@xxk7xx - Sorry dude but you're wrong. It absolutely is not based on the 360 version, I have around 3k hours of OG NG2 playtime behind me and know every inch of NG2 backwards. This isn't that. Not even close.
PC modders have already pulled it apart and the code base is Sigma 2. The cut boss fights from Sigma 2 are still in there and have been made playable on PC.
I guess people forget that MS have been doing this for decades. The 360 dashboard was polluted with non gaming ads. Especially when the 'Metro' box dashboard came along. It was full of this crap, back then they were auto play flash video ads with the volume set to 100 decibels.
Everything from Lynx/Axe deodorant to pet insurance and bananas. They ran a fish finger ad for months here in the UK. Complaining didn't work then, it won't now.
@ScoTTieDLighT - Metro 2033 and Last Light are both playable at 120fps on Series X, they're 1080p but the image quality is excellent. Definitely recommend playing them in release order.
Really hope that 'and more' includes a MSR remaster. We all know Microsoft will never greenlight anything PGR but Sega still own that original IP. Make it happen Sega!
@MrMagic The man behind it is John Johanus and he's very much still a part of Tango. Shinji Mikami greenlit Johanus' pitch but had nothing to do with making HFR.
Reboot, maybe. GoW like reboot? Absolutely not. Those games are awful GoW games, Sony are so creatively bankrupt they basically shoehorned Kratos and Boy into The Last of Us: Uncharted the Kratos Edition and called it a reboot.
@InterceptorAlpha I played Arkham Knight recently for the rewards points and was genuinely shocked at how bad it looked. I've seen sub 720p games on 360 with better image quality than AK.
@Kaloudz I've only played slightly past the area where you meet the pirate crew. Really enjoyed what I played but fell off it due to Lies of P taking over my life lol. Definitely need to get back to it!
@Kaloudz I would think that's a thing but Sea of Stars was day one on both GP and PS+ so who knows lol. I wouldn't bet against Teardown being added to GP at some point though.
Considering Unpacking and Vampire Survivors only entered the GP Core service in September it seems unlikely they're leaving anytime soon. Now watch this comment age like milk!
@cardcrusher29 Not crazy at all, I use my GP sub the same way but also account share with my brother who lives in a country where game rentals are illegal.
Beat the first 3 bosses and enjoyed what I played so far. Few nitpicks though, parry window is a bit hit and miss, I know it's a hold for perfect parry rather than tap but it just whiffs entirely sometimes. Some very dodgy hitboxes and occasionally woeful input lag. Nothing a patch or two can't fix, it's a great effort for a first attempt at the genre.
@Tintin I fully get where you're coming from, I'm 52 and definitely feel the drop off in reaction times but this isn't a twitch shooter, sure it's reaction based but you're up against readable foes with set patterns, not an unpredictable 14yr old pumped full of sugar.
@FatalBubbles The 1mil players was pre the GP launch and based on purchase of the early access version/upgrade. Also it hit those Xbox numbers separately from the PC version which also had 1mil buys of the early access version.
Edit - My bad, I confused concurrent with overall players, brain farted. Still, it posted very impressive pre release player counts. See 6:10 of this video.
Really wanted to like Solar Ash but the character control absolutely sucks for a momentum based game. Considering Hyper Light Drifter's controls are pinpoint accurate it came as as a huge disappointment.
As someone who played both JSR games day and date, and put a lot of hours into them, Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is exactly what I imagined JSR3 to be. It absolutely nails the feel and tone of the games that inspired it (camera jank included lol), and does just enough to be it's own thing. Great homage!
@Xbox_Dashboard They were delisted over a year ago due to licences expiring for some historical video footage used in the games. Konami must have renewed them for this collection though.
Can't wait for this to drop. As much as I'm looking forward to Starfield it can wait until Christmas and all the inevitable post release patches have come out. This will be day one for me, already seen enough gameplay and reviews to know it's in solid shape. I've not been this genuinely excited for a game in years!
@kiwisoup I'm not getting bent out of anything. I'm simply correcting the 'only 2D games work' angle you're pushing.
As for games IN THE ARTICLE, it's a cherry pick of a much larger list, you may well be correct that those listed don't emulate well but to blanket statement they are 3D so won't work is wrong.
And fwiw I don't pirate anything, I only dump and emulate games I own. I live in a country that grants me non distribution copying and/or backup rights and ownership of all purchased digital media.
@kiwisoup 18% is still well over 300 playable games and over 100 of those have no emulation issues whatsoever. The point was you claim that only basic 2D games are playable not 3D ones which is factually wrong.
OG Xbox playing PGR2 Cat and Mouse on Nordschleife. It wasn't even an official game mode, just something the community invented but was so successful that Bizarre made it into an actual mode in PGR3. Happy days!
@kiwisoup 'Xbox 360 emulation is not up to snuff yet. Only very basic games with 2D graphics are playable currently'
That's way off the truth. There's an extremely successful Xbox 360 emulator out there that runs hundreds of 3D 360 titles just fine, including all the major ones in the Halo and Forza series.
@nickwpearce As someone who's spent almost 30 years reverse engineering software, I can tell you that it is that easy, relatively speaking. It's very cost effective, isn't prohibitively difficult and takes a lot less time and money than rebuilding a lost code base from scratch.
Always cracks me up when I see a 'lost code' article. If the game shipped then the code is safe. Just go to ebay and buy a copy, then reverse engineer that.
BluePoint Games built their reputation on quality remake/remasters by reverse engineering retail code.
@Cashews How did it make things worse? XBL brought us matchmaking with a dedicated lobby system, friend lists, ingame voice chat/party chat as well as direct messaging.
Yup, I've done this loads of times, usually for a console launch but I've done it for certain games. Took a week off for OG Xbox and 360. Took 2 weeks when Alan Wake and RDR came out a few days apart. Every PGR game, Ninja Gaiden 2. I'll be doing it when Alan Wake 2 drops.
Anyone that uses inverted Y axis note that it's not an option in SH: Homecoming. You can invert the shooting controls but not the actual game camera. Not sure if you can remap the stick inputs at system level but the game itself doesn't support inverted Y axis.
With the exception of P5R which held it's price for a while, most Sega titles drop price at about the same pace as Ubi's games. Just another addition to my I'll wait thanks list. Never paid £70 for any games and don't intend to start with a Sega game.
Just watched MrMatty's review and wow. That dude is a dyed-in-the-wool Arkane and Xbox cheerleader but when Matty gives a don't even bother, even on Game Pass verdict then you know something is seriously wrong!
@Bartig You can adjust everything to suit, combat/puzzle difficulty and exploration help can all be tweaked. You can also set invincibility for Benedict. None of these settings will lock you out of earning achievements.
Played a few hours of Benedict Fox, performance mode on XSX on a Sony Bravia without VRR and no stutter or frame rate issues whatsoever. Only complaint is the audio can pop and fizz occasionally, other than that it runs just fine.
@SyCoREAPER Kid? I've got jeans older than you sweetheart. You post direct insults at me then run away. Quite obvious who the child is here. See ya champ.
@Lavalera Yeah, Far Cry it ain't! As I mentioned, I really enjoy walking sims so I had a great time with it for the story and side missions and just wandering around in the superb atmosphere of abandoned Shibuya, the overly excessive collectible hunt, not so much.
The thing to keep in mind before jumping in is that first and foremost, Ghostwire is a walking sim above everything else. Think Everybody's Gone to the Rapture with some very basic FPS combat. I was totally fine with that as I'm a fan of the genre but if you aren't then it may well disappoint.
You'll spend roughly 10 or so hours in campaign and side missions and if you intend on getting the full GS you'll spend a further 40 hours finding collectibles.

Ryse and that wasn't exactly great but it's an easy pick due to that list being mostly abysmal and filled with 360 re-releases.

Quality screenshot, didn't realise it was a 360 game..

P5R isn't a huge loss, like the Yakuza games it's a Sega title that will bounce in and out of GP forever.

Nope, it's still PGR.
Re: Michael Gambon, The Voice Of The Prophet In Elder Scrolls Online, Has Passed Away

OG Xbox for PGR, even though it was basically a remaster of MSR which I had on my fairly new Dreamcast. GameCube for Killer7.
