Microsoft has announced the first wave of Xbox Game Pass titles for September 2023, which obviously includes tomorrow's release of Starfield along with Lies of P and the previously unannounced Solar Ash.
Don't forget about Gris as well, which arrived on the service just a few hours ago:
Here's the full list of titles coming to Xbox Game Pass in early to mid September.
Date | Game | Platform |
---|---|---|
September 6 | Starfield | Series X|S, PC, Cloud |
September 14 | Solar Ash | Console, PC, Cloud |
September 19 | Lies of P | Console, PC, Cloud |
In addition to this, we already know that nine games will be leaving Xbox Game Pass in early September including Metal: Hellsinger and Sid Meier's Civilization VI. These will be discounted by at least 20% until their removal date.
Of course, don't forget that we've also got more September 2023 Xbox Game Pass titles to come in late September including the day one releases of Party Animals, Payday 3 and Cocoon, so it should be a fantastic month all around!
Aside from Starfield, what are you most excited for here? Tell us down in the comments below.

Got a feeling Starfield will make me miss out on pretty much every other release for the rest of the year.
@Sifi Mentioned at the bottom of the article Cocoon too!
Yessss Solar Ash is such a big W!
But are they really replacing 9 games leaving with just one new announcement lmao 😂
That's nice. I never played Solar Ash before. The year keeps getting more stressful.
Really wanted to like Solar Ash but the character control absolutely sucks for a momentum based game. Considering Hyper Light Drifter's controls are pinpoint accurate it came as as a huge disappointment.
@BacklogBrad i will be honest skyrim is taking my hole time this year, Yes i played skyrim so much back in the day but never finished it alway getting destructed by weekly mods ....now im determined to finish the game (and oh boy i having lot of fun)i did this so ican wait for mods on starfield to come out then play is so starfield can have my 2024
@TakeItEasy I replayed Skyrim earlier this year. I got the newest anniversary edition cheap on PC and went down the whole rabbit hole. Got all the achievements and tried a bunch of the mods. I like to replay Skyrim and Fallout games every 2-3 years. I wont get to play Starfield until it drops later tonight but I imagine I will add this one to that cycle of replays.
Solar Ash is a nice W for gamepass! I love everything Heart Machine puts out.
I really enjoyed HLD so I'll give solar ash a try.
I like how in PS oriened sites they are crying dialy about start field lol tday they cry about GP saying it hurt retailers because starfield and lies of P are free on GP ....i never ever seen such sick crazy fandom
Like do they care about you??? Just get the best deal no coop care about you
@BacklogBrad its such a great game but now bathesda will be under fire everytime they release a game because they are an xbox studio and lets be honest ps fans are crazy and aggressive and journalist are ps fans or just siding with the bigger side, so they will try to destroy any bathesda game
@GrumpyDev You’re definitely right but there are degrees to this. Up until two years ago I had only ever had Nintendo consoles and decided it was time for an HD console. I didn’t have any prior allegiance but I ended up picking XBox because the PS community came across as incredibly toxic. I now own all three and frequent their communities across several websites and forums and still think PS is by far the most toxic. It makes sense when you consider that the PS audience is younger and skewed more towards men.
Let the good times roll! So much to celebrate on gp this month.
You gotta feel sorry for titles like Lies of P a bit, im sure being launched so close to Starfield will lessen the impact and attention the game deserves.
Counting down the hours now till launch... I finished Sea of Stars earlier and Im staying up for blast off.
I loved the Lies of P demo enough I’m going back through to try the other 2 Paths (specs).
I will fill a bit of time between tje 6th and 19th with that space game… but lies of P is going to wreck my face for weeks when The full release comes out!
@RBRTMNZ whereas xbox is aimed more at old women?
@Deljo That feels like a bad faith reply but I’ll take you seriously. Women account for 48% of Xbox owners vs 41% of ps owners. The average age of an Xbox owner is 33 vs 28 for ps. While the typical owner profile is the same across all consoles those are still significant enough margins to impact the tone of the communities.
It obviously won't get the same attention as the day ones, but I'm really keen to give Solar Ash a go. It's been on my radar for quite a while - great month for GP after a few lacklustre ones (for me)
