Meh! They need to take a leaf out of Hello Games (No Mans Sky) book of "How To Fix Your Game after a crappy release...". Considering that Hello Games had something like 12 programmers as well, they turned that game around amazingly.
I've been playing Debris Infinity on switch, it's one of those twin stick shooters, asteroids on steroids, high score chaser games... very addictive. Started playing NFS Unbound which I'm actually enjoying, and working my way through Fable 3.
Considering the size of this game, I am surprised to be honest. Thinking on though regards our ship, do you think we'll be able to fly the planet surface and land where-ever we like? You know, like in No Mans Sky.
To be honest, when I first watched a video review for Unbound when it first released, and me being of a certain age, I was very cynical about the style of it overall, especially the music... but after playing it yesterday, I really enjoyed the vibe and style... it really suits the game. It goes to show that you should never judge a book by it's cover.
@Rmg0731 On my Series S, I'm using a Flash Drive to install and run the backward compat games and obviously the Series S games onto the internal SSD. I don't have too many games installed other than what I play regular, so the space has never been an issue so far. I'm sure Starfield will take a big chunk out of that though.
Well with all the hype it is getting and after watching the Starfield Direct... it needs to be outstanding, otherwise Bethesda will get so much negative feedback... and they don't want that, especially after the Redfall disappointment as well.
@Cashews Oh yeah I do remember Space Giraffe. Also, Radiant Silvergun was released on the 360 and got great reviews, so will look into that also. That seemed to pass me somehow...
@Cashews apologies, I was kind of referring to the XBOX itself. I do have a switch and play that Crimson Clover quite often, it's absolutely bonkers. I also own an Mini Amiga 500 and play the classics like 1942, Battle Squadron and Banshee... that machine was amazing back in the day.
After watching an interview on YouTube yesterday with Todd and IGN, I'm even more hyped now. The interviewer asked some great questions, he was clearly a gamer like us and Todd answered them brilliantly, he didn't avoid them like most would.
Todd talked about a scenario where he was randomly exploring a planet when a ship landed near by. He was then attacked as he boarded the ship and the ship just took off with him.... LOL!!! Sounds brilliant...
Enjoyed the show, really looking forward to the StarWars Outlaws. How-ever, remind me never to watch on Youtube again... the live chat was toxic and horrible.
Always a big fan of these games. I like being creative so this sort of game appeals to me a lot. Made up it's on Game Pass too, will be jumping straight into this. Will definitely have to make some room on the drive though over the next few months... Starfield, Forza and this...
@Cashews Well, funnily enough, a few years ago now, our local corner shop wouldn't allow kids down the grocery isle. Apparently kids touch things... and no-one wants to buy groceries after their greasy little hands have been touching them.
I went with a 'C' mainly because it only got me excited for 3 of the games. That's not to say I won't try the others especially with them coming to GamePass.
I really did like the Direct show, but to be honest, it felt like that they just expanded on what we already knew about it... there didn't seem to be any BIGGER reveal if you know what I mean.
So much detail and features shown and I bet the game still surprises us once it's released. Also, 25 years in the making would be a lot of wasted time if it turns out to be another Redfall launch.
I'm an old school gamer, my eyes are fixed at 30fps due to the amount of TV and gaming I have seen over the years. Anything over that makes me nauseous.
To be honest, most of the games are not for me, but it was a good showcase. Most of these new announcements all coming to game pass too. I'm really looking forward to hearing more about the new Star Wars Outlaws, the first open world star wars game. Loved the Starfield Direct... they must've taken inspiration from No Man's Sky though....
There's a guy on youtube who plays bad games so we don't have to, it's really funny... He played this game and I couldn't believe how bad some of it was.
I'm all for the smoothest gameplay experience possible, but will 30fps be such a big deal breaker for a game like this? I could understand if it had multiplayer content, then 60fps would be beneficial. But considering it is single player only, I don't think 30fps would be a bad thing.
I'm still relatively new to XBOX Gamepass so there's a ton of games on my list.
I'm a few hours into Planet of Lana and enjoying it. Downloaded NFS:Heat which I'd never played and quite enjoying that too.
The reason I came back to xbox was for Forza... The current Gran Turismo left a sour taste in my mouth at launch with its "in your face" micro transactions. Let's hope Forza doesn't fall the same way.
@FraserG Yeah I was pleasantly surprised when I first started using it. I was expecting a more plastic and creaky feel, but it's so well put together and it feels no different than the official one I had.
@Somebody haha same here. I'm no train spotter, but I too am oddly fascinated by actually watching model trainsets do their thing if you know what I mean.
I've just purchased the Turtle Beach React R controller for £25 on Amazon (should've been £30, had a £5 voucher). It looks and feels really good, actually prefer it over the standard controller that came with the XBOX.

Re: Elder Scrolls 6 'Projected Release Is 2026', Claims Microsoft Lawyer
@gollumb82 I was thinking of playing Skyrim too. I did play when it was first released back in 2011, but not a great deal of it.
Re: Poll: Are You Happy With July 2023's Xbox Games With Gold?
I pay for the service, so I'll try anything. You never know until you try.
Re: Video: 33 Things You Should Know About Starfield Ahead Of Launch
@Baler Yep me too! That's all I want from a game, The Fun Factor. I don't care too much about realistic graphics and physics etc.
Re: Xbox Game Pass: All Games Coming Soon In July 2023
Arcade Paradise has a great 80s vibe and I'm all for that.

Re: 13 Game Pass Titles Announced At Xbox Extended Showcase 2023
@Cashews haha ok! Funny title for a game that... I'll look into it thanks
Edit: OK just looked at that and apparently was meant to be a 1980s arcade game by Atari, but never got released... Interesting.
Re: Todd Howard Says Starfield Is 'Great' On Xbox Series S
@Ep_13 Yes, he asked some great, and to the point questions and Todd just answered them without hesitation.

@Ephexis83 That's a blast from the past... I love replaying the oldies. I'm still playing Geometry Wars Retro Evolved 2

@Cashews "I know this is weird for gamers - but kids are actual breathing people"
That made me giggle...
Re: Starfield Will Run At 4K / 30FPS On Xbox Series X, 1440p / 30FPS On Series S
I've never been one to cut my nose off despite the face... 30fps is fine with me and I'll be playing regardless.
Re: Poll: Are You Interested In Buying The Black Xbox Series S?
If I didn't already have a Series S, then yes! That extra storage will be useful especially with Starfield around the corner.
