Re: Xbox Settles Lawsuit With 'Gamers' Who Tried To Sue Over Activision Blizzard Deal

@WildConcept6 judges in the United States have the ability to throw out frivolous lawsuits quickly if they see the claims are baseless and ridiculous. This is one of those cases that should've happened. And yes, while we will not know what the settlement entailed, as you pointed out, it does give that appearance of a payday for others. You know who rarely settles? Nintendo. They understand the importance of protecting their IP and setting a precedent that if you come at them with baseless claims, it'll hurt you a lot. It is worth the cost to the company IMO to protect your brand. Settlements can come across as admissions of guilt publicly, whether true or not, and like I said, invite more absurd claims. I still think the judge failed the most in this case though by not tossing it immediately, as it's so obviously silly to anyone with an ounce of reasoning skills.

Re: Report: Ubisoft Is Considering A Buyout From Tencent & Partners

@101Force Do you understand what "on top of using profits" means? BTW do smartphone games, with terrible practices, that we core gamers hate make a lot of money? Not everything that makes money is great for gaming and plenty of that going on with Tencent... But keep talking about shareholders and the Hong Kong stock exchange and "so your saying" things that I'm not at all saying...

Re: Report: Ubisoft Is Considering A Buyout From Tencent & Partners

@101Force It's safe to assume that they'll be interested in propagandizing and information harvesting like they do in other entities of theirs on top of using profits to fund them. This isn't exactly great news for Ubisoft gaming future if it goes down as the Tencent monster sucks up more companies...

Re: Microsoft Says Native Xbox Cloud Gaming App Remains 'Impossible' On Apple Devices

Trmn8r

@dskatter @GeeEssEff You realize they aren't selling any games on Apple right? 30% of Microsoft's Game Pass subscription revenue just for a native XCloud streaming app when it is predominantly used on the Xbox console by an incredible margin is absurd. Microsoft said they should be charged similar to a Netflix type streaming service, not charged like they are selling an iPhone game... You think Netflix takes a 30% overall revenue hit just to be able to stream on iPhone?

Re: Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 Will Require A 'Continuous' Internet Connection (Yes, Even Campaign)

@smoreon Again, look into how XCloud works. It could be a lot more than just a drop in the bucket if you understand that. You are focusing on the transfer speed of the internet alone and not the processing power of the hosted server that is sending it. Cloud based computing is coming to the mainstream. I don't mind it as long as it improves the game. We will find out on this hybrid form this fall.
