do the right thing and polish before release and that’s a very good thing.

This might be one of the games I buy outside of GPU this year.
But I probably don’t need it, time wise.

Only 3 hours in so very hard to judge.
All I give the game and systems within the game a 10/10 so far.
I’m possibly expecting a slight drop in score as I get more play time.
So I have not scored it in the voting system.
