After multiple MGS previews began doing the rounds yesterday, questions started to arise surrounding the collection's technical details - especially on current generation consoles. In response, Konami has come out and confirmed the resolution and frame rate targets for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Master Collection on all systems (thanks, VGC).
On every platform except Nintendo Switch, the game will run at 1080p and 60FPS - those figures apply to both Xbox Series X and Series S. Switch users are looking at 1080p/30FPS in docked mode and 720p/30FPS for handheld play.
While these Xbox resolution figures aren't quite the full 1440p or 4K that they perhaps could have been, this news does at least alleviate those fears that we might have been looking at a 720p presentation on Xbox. Thankfully, all current-gen consoles are at least hitting full HD; 1080p.
The first three Metal Gear Solid games make up this collection, although as we pointed out yesterday when fresh video footage dropped, Xbox players can always look at grabbing MGS1 on its own to pair with the current Metal Gear Solid HD Collection that exists on Xbox 360 and modern Xbox consoles via backwards compatibility.
What do you think to these Xbox figures for the upcoming MGS Collection? Let us know your thoughts.

Kinda hilarious that they are just openly touting MGS 2 & 3 as the HD versions when the back compat version of them goes on sale for 5$ constantly. Even still, I'm hyped to get MGS1 on a modern console finally. Even as janky as it is by today's standards.
@Xbox_Dashboard Metal Gear Solid 2, MGS 3: Snake Eater are delisted on 360 on Microsoft Store.
@Snake_V5 that must be recent. Smart tho and explains a lot.
Not a great way to present such classics...
1080p60?
One of my PCs is nearly a decade old and can do 1, 2, and 3 at 4k,144fps.
What's going on here?
And how does this effect those that already own the HD collection?
LOL what a joke. This is just lazy porting plain and simple.
Can't even port a bunch of old games to XB1.
I suspect a horrible port and horrible reviews to follow.
@Xbox_Dashboard They were delisted over a year ago due to licences expiring for some historical video footage used in the games. Konami must have renewed them for this collection though.
Isn’t the existing MGS2 and 3 HD via BC running at 4k?
@Xbox_Dashboard
They have been gone for a while actually.
@Xbox_Dashboard @Snake_V5 Lots more games have been delisted recently I've noticed, like Unreal Championship 2, Armed and Dangerous, a few Splinter Cells, to name a small few. Very worrying... 😰

May I refresh your memory ? When Metal Gear Solid HD Collection launched on xbox 360 , bluepoint lied saying that this "old" collection was in 1080p resolution... in fact it was 720p !!!
We will see with this "new" collection. Shame they didn't try to port the PC version of MGS1 with HD textures... just saying...
