It's time for another round of Pick One! This week, to celebrate the announcement of the Xbox Developer_Direct event happening on January 25th, we want to know which of the four confirmed titles you're most excited for.
Microsoft has revealed information about what we can expect from Forza Motorsport, Minecraft Legends, Redfall and The Elder Scrolls Online at the event, and while we're hoping we might hear more about some other games as well, nothing has been confirmed — so we're limiting this Pick One feature to just those four titles.
So, what's your choice? Remember, you can only pick one!
Forza Motorsport
"The team at Turn 10 Studios have been hard at work, bringing fans the next generation of Forza Motorsport, built from the ground up to take advantage of Xbox Series X|S. Forza Motorsport is back, and we can’t wait to share more gameplay and exciting new details."
Minecraft Legends
"Mojang Studios will showcase an insider’s look into the PvP multiplayer experience in Minecraft Legends – the upcoming action-strategy game from the makers of Minecraft. Developed in partnership with Blackbird Interactive and launching this spring, don’t miss exclusive gameplay footage at the Developer_Direct."
Redfall
"The minds behind Dishonored and Prey, Arkane Austin, will showcase several minutes of gameplay from their upcoming FPS. The Developer_Direct will reveal single and multiplayer gameplay, showing more of how you and your friends will take down bloodthirsty Vampires on the picturesque island of Redfall, Massachusetts. Fans can expect to learn more about combat, customization, bosses, the open world, and more."
The Elder Scrolls Online
"Studio Director Matt Firor will unveil 2023’s major Chapter update, including the latest regions of Tamriel to become playable in ESO, as well as a major new feature coming in the game’s biggest update this year. The Developer_Direct will be immediately followed by the full, standalone ESO Chapter Reveal Event, hosted by Zenimax Online Studios, which will provide all the in-depth details ESO players will be keen to know.
Let us know which of these confirmed Developer_Direct titles you're most excited to see!

Redfall is the only one I'm interested in.
Redfall is the only one. I don't like Minecraft, I don't play online games like Elders Scroll and I prefer Horizon over the track racing simulation. I find track simulation very boring. So I hope redfall is good, certainly looks good from what they have shown so far.
None to be honest. Not saying they wil be bad or anything, just not my kind of games.
Redfall but hoping for a surprise or two.
Redfall looks amazing.. I have never played minecraft before but minecraft legends graphics sure do look clean
Redfall all the way, the other games are really not my cup of tea...plus Im a huge Arkane fan.
Tie between Forza and Redfall. I'm more excited about the new Forza but it's not as much as an unknown quantity like Redfall.
No interest with Minecraft Legends really since we're getting Age of Empires 2 in a couple of weeks and Age of Empires 4 later this year too.
Forza Motorsport and Redfall are the one's I'm excited for the most. Never really cared for Minecraft and ESO.
I'm loking forward to Redfall the most.. Can't wait to see more about this game at the direct..
Hopefully Goldeneye!
Redfall, I suppose.
I don't get why Redfall is popular. It's just Fallout 76 with vampires.
I'm most excited to play the new Forza but Forza at the end of the day is going to be a Forza game.... I know exactly what I'm walking into with that one so watching gameplay isn't really needed.
So I guess the one I'm most interested in seeing at this event is Redfall. I haven't played deathloop or prey but I did enjoy Dishonored 1 & 2, however I'm not really all that sold on what they've shown thus far for this one. Hopefully gameplay will change that.
The new Minecraft spin off could be interesting to watch too. I don't really play Minecraft myself, only when I go see my nephew's but they're big into the game, they might be interested in this one, freshen things up a bit maybe for our game nights.
@Kaloudz ye finger crossed they don't just launch a couple of games and go radio silent again for another year or more like they did after Halo and Horizon 5. I'm not saying they need a game every month or anything like that but with all the studios they now own one big game every six months is a reasonable expectation I think.
Kinect Adventure & Kinect Sports
Wow, didn't expect so many votes for Forza with it being the sim version.
Looking forward to Forza Motorsport. Turn 10 does amazing things with their usual two-year cycle, I'm interested to see what they've been able to accomplish with the extended dev time.
Joking a side and a lot younger then and when the kids were kids we really enjoyed Kinect Adventures.
It’s when Xbox had something family wise and different, they also had that Buzz Game as well.
Something that took you elsewhere as a family.
Not that Sony advertise it but you can still play those mobile Knowledge is power games on the PS5 which the gang do still and is fun.
Switch has the usual MK8 and Mario Party.
Xbox could do with something like the above and what it had, something different and family and friends oriented and for some that don’t play video game as a rule.
Minecraft and elder online mean nothing to me, just being honest.
Forza don’t like track based games, I’m a FH big fan.
So that leaves Redfall, so if that is the showcase thing and all it has, not doing much for me I’m afraid. Maybe we might get a good surprise.
forza to play.
redfall needs to explain exactly what it is, right now people are split on how it will play.
genuinely more excitement for MHRise and AoE2.
i dont get 'excited' for something that isnt practically here.
Still don't know how interested i am in Redfall, so I want to see more.
Has to be Redfall for me.
I have 'no' interest in ESO or Minecraft Legends - neither will be on my 'play' list even though I do have Game Pass. Forza Motorsport isn't really 'new' or an 'unknown' as its the '8th' of a LONG running experience over multiple generations of hardware. Apart from 'upgrades' enabled by 'newer' hardware, whether its visuals, performance or even the 'physics', its unlikely to be radically different from any other 'Racing Sim' game.
Therefore, I am most interested in seeing more on Arkanes Redfall. I know I can play it entirely single Player - like you can Borderlands, so I am looking forward to seeing more about the Single Player experience, the story, the game-play etc. Of the 4 options, its the only one that I really want to see and hear more about.
@Fishticon erm...no it's not? If you played any one Arkane game before you'll know Redfall isn't even gonna be close to FO76.
That is a MMORPG, while RF is a co-op (or solo) FPS with all the usual Arkane trappings, like the powers and the ability to tackle objectives as you see fit.
So no, completely different things.
Redfall for me. Love Arkane Austin games. Prey was great. Was worried about co op dominating Redfall (not a fan of MP) but apparently it plays just fine as a sp game.
Redfall is the only game from that list I'm interested in, hence why il be skipping the direct.
Hopefully though at the end of the direct they announce the Starfield showcase date.
I am really interested in the minecraft game.
Forza Motorsport and Redfall
Redfall release date seems to have released prior to this show, not sure if you guys wanted to report on that or not, looks like May 2.
Just Forza for me. Refall isn't interesting to me, never was into Minecraft though the first trailer was intriguing. I like ESO but mmo combat and questing just feels dull compared to proper tes, and with starfield coming that kind of too much
@Fishticon It sounds more like what 76 was supposed to be but with vampires then what it actually was. I get it, red fall isn't for me either
To me the worst thing is that the "vampires" just seem like stylized zombies more than vampires. Ugh.
Redfall, since Dishonored Arkane has a perfect track record and I’m so glad they are comparing the game to something like Farcry instead of left4dead
Out of this batch of games I'm most interested in Redfall. I'm a fan of prey & a fanatic of DEATHLOOP so when Redfall was announced as an arkane Austin developed game I was intrigued. The thing I like the most though is that it's bringing an awesome looking co-op shooter to Xbox! I can't wait to hop in with some friends and explore an amazing looking mystery world filled with demonic vampires 😁🙌
Not interested in ESO or Redfall. Minecraft Legends looks interesting but probably releases too close to Pikmin 4 which looks a lot more interesting. So I picked Forza Motorsport in the poll.
@UltimateOtaku91 Now that’s what we all really want! I think that’s where a large chunk of the Xbox fanbase is at. If the Starfield showcase date is announced, that’s a positive. I’m honestly watching it, hoping for surprises. With Xbox, they tend to give exactly what they said that they would, and I think they said there may be a few surprises and that’s exactly what I care about. I like Arkane, but Redfall seems off. I hope the presentation proves me wrong. No interest in the other titles.
Not my kind of games unfortunately, but Redfall looks pretty interesting.
Kinda funny how much people aren't interested in more ESO. It's really very good, and I'm a TES super fan. But I can't get addicted to it for some reason.
Redfall is the one that I am most interested in, though that depends on the nature of the game. If it truly is something that I can play fully in single-player, then it will be my kind of game. If it is remotely like Left4Dead, then probably not, as I like to explore, not race from A to B whilst hoping to survive.
However, it is entirely possible that the game I will sink the most hours into is Forza, as the track-based version is my preference. It does entirely depend on what else is out at the same time though, as for me, racing will always take a back seat (forgive the pun!) to shooters and adventure games...
Redfall seems to have more in common with Far Cry and Borderlands than it does to L4D, B4B etc. According to the Devs, its an 'open-world' Single Player game set on a 'small' Island - similar to Far Cry, but like Borderlands, can be played in Co-op too.
Unlike games like L4D, B4B etc, if you 'choose' to play Solo, its much more like Borderlands in that you 'pick' your character and play through as them, never seeing any of the 'other' characters. You don't get 'AI' companions to assist if you don't play online, you are completely alone, completely 'solo'.
I don't enjoy playing campaigns/stories 'co-operatively' until I have at least played through Solo so I can go at my own pace, go where I want etc and don't have people talking through game dialogue. Therefore, I am very interested to see more on the Single Player experience most of all...
As a big fan of Overlord and Pikmin, I'm going with Minecraft Legends, and I'm coming at it not as a big Minecraft fan. Hoping the gameplay is what I'm hoping for.
My interest in Redfall is very low due to the Fortnite art style and tone.
@BBB That's interesting. I'm not much of an MMO player, bit eso always appealed to be as sort of a continuation of tes in a bigger, prettier world. But each time I go back to it it just feels bland and I feel like playing oblivion again instead.
I seem to remember at one time it had a quick spell bar across to bottom on console. Then last year I logged in and it seems like spells are bound buttons and it seems like there's less of them. I swore I had healing spells but when I picked it up after a while all my skills were reset for forced respec and I can't find the healing spells anywhere and the skill tree interface seems different and much smaller...... Am I making that up?
@BBB interesting. I was never super invested or overly high level, but I had sunk some time into the complicated build tree, and I remember a pretty elaborate ui panel for it, explaining the trees etc and I'd built up an ok sorcerer, bought the dlc packs, the merchant and banker you can summon etc. I went back to it and, not only is the ui for spells different, the skill ui seems gone and replaced with just the left side drop down panel and there's a lot less spells and branches it seems. I really just found myself confused and unsure how to even build and just walked away. Maybe if I regularly played I'd be more prone to understand the change but as a rare casual I'm just lost ever I pick it up.
Tried ffxvi but I still don't get the praise for it. It feels like a pc MMO from 2001, with the worst ui ever if you're not using a mouse and keyboard, Ave the most dull fetch quests ever.... Even new eso might be better than that!
The one that's not there but out of those I'm looking forward to seeing Forza, I need another good racing game and I hope they don't limit its RT potential on PC as Xbox games can be a bit disappointing in that regard. Redfall is another I'm curious about as well and I hope there's some nice surprises
Motorsport is the only title I'm interested in.
Maybe Redfall will interest me more than I think..
