Like the movies and theme parks and merchandise machine that Nintendo is.

Being the only true games company that Nintendo is, I really like to back them.

At least with Mario Kart world and Donkey Kong Bananza they believe in generations.

Xbox you should have taken it to everyone with the series consoles and exclusive games and gamepass.
The other two are no where near as strong games wise etc as they used to be.
After what I watched today for switch 2 it will be the first Nintendo console I don’t have day one since the SNES and that includes the Wii U.

I was dissatisfied as well but I didn’t want to be I really wanted something special.

Yes the mouse thing is weird, I guess we gonna have joycon mouse mats now 🤣 as I don’t play near a desk, silly idea.

As for the games MK World, no mention of the great online like in MK8, just roam the world and take silly photos with friends.

And DK not sure on that game, definitely not on first showing the standard I was wanting, but it may have some good surprises.

But yes underwhelming for me.

We had it at work with one of our cloud based softwares not working due to Azure being down.

I really don’t like cloud based software, so much slower than on PC hard drive or own company servers.

This crap future being pushed down our throats, similar to streaming games in some instances.

It will all be about Nintendo switch 2 and their in house games.
That is what will sell the switch 2 and definitely not Halo, they don’t need it for release day at all.
Also Nintendo make far more money selling their own games.

Shall wait for reviews before thinking about early access.
Which is all on the same day 3/4/25.

I get it, but they have a great product in the series x that is already designed in production etc. a bit of love for that wouldn’t hurt them.
Also considering it’s GP attached rate as well.

Not sure how well this is going to do.
But it won’t sell 32 million like the series consoles.

Which my point, with some advertising and thought and PR that 32 million could have been about 45 million by now especially with all the studios and exclusives they can have and lets not forget the more game pass sales with the Xbox console high attach rate.

Instead they are probably investing millions in this device and potentially another handheld in 2027, which won’t sell that well.

Should have focused on series consoles and appreciated and focused and respected what they have and got the advertising and PR correct.

Thinking about it the potential slower pace might suit my age now 🤣

Had some reservations when watching the gameplay reveal.
Obviously looking slower and different to the fast paced action in doom eternal.

Guess I will have to wait and see if the changes will suit me. But DOOM eternal was the tops for me.
So dark ages has a lot to do.

They could and should have stuck to their guns.
But there will be a cost to importing FH5 and Indy to PS5 and Pro. So let’s how many they sell as they will be looking for a return on investment, else what is the point of putting those games on another console, other than to make money.

Yep exactly why they will do ok ish.
But it won’t be some amazing revolution for Xbox studios.
They should have promoted Xbox consoles along with console game pass and kept exclusives apart from a couple of choice games like COD.
If they had done this from day one and performed with games like they are now series consoles would be tracking above Xbox one, easy.

Yes I have seen that, but that’s on preorders and depends what the competition is at the time.
Not saying they won’t do well, just not high ish millions.
Also they being sold at the right time, when Sony only manage one AAA game a year.

Think I can wait days for this, have Avowed and Atomfall entertaining at the moment.

Hope the games is solid and really good as looking forward to this one.

Now DOOM in May Day one will sell well on PS5, as it has been there before and has a very good following as a franchise on PlayStation.

I have at the moment zero and lots of shimmer or fizz in AC Shadows on Pro. Which reviews don’t mention.
I beginning to get more untrusting of reviews than ever.
Maybe it’s because I force the series x with 120hz and VRR on. But it’s a lovely picture and smooth panning.

Makes it easier in the settings as that always helps me.

FH4 was the best for me and the best in the series.
Also it runs 60fps full native 4K on series x.
No upscaling and fizz and rubbish that nowadays games have. Assassins creed shadows, Avowed and atomfall for a start.
Development has gone backwards.

Well DF have just recently done tech on assassins creed shadows, so I guess it was always gonna be a come down from that game.
Even from just the weather system and day night cycles, environmental weather effects and destructible environment, let alone ray tracing etc.
Atom fall is miles apart.

I’m all digital on everything now so it doesn’t bother me.
However they could have priced the series x discless a lot more competitive in the UK.
£429.99 compared to PS5 discless £389.99.

The crazy thing is when they do come in stock UK, they sell out within a week.
The interesting part is what they gonna do with game pass, as Xbox consoles have a very good attach rate.

The more I hear of Switch 2 the less impressed I am. Remembering I’m a docked gamer on a 65” TV. With a series x and a PS5 Pro.

Considering FH5 looks spectacular runs console wise on a 12tflop series x and Switch 2 at best when docked is 3tflop. I fined the switch 2 for any series x games a total waste of time.

Switch 2 hopefully will get some amazing Nintendo big AAA games on release day. But I even doubting that now. And think it will be flooded on release with old Xbox one and PS4 games. Total waste of time.

Game UK, now have pre-orders up for Xbox series x disc console. Release April.
Manufacturing and distribution is obviously now being very tightly controlled by Microsoft for the Xbox consoles.
Seems we are almost entering a make to order process with Xbox consoles.

Will be all very interesting if the new Xbox is a plug and play PC with steam etc.

Especially if by then all Xbox published games are day one on other consoles.

I can’t see who this new device is for, ok the must haves and a few more but not even a 20 million total sales worldwide device.

Am I right in saying we are feeling the next Xbox will just be a PC box/tower.

But we have that already with a PC with an HDMI output that connects to the TV, even my TV has a PC mode for it.

If so what’s the difference, just that it won’t be upgradable and have a Microsoft games UI when you turn it on.

They should come out with that then instead of stringing gamers and people along, about a potential next generation Xbox console.

Thing is we have PCs now so what’s the point of Microsoft making one.

I’m not sure what Xbox are up to with consoles.
But if they know and if they are not making a next generation home console like the series x the dam buggers should come out and say so.

I think they are being very mysterious about it, even though they have sort of mentioned they are in not so many words.

I really don’t trust them, and just look at their actions with games and now console stock issues.

Yay finally Smyths toys have some series x for home delivery, disc edition.
My pal is gonna to get one of them and join game pass Ultimate.
If it was not for me checking stock a couple of times a day in major stores it wouldn’t have happened for her or Xbox.

Have to be honest you summed it up all perfectly really and very well.
I just end up ranting 🤣
I also think the only reason a console is here is for GPU attach rate which is good.
Will they ditch it, I think they might as well, they don’t want to promote consoles or even stock them so if consoles go a lot of GPU goes or it will survive on PC and other devices alone.
And maybe one day on PS and Switch.

Might be crazy, but I do own I can assure you of that.
Just paid me £69.99 for assassins creed on PS5 Pro and just finished downloading about 106gb. Tried to start but the count down clock says 2 hours and 7 minutes to play.
So it will 12:00am UK time.

Will be enjoying tomorrow 😊

Just read your piece on Microsoft saying nothing bad.
You are so dam spot on sometimes.

That’s why that niggle in my brain says they are saying positive spin things and maybe in 2026 or 2027 they don’t bother with another home console, but currently they have to say it, to keep the spin good.

I see the European sales for Feb 25 have just been released. How can Xbox keep going with just 41K for the whole of Europe for a month.

And they really want to release another home console. I don’t get it. By the time say 2027 hits with possibly another Xbox next gen home console, Xbox consoles will be so irrelevant there is very little cost effectiveness and return on development cost return on investment.

You are spot on its game pass ultimate thats keeps a good few on Xbox consoles. It’s great value.
Without that and with Xbox games going to PS5 and Pro the best place to play there is not much point in an Xbox console.
Game pass is the glue to Xbox consoles.

Don’t get me wrong Sony are money grabbing bitches.
As where Xbox has cloud saves for all the family even if they are not the game pass owner they get it through you if they use your console for free.

Even if you have the top Sony subscription the cloud save is only for you the owner and not for others that use your console. What tight arses Sony are.

You definitely cannot beat GPU for value since the end of 2024 with Indy and COD and so far this year and what is coming.
I am new game only person hardly ever go back to old games, that’s why remasters annoy me.
GPU has started producing lots of new games now and is sensational value, there is no doubt about that.

Anyway, all console this and console that. It’s the games that count and the best they can be produced and displayed and performance for me.
Hence my massive passion for the Xbox one x.
What a console.

Now even that has changed with the Pro as Xbox one x and series x was the best performance experience. Now the Pro has that.

Then you add Microsoft putting games on PS5 then Pro becomes the best place to play Xbox games.

Then you think ok UK, I will go buy a console.
Lets go to Game UK no stock, ok Argos no stock, ok Smyths Toys no stock.
But we have Switch and soon Switch 2 and PS5 and Pro in stock.
It makes me so angry and frustrated 😩 with Xbox having no stock and please don’t tell me it’s not deliberate from Microsoft.
So what happens little Amy and Jonny end up with a Switch or PS5.
Xbox consoles become a smaller user base whilst the others grow and game pass then slowly slips away as well.
What sort of trillion dollar company lets this happen.
One that does not care at all about out loved Xbox home consoles.
