After multiple MGS previews began doing the rounds yesterday, questions started to arise surrounding the collection's technical details - especially on current generation consoles. In response, Konami has come out and confirmed the resolution and frame rate targets for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Master Collection on all systems (thanks, VGC).
On every platform except Nintendo Switch, the game will run at 1080p and 60FPS - those figures apply to both Xbox Series X and Series S. Switch users are looking at 1080p/30FPS in docked mode and 720p/30FPS for handheld play.
While these Xbox resolution figures aren't quite the full 1440p or 4K that they perhaps could have been, this news does at least alleviate those fears that we might have been looking at a 720p presentation on Xbox. Thankfully, all current-gen consoles are at least hitting full HD; 1080p.
The first three Metal Gear Solid games make up this collection, although as we pointed out yesterday when fresh video footage dropped, Xbox players can always look at grabbing MGS1 on its own to pair with the current Metal Gear Solid HD Collection that exists on Xbox 360 and modern Xbox consoles via backwards compatibility.
