At this point, Assassin's Creed Shadows has been delayed multiple times and often quite close to the planned launch date - but the game is reportedly "pretty much done" and will not see another delay.
This information is coming from Insider Gaming, which exclusively reports that Ubisoft is "confident" of its March 20th release date for AC Shadows - and that marketing is about to ramp up for the incredibly important Ubisoft release.
"Of course, never say never of another delay, but Ubisoft has made preparations to increase its marketing of Assassin’s Creed Shadows ahead of its March 20, 2025 launch, including finalising the embargo dates for the games review.
Speaking with several developers working on the game, they said that they felt confident that it will be ready for its March release date, with one source stating that the game is now 'pretty much done'."
We say incredibly important because, well, there's seemingly quite a lot riding on this Ubisoft title. The French game maker has openly admitted that it's looking for further investment recently - and is even considering an outright sale amidst falling revenues. It appears that Ubisoft really needs AC Shadows to land well with fans.
Anyway, for now at least, Assassin's Creed Shadows is set to launch on Xbox Series X|S in just about a month's time, marking the franchise's first current-gen-only release. Nice, cant wait for this game. I have seen the updatet gameplay and i like what i saw. Will buy it day one.
I hope so. I keep having to move or cancel preorders as no point in buying a bunch of games day 1 I won’t have time to play if I am playing this game. Looking forward to getting my CE sooner than later. I will be climbing and jumping off of everything! This is going to be my definitive AC!

Good. I'm not sure I could have taken another delay lol! Cant wait to see what this is like. It could well be the best one in the series for me, bar Ezio's saga.
This might be one of the games I buy outside of GPU this year.
But I probably don’t need it, time wise.
Looking forward to this one. Lots to play so may wait for the traditional AC release time in the autumn but will definitely play through. Enjoyed every AC game throughout the series (to different degrees).
They could also just not say anything and provide a vague release window THEN announce it when it's ready. Fans man, just let these guys take their time & not feel pressured to rush a game out, their corporate overlords already put a ton of stress in them to make money not games
They say they have researched the history of the area, but nothing about the scenery, the clothing, or the people's lifestyles seems very Japanese.
I look forward to adventuring in UBISOFT's misguided perception of Japan as Mongolia or China.
