Well, today's a good day to be a SEGA fan! It was announced at The Game Awards 2023 that SEGA is currently working on five new games for the Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, Streets of Rage, Shinobi and Golden Axe franchises.
There aren't many details to share yet, but we'll throw what we have down below - along with the trailer above.
"New Era, New Energy! New games from Jet Set Radio, Shinobi, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, and Crazy Taxi - now in development!"
Which of these are you most excited to play? Tell us down in the comments section.

Hopefully the Jet Set Radio is open world setup like the superior, Jet Set Radio Future, was.
Oh man! HYPEEEEE.
Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, & Shinobi are big surprises. After Streets of Rage 4 was done and recieved so well alongside the revival of Beat 'Em Ups in general, another one and a new Golden Axe are not as surprising, but still, amazing news.
I feel like Bombrush Cyberfunk perfected the original JSR/JSRF style and gameplay (music is pretty equal between all games, just personal preference), so I'm glad they're going with a new look here. Can't wait to see some gameplay. Been waiting 20 years for this day!
Finally! Welcome back Sega!
This was a highlight so far
This was way beyond my expectations!
VF6 can wait for a bit, a lot to be excited for at the moment
SEGA went full crazy.
What the heck is going on.
Man I was only expecting one game and expected it to be VF6….buuuut man I’ll take 5 unexpected games of this calibur 🤙
FINALLY.
Seriously, as a longtime Sega fan, who loved the Dreamcast era, you have no idea how happy this makes me. I have been waiting a LONG time for this.
Call me stubborn, but Crazy Taxi needs that Offspring sound track!
I honestly think this was the only thing shown that truly excited me to play. Xbox once again overhyped to tune in and didn’t really have wow announcements outside of showing HellBlade 2 which looked insane.
Ain’t gonna lie, I thought this was the best announcement. I’m a sucker for those classic Sega games.
That just UNEXPECTED. Well done, SEGA! Looking forward to modern iteration of JSRF.
Now this is a trailer I can get excited for, easily the best announcement of the show
Now that... is what I've wanted to see for a looong time!
@shonenjump86
My thoughts exactly.
Yes massive win, Sega making Sega games again who would have though it. All of them look like must haves, epic. Well done sega, getting back to the old school. Pumping and fresh looking, bursting with Sega energy. Looking very to all of these
@shonenjump86 also loved this reveal, 5 great series “and more” all returning. Fingers crossed
I’m disappointed Panzer Dragoon wasn’t included in these retro IP revivals. That series has such potential, the world building is exquisite, still feels unique all these decades later.
One of the highlights of the whole year! That means that Sega is not focused on Sonic exclusively and we might see Panzer Dragoon, Skies of Arcadia or Virtua Fighter next.
I'm also happy because Sonic Frontiers is their best Sonic 3D games since Generations and because Sonic Superstars is also good (forgiving the long boss battles). Sega is really back this time!
Careful SEGA… Make sure these are good and not just nostalgia bait, there was a really bad 3D Golden Axe before and 3D beat ‘em ups have a history of being real bad too. So be careful with Streets of Rage.
However, I am a humongous SEGA dork and this is music to my ears. Favourite news from the awards by far!
Growing up being a huge fan of SEGA, I couldn’t be happier with this announcement. There were rumors of some of these games coming back but I’m thrilled that they’ve been announced!
Segabros we ***** won! It was the best reveal in the show and I need to see what they're doing with Streets of Rage. Looking forward to that "and more..." too.
Best news ever!
Sega definitely stole the show and I'm not complaining I'll buy all those games. 👍🏻
I loved Shinobi, Crazy Taxi is great as well.
@Kaloudz I read something somewhere it was. It could’ve been some Reddit post people wanting it tho haha. But they did say more are coming. Give me power stone 2 remake or a 3rd one!
SEGA announced so many games that for a moment I thought they were going to return to the console business! 🤣
I really wish Golden Axe would have been in 2D.
It is a hard pass for me.
Obviously looking forward to the new Jet Set Radio and hopefully they will remake/ remaster Skies Of Arcadia soon.
This was the biggest surprise announcement for me, all of them look great but I'm just happy to see one of my childhood faves Shinobi finally return.
@Kaloudz I just recently got a hand held emulator with a ***** ton of games and he been playing power stone 2 a ton on it hahah.
Well, it's about time.
I am a spoilt Muddy Funster, I am interested in the "and more..."
Good stuff though so far
So quick run down of what we see from Sega, including very recent releases:
They have a nice and strong lineup... And there are rumors of a Virtua Fighter revival on top of all of this...
… and more. I remember Sega talking about a new gameconcept. Sounded like a metaverse concept. Now showing 5 games in 1 show…could it actually be 1 game? Glued together, with more worlds added later?
Probably the surprise and highlight of the show for me. If they are done right this could be really good.
Really hope that 'and more' includes a MSR remaster. We all know Microsoft will never greenlight anything PGR but Sega still own that original IP. Make it happen Sega!
I am hoping they can pull off this idea because Sega can't pull a good Sonic game out their butt lately.
@ZuneTattooGuy it’s shocking to me that frontiers is so well-received, it’s awful imo
