Xbox has slowly improved its JRPG offerings with the likes of Dragon Quest and Tales, but there are still some classic series' missing. With this in mind, the Grandia HD Collection will finally be making its way across to Xbox on March 26.
The first title started life on the SEGA Saturn in 1997 and the sequel was originally released on SEGA's Dreamcast in 2000.
This updated collection is comprised of two updated titles: Grandia HD Remaster and Grandia II HD Remaster. To add to this, Limited Run will also be offering physical copies, with pre-orders kicking off later this week on March 15.
The hard copy of the game will come with a reversible cover and three art cards. Here's a bit of backstory about these games, courtesy of the Xbox website:
The highly-anticipated Grandia HD Collection for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S are here! Get your hands on two games that changed the landscape of RPGs forever, in beautiful HD graphics.
GRANDIA: Dive into the captivating journey of Justin and his allies as they race against the sinister Garlyle Forces. Unravel the mysteries of a forgotten civilization and immerse yourself in an RPG hailed as a timeless classic, inspiring generations of games to come.
GRANDIA II: Step into the shoes of Ryudo, a jaded Geohound with a heart, as he embarks on a magical quest alongside a group of unlikely allies. Their journey is riddled with twists and turns as they seek a divine weapon to save the world. Delve deep into this tale where the line between good and evil blurs, and everything is open to question…

@CutchuSlow grandia 2. was a sega dreamcast game. grandia 1 was sega saturn.
welp. guess i'll be getting these yet again. i have a soft spot for grandia games.
I remember beating Grandia 2 on ps2, must have been about 20 years ago. Poss 22 years. Don't remember much else except I enjoyed it. Will prob pick this up. Rose tinted glasses?
Wild Arms collection next?
@el_pieablo
Think they are Sony exclusives.
Although an Evolution collection may not be out if the question. Loved those on Dreamcast and Gamecube. There was one for neo geo pocket as well. Never played that one. Don't know who holds the rights for these titles.
Def looking forward to this. Played these back in the day on Saturn/Dreamcast and really enjoyed. So I’ll take the trip down memory lane via HD
I have never played them but they look nice and I'm happy to see so many classics coming to Xbox lately.
@el_pieablo Similar to you I first completed Grandia II around 20 years ago. I've had the remastered version on Steam for a while and recently played a little bit of it, it's still a fun JRPG but dear god the voice acting is so much more cringy when you're an adult.
The music is still brilliant though.
I played I, II and Xtreme back in the day. Great games, and I have fond memories about the first one. Never played III at the PS2 for different reasons at the time; or the (english patched) GBC Parallel Trippers.
I'm glad to see the title on Xbox. Buying it for sure.
I remember one on ps2 Mark Hamil did a voice in
Just only recently started my second play through on my Dreamcast, great game but second to Skies of Arcadia in my opinion.
Great to these coming to all players soon. Xbox doesn't get enough love from jrpg makers and it's nice to see this being turned around
@Chinesus I'm 44 now so prob even more cringy
@el_pieablo
Sony IP so if they did, it'll be PS5/PC.
Hello there fellow gamers,
Man, this games were my childhood on both PSOne and Sega Dreamcast back in the day.....
And just like @el_pieablo and @Chinesus mentioned, the voice acting is still very cringe....
Wich is kinda part of the game´s charm, I guess.
But these are two rpg gems from the past.
Great to see them on Xbox and Playstation.
Cheers and happy gaming to us all
Was wondering when this story would appear
Anyway, happy to see these finally coming!
Have these on switch but I will happyliy double dip, Grandia 2 is one of my favorite RPG's ever. Love the attack animations in that game for the special moves.
Since this has already been out for ages elsewhere, it should really just come to game pass, or at least be heavily discounted. Kinda nuts to sell it at full price. Then when it doesn’t sell, people can say “RPGs and Japanese games don’t work on Xbox”. Sort of a negative feedback loop.
