One of the biggest Xbox Game Pass surprises last month was Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders after the game was quietly inserted into the January lineup - and it seems that the development team has been enjoying a rather successful launch as a result.
Late last week, the Snow Riders team logged onto social media to reveal that 500,000 people have "taken to the slopes" in this new Lonely Mountains sequel - less than two weeks after its release. Xbox exec Sarah Bond then went on to congratulate the game for its "amazing launch".
We're assuming that the title's inclusion in Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass service has done wonders for the release getting half a million players in under two weeks - so, more power to them! Hopefully the studio is seeing good success from this influx of players so far.
As we move forward from January's XGP additions, we're still waiting on a full roadmap for the month of February. We know of two massive titles coming to the library in Avowed and Far Cry New Dawn, but beyond that, we're largely in the dark about February's lineup. Here's hoping Microsoft spills some more Xbox Game Pass beans later this week!

Not my cup of tea, but this is what’s amazing about Game Pass. The diversity of games on offer, some of which would otherwise be overlooked. Great stuff.
Good reminder to get back to this game, I played it at release day and enjoyed it but havent played since due to other games Im playing. For me this is a perfect game for those short 15 min sessions one might get here and there.
Have enjoyed this in short bursts, is a very well made game.
To anyone trying it out first time and struggling with the directional controls, there are two methods that can be used (changed through the options).
The default had me steering the wrong way so often, was a nightmare!
First game I've gotten all the achievements for in a long time. Great game. Good for relaxing, good for a laugh, fun with friends and solo.
I have this on the backburner to play when I have limited time. It looks like the perfect little pick me up when you don't have time to play something bigger.
It's terrific! I'm enjoying it at the moment as a "change of pace" game.
