I gave up before then when my Elite 2 started drifting and went third party to get a hall effect sensor controller.

Any reports of how the game performs on Series S?

This comparison to the situation SEGA unfortunately found themselves in is becoming tiresome.

Not only were SEGA struggling financially and had no real choice if they were to survive, but the gaming landscape has changed a lot since then.

Have enjoyed this in short bursts, is a very well made game.

To anyone trying it out first time and struggling with the directional controls, there are two methods that can be used (changed through the options).

The default had me steering the wrong way so often, was a nightmare!

A handheld years after the S was introduced could arguably have the power of the S. If so, it could have a huge library of games ready to go.

Currently have a 512GB expansion card on a Series X - both are always full.
Also have an external 8GB that contains my entire library of digital games and it is also full.
To say I have a backlog would be an understatement.

Bit diffirent - Sony used their corporate cash to sell the Playstation at a loss to undercut the Sega Saturn.

Obviously that bullying the little guy tactic won't work on Microsoft.

Can't imagine MS be surprised or even disappointed by these numbers, given the recent advertising campaign essentially stating that a console isn't needed anymore.

They could easily resolve stick drift with hall effect sensors but have chosen not to, probably because there is too much money to be made from repairs/replacements.

There may well be an Xbox next gen - but if these poor console sales continue, 3rd party publishers may question if it's worth developing games for.

Just got it there - had to authorise the payment of 0.00 through my banking app. Bizarre, it never asks for authorisation normally.

As long as I can buy games comparatively cheap compared to Playstation, I'll stick with Xbox.

I'm locked in having built up a large catalogue of digital games this gen.

Can pick up digital multiplat titles at times half the price for new releases and older major titles cheaper still.

In Energy Saving mode, the Series X still uses power (0.5 watt).

Why does the fan seemingly randomly whirr for a few minutes, the disk tray clunk and an external usb drive power up?

There really should be a complete power down mode, rather than having to switch it off at the mains.

In fact wouldn't pay half that.
These days if I buy physical it's second hand, but mostly digital, because codes can be picked up usually ridiculously cheap.

Quick Resume is a decent feature and the Series X is also AI upscaling ready but as yet not utilised.

Not amazing, but still.

Agree regarding the controller.
I've even got stick drift with the Elite 2 and have now went 3rd party for a simple wired effort with hall effect sensors.

Great backwards compatibility and enhancement (a PS5 Pro is needed for that on PS), Dolby Atmos & Vision, development mode option, HDR, Auto HDR.
Edit: Not to forget 1440p and VRR (and with a good lower range)
