I honestly think Microsoft should abandon the Activision purchase. If they can't even get CoD exclusive nor even more importantly, on Game Pass, it's not going to help them much. They would be better off spending that money elsewhere.
Let's be honest, Xbox One is the reason it won't come out. They should've never made it for Xbox One in the first place. And with how poorly they've managed their time as far as MP content, they clearly should've kept it Series exclusive.
Local co-op has 0.0% impact on me as split-screen is not something I (nor most people) do anymore unless it's a quick game like Mario Kart. What is more frustrating is their excuse that they don't have the time to do it. Well, they sure haven't been doing much this last year, so where is all that time going? The gross lack of multiplayer content is ridiculous. No excuse to not have more maps. 2 maps! 2?!?!? That's it?!?! Insane!
Time management is a "management" issue. I know one higher up stepped down from 343 for other reasons, but they seriously need to clean house on the management staff there. It's just inexcusable.
@Texel There are differences between a corridor shooter and an open world game as far as resource usage. But agreed that every game should be at least hitting a baseline of 60fps.
@Fenbops Lol that would be industry suicide for Xbox to do that. That is a terrible idea. Devs have to scale down all the time for PC. Most still say S isn't a problem. There are a select few that do. I think some just don't like that it is more work. But these devs need to realize that the lower price point of the S brings in more consumers of their games. Xbox isn't going to just screw over S owners and go with your idea. That would probably kill Xbox as a whole if they pulled that stunt.
I Am Fish is hardly a next-gen game and I don't hear complaints about the PC versions that are required to scale much lower than the S if they want a wide audience.
@Dr_Luigi There was a lot of "new technology" touted that were unknowns with this, however. The SSDs were cutting edge at the time and the new "Xbox Velocity Architecture" they said wasn't even implemented at launch. And yet, we are not seeing it's fruit to this day. Yes, the graphics card itself left questions. But they definitely alluded to the possibility of it through the use of these other means and it appears to have been a lie for the most part. Sony played much of the same game with their own gimmicks. This was marketed as the 4k60 with RT generation. And it obviously, isn't the case. I think the hardware leap this generation is more of a half generation leap.
60fps/Raytracing is sadly an either/or for 95% of games this generation (So, basically no Raytracing this generation cuz once you go 60fps you can't go back to 30fps for most games). The graphical leap we were promised was a false one...
@somnambulance we didn't miss out on Babylon's Fall yeah. But they actually do have a good pedigree: Neir Automata, Bayonetta, Astral Chain, Vanquish, Wonderful 101, MGS Revengeance, Madworld.
I'm actually surprised no one has mentioned this, but what has happened between Platinum Games and Microsoft?
SCALEBOUND!
Microsoft pulled the project late and that was Platinum's last partnership with them. Can't say that hasn't had a significant level of impact on their relationship.
Nintendo has also been funding and publishing most of their recent efforts Astral Chain/Bayonetta 3. As well as Sony/Square on that disaster Babylon's Fall made be their C squad.
@BartoxAbrasiveness They are obviously using Sony's stupid logic in their argument against them. Sony was complaining about this first and Microsoft is simply throwing it right back in their hypocritical faces. Not hard to understand.
I wouldn't recommend backing anything on Kickstarter. They have absolutely zero buyer/investor protections whatsoever. People can take your money run away, give you no updates for years and Kickstarter will not refund you. Kickstarter claims the developer has to complete the product and give regular updates or they have to refund you. But I literally have products I've kickstarted over 4 years ago that haven't had any updates. I reach out to them and have no response. I reach out to Kickstarter and they claim I have to reach out to the developer or wait until they fulfill it... But they sure are fine taking their cut of your funding themselves. This game didn't get enough funding through KS and found a publisher to partner with. Regardless, I've been burned too many times on Kickstarter to ever support those scammers again.
Nothing like playing the victim while sitting on the throne from Sony. "Oh no! This move would benefit Microsoft and hurt us!!??!?!" Well no shizz Sherlock! Why wouldn't Microsoft do a move that makes them more competitive? That's the entire point! Just can't believe how dumb these people are that are delaying ruling on this. That, or they are just power tripping and enjoy flexing on big corps.
@UltimateOtaku91 Quest is the Nintendo Switch of VR. It has its own built-in OS (No cables required). No need for PC at all and carries versions of most VR games. But it can stream exclusive games like Half-Life Alyx from PC as well wirelessly or through a cable.
Should've been an easy approval everywhere. Even after this acquisition, Microsoft is still a close 3rd in market share behind Sony at 2nd. Meanwhile, no one gives a crap that the CCP owns the highest market share (via Tencent)... Sony's argument is that it'll hurt them. Well of course it will! What do you think all your paying devs to prevent them from going to Xbox does to Microsoft? It's called competition and Sony is mad that they have to compete now and can't just walk to the podium as usual. It's totally obvious that there is no monopoly at play in the acquisition, not even by genre. So, it's just governments flexing their power and being a nuisance because they can at this point...
@Joabra01Swe There are some types of games where 30fps is no big deal. But an FPS, 60fps should be the new standard. Very disappointed though that Raytracing might as well not even exist this generation considering almost every dev makes it and either/or situation with either 60 fps or 30 fps RT...
This looks spectacular! Explains the sudden dropoff with Battlefield quality... The destruction is insane and hello GOO gun from Prey! Can't wait to try this
I moved on to Scuf Instinct Pro. Disappointing to see they refuse to make quality of life changes that this controller needs (Built in rear buttons, joystick caps that don't fall out when pressed hard, early drift issues, trigger clickers vs physical trigger stops, hand grips that are prone to peeling). They needed a new iteration for this generation and instead we got a gutted version of the Scuf 2 with removed features that practically, defeat the entire purpose of it...
Schreier is just upset he wasn't the one to be able to leak it. So now, a guy who literally makes his living off of leaking game info is talking up how bad it is for the devs when leaks come out... Oh please...
Shame they went GAAS with this game... Now, I've heard of failing games going F2P. But, this could be a real case for the opposite. Here's hoping Forge can save it. If they really open up the ability for the community to create and share, it could be big. If you can't support your game with content, let the fans create it.
@uptownsoul Two things can be right at the same time. I can be disappointed in something while still saying it's a good value. I know you are desperate to draw your conclusion a different way though, which is why you kept re-asking the same question... Lol, you guess our expectations are different? No, they are obviously different.

@steve_mcsteve They probably could've done the multiplayer on it. But they prob shouldnt have done the campaign on it, being open world.

If CoD will essentially, never come to Game Pass, might as well not even buy Activision anymore and buy something else.
