The Game Awards nominations have now been revealed, and unfortunately, Xbox and Bethesda's space RPG Starfield hasn't made the shortlist for 'Game of the Year'. Despite this, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer has congratulated the teams at Xbox as well as other nominees on social media.
In this brief message, Spencer mentions how he's incredibly proud of the work delivered by Xbox's teams this year and mentions how it's "an honor to be in such great company" at the annual video game awards show hosted by Geoff Keighley.
"Proud of the work delivered by our teams this year, and congratulations to all the nominees from across the industry. It's an honor to be in such great company at #TheGameAwards"
All up, Microsoft has had a total of 10 nominations across 8 categories (and yes, it seems to be counting Blizzard's game Diablo 4). Apart from Starfield being nominated for best RPG, some of the other Xbox titles shortlisted include games like Forza Motorsport and Hi-Fi RUSH. Hi-Fi RUSH, in particular, has been nominated across 5 categories! Here's the full list of first-party Xbox Game Studios nominees:
- Best Art Direction - Hi-Fi Rush
- Best Score and Music - Hi-Fi Rush
- Best Audio Design - Hi-Fi Rush
- Innovation in Accessibility - Diablo IV, Forza Motorsport, Hi-Fi Rush
- Best Action Game - Hi-Fi Rush
- Best RPG - Starfield
- Best Sports / Racing - Forza Motorsport
- Best Multiplayer - Diablo IV
The winners of each category will be revealed on 7th December. To participate, you'll need to sign in on The Game Awards website and vote before this date.
