Welcome to another weekend! As always, there's plenty to enjoy on Xbox this weekend including a couple of new Xbox Game Pass additions, three more Free Play Days titles, and over 600 deals across a wide array of sales.
Here's what we're playing this weekend:

I've got a couple of things I'm playing this weekend. The first is something I can't actually talk about right now, but hopefully I'll be able to share some impressions with everyone around the middle point of next week.
The other game I'm still playing and waiting to make a final judgment on is Park Beyond, which is a really fun new Planet Coaster / Theme Park World style game that unfortunately shipped with a few too many bugs. If those issues can be ironed out in the not too distant future, I think Bandai Namco will have a good game on their hands.
Have a good weekend, folks!

This weekend I'll be on a bit of a break from games as I'm busy with a few other fun things, but I will definitely be finding at least a little time to continue my adventures in the amazing Diablo 4, as well as hopefully cramming a little late night time into Crash Team Rumble, which I'm really enjoying so far!
Have a good one, pals!
Craig Reid, Video Producer
Ahoy folks! I feel prepared for my gaming plans this weekend. Having watched the 2021 Mortal Kombat movie, I’ll be having a go at the (closed) online stress test for Mortal Kombat 1. I’m eager to experience a few fatalities - even if I’m on the receiving end.
Besides that, some of you will be happy to hear I’ll be continuing with Final Fantasy IX despite Final Fantasy XVI releasing this week. Sadly the latter is not on Xbox, because I’m hooked on achievement hunting!
Have a lovely weekend and happy gaming!

SWITCH
Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - still running around Hyrule finding Korok seeds...
Fire Emblem (GBA Online) - Figured I might try this one out this weekend. It's my first Fire Emblem game!
Sonic Frontiers - seeing what the new DLC is all about! Happy birthday Sonic!
3DS
Super Princess Peach - after hearing about Peach getting her own game next year I figured I'd boot up her previous game!
PS5
GTA Online - multiplayer with friends later tonight.
Atomic Heart - been curious about this one for a while now, gonna see what it's all about.
PC
Hi-Fi Rush - heard very good things about this game since it came out!
Have a good weekend everyone!
The plan was to be playing NFS Unbound, but I tried it out last night and it's not good at all. Soooo... more Jurassic World Evolution 2 and Hitman 3, then.
Planet of Lana, Sekiro, Cassette Beasts and few matches in Infinite. Good weekend to all.
On Xbox I'll be playing Ravenlok and on Switch it'll be Super Mario Advance 2. Good gaming folks!
Trying NFS on Xbox, FF16 on ps5
Need to beat the 5 Royal Reverie levels of We Love Katamari Reroll after that I’m done with the remake.
I’m still playing Fortnite WILDS, bought the Air Max Airie skin and the Ciri and Yennefer skins from The Witcher
Beyond that I was thinking about starting Final Fantasy VI or Final Fantasy VII through the Pixel Collection
I also just placed an order for Bloodstained: Circle of the Moon Chronicles, The Ace Attorney Trilogy, Katamari Damacy Reroll and Ghost Trick at Play-Asia so that’s exciting.
Soul Hackers 2 on Series X.
Totally absorbed in FF16 atm, Ive taken a break from zelda to play it and Im glad I have.
I've also just recieved my Nacom daija fight stick, so Ive returned to my 'shoot em up project' to enjoy it. Im trying to have every single such game playabe in the house. I have everything up to Ps2/xbox playable on PC with shiney filters, and im working on more modern machines
I really want to make time for 'planet of lana' and 'sword and fairy 7' on gp too. Theres not enough time for everything!
Whatever and where ever you are gaming, I hope you have fun and a great weekend... 👍
Didn't like bookwalker controls are horrible
don't want to play another racing game maybe later down the line but not now
So I'm playing cassette beasts 60-80 hours for 100 achievements and watching some final fantasy 16 videos as I will never play it so that's what I'm doing this weekend
Still playing Wolfenstein The New Colossus (nearly finished) and Bayonetta 3 (1/3 of the way through), but I picked up Road 96 before it leaves Game Pass and am enjoying it so far.
I’m still playing Diablo 4 on my XSX. I don’t have much new to say - the game is still fantastic. I’m currently in Act IV, received a mount (finally), and reached level 50. From here on out, I’m gonna focus on the main story so I can start some new characters to tackle more dungeons and side quests. Oh, and trying not to die by The Butcher for the third time.
I also decided to buy Final Fantasy XVI for the PS5. Let me preface this by saying I did not play the demo, and I avoided all spoilers or discussion regarding it. I haven’t played much, but I did beat the prologue. Holy smokes. The production value alone is mind blowing; but ending of the introduction had me in genuine shock and awe. That stuff was dark as hell, and I love it. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
Hopefully finish Metro Last Light on Xbox and continuing Final Fantasy 16 on PS5.
Started playin Diablo 4 on Tuesday, not played anything else!! Oh apart from a couple of games of COD team death match with my kids.
I'm playing FFXVI on PS5 and Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen on XSX and Fire Emblem on Switch. I've got a lot of fantasy sword fighting happening at the moment.
Giving deathloop another chance cause u know.. Arkane... I loved dishonored series and prey so I'm forcing myself to like this game. Though i find it quite convoluted
Also still experiencing dordogne which is chill and peaceful.
Retro weekend
Ps2 - original ratchet & Clank, medal of honor european assault
OG Xbox - brute force
N64 - paper mario
Diablo 4 After restarting with a Rogue, my character is now level 32. I wasn’t happy last night though - got to the end of a dungeon, beat the boss…then the game disconnected 😡 I’ve now got to clear dungeon and beat boss all over again 🙄
Army of Ruin Yes, it’s a complete rip-off of Vampire survivors, but it’s great fun!
Zelda TOTK Still amazed at how Nintendo pulled this game off on the ageing Switch!
Evil West Only just bought this in the sale for my PS5. Hope to start it tonight.
I laid my Xbox to rest until September. It’s Final Fantasy XVI all the way now.
I know I'm really late to it, but I'm going to finally get started on Doom Eternal's DLC. Also thinking about jumping into Cassette Beasts for something a bit more chilled on the side.
I'm playing Gears Tactics..
I’d been waiting for NFS to come to game pass, didn’t think it’d be this soon. Really enjoying it, very pleasantly surprised — the heat increasing each day as you do more events, deciding when it’s best to call it quits and not risk losing all your money works well.
Edit: oh and TotK ofc
I am currently playing the great ace attorney chronicles on switch.
Cities Skyline Remastered & Mars Logs
Not done with Tears of the Kingdom, but taking a break to play a bit of Final Fantasy XIV on my PC.
Might finally sit down and play a little bit of Bookwalker on Game Pass, the concept behind that game has grabbed my attention.
Back on Xbox!! I know, lol. It's like my 3rd Series X since launch. This PC gaming thing is not for me.
This weekend for me:
On Series X: Control UE
On Switch: Persona 3
Both great games and I can't wait for Starfield!! Gonna get GPU soon, too. Cheers and have a great weekend everyone!
Kingdoms of Amalur and Pokemon Black 1
Bit more or FF16 I think and then I’ll be playing Diablo 4 for the first time which will be awesome!
@Kraven yeah FF is a spectacle indeed and keeps dropping my jaw with each new set piece. I bought Diablo 4 randomly in the early hours this morning so going to start that tonight which I can’t wait to try.
@gollumb82 I bought a new GPU and have been playing on PC exclusively (except for Ragnarok) for the last 12 months but I booted up my PS5 and Xbox a couple of weeks ago and it felt like coming home. I think working from home has made me hate sitting at a desk most of my day whether it’s work or games. Couch, headphones and controller seem to be a better fit for me after work. I even bought the Steelseries Nova Pro Wireless just to enhance the experience a little bit more.
Well this weekend is a pretty simple one. Just gonna focus tonight on a nice long opening session of Final Fantasy XVI. Then the rest of the weekend is gonna be trying to finish Metroid Prime Remastered. According to the guide I’m following I’m pretty close to the end of the game? I’m in the Phazon Mines. Might play some Dead Island 2 or Street Fighter 6 as well. As for the anime it’s Hells Paradise and Mashle primarily and honestly for the rest of the weekend and most of next week the focus is on catching up on and finishing off my Spring anime as a lot of them are wrapping up as the Summer Anime season premieres soon. Hope everyone has a excellent weekend and happy gaming.
@Alpha_Pulse
Good to know I'm not the only one 🙂 I've been bouncing around since this gen launched. I've had a PS5, 2 Series X consoles (one at launch, but I sold it a year later), a Series S (nice but underpowered), a PS5, a gaming PC and now a Series X again. I dunno, as you said: there's something incredibly soothing about just booting up a console and gaming within seconds, no hassle whatsoever. PC gaming has its perks but the noise and heat levels it generates just kill it for me. I can't get over how quiet and cool the Series X is. Once you've experienced that nothing comes close. FPS, RTX and mods be damned.
MLB 23, Madden 23, as well as a few (other) Game Pass titles including Screamrider of which compiling stats for achievements to obtain daily 50 point Rewards.
I need that DeLorean so I'll be playing some Need For Speed!
I'm away on a camping trip this weekend, which is always a good thing. But there's no gaming for me. If I'm not too worn out when I get home tomorrow I might carry on with working my way through the master chief collection. Very near the end of Halo 2. I also had a quick look at NFS unbound on Thursday so I might jump on that a little bit too.
Happy gaming everyone 👍👍
Think I’ll give Planet of Lana a try, been hearing good things about it from folks here.
Dirty Jobs: The Video Game and Atomic Aftermath.
@gollumb82 100% behind you on that one. New games on PC are nearly as expensive as console and the parts have doubled in price in some cases. Think I missed the golden years of PC gaming. Everything seems to be developed for consoles first and ported over to PC in a ***** state too.
Another slow weekend for me.
I'm currently staying at a friend's place and I only brought my Xbox but haven't really played much of anything the past week but I'm at least playing Road 96 currently(pretty interesting experience) and have tried some Diablo IV(feels ok so far).
Minecraft (Switch), Harvestella and Smash Bros Ultimate.
I was just playing a ton of Gran Turismo 7, I still got my weekly FH5 fix, and I've been trying out some new games on GamePass and Plus Extra.
Street Fighter 6 (PS5, Xbox Series X) and Final Fantasy XVI.
Shining Force 2
Planet of lana on xbox. Pikmin and Diablo III on switch.
Looking at MLB23 and going to give NFS a go. Down the rabbit hole with Rogue Legacy 2 on PS. Gotta finish Red Fall and Ghost Wire at some point.
I’m burned out on Diablo 4 after reaching lvl 72 Necromancer on XSX and have been playing Zelda Tears of the Kingdom ever since. TOTK has all the framework of breath of the wild, everything from graphics to SFX to combat, but they’ve added a bunch of features and it has been a lot of fun exploring Hyrule once more.
@Darude84 boooo
I'm actually playing Enslaved for the second time and I'm still working through Assassin's Creed: Valhalla. I'm about halfway through The Wrath of the Druids and still have all of the other DLC's to get through. I'm about 218 hours in now.
@BBB Unbound is really bad, isn't it? I second your feelings on the controls, plus it's weirdly stiff and Criterion - aka, the Burnout people - managed to make a game where drifting feels like arse.
Was working this weekend so I will be playing during the week I guess.
ESO Necrom will probably take most of my time. If this was a single player RPG I would say that the quests are very high quality. The fact that it is an MMO blows my mind.
Diablo IV - Finished the game but there is still so much to do.
NFS Unbound - I tried it and liked it. It is a good change of pace.
@gollumb82 'This PC gaming thing is not for me.'
Whilst Im sorry it dont work for you, its nice to hear someone else say it. Ive been pilloried by a number of pc fans for expressing a similar sentiment, even on this site. I still run a decent pc and run all my emulation there, but its rare I play a game there by choice, cyberpunk for the rt wow factor and Forza 5 for better performance than my X. But for pure kicking back, I reach for one of the cosoles😁 Welcome back to the box!
@Titntin
Thanks a ton! Appreciate the support. I didn't mean to bash PCs and I agree that CP2077 looks best on PC, but to look and play great in 1440p/60/RTX on Ultra it makes my PC sweat bullets and makes it so noisy that I can hear it with my headphones on. That's far from ideal as I usually game in the evenings/at night. Add twice the pricetag for it compared to consoles and it's really for enthusiasts. I'm glad to be back 🙂
@Titntin @gollumb82 gaming on PC definitely isn't for everyone. There are certain ease of use factors that you have to completely forego on PC. I switched to PC mainly because it gave me access to a bigger pool of games overall and I had the money at the time to make a beefy machine. I'll never understand the superiority complex of a lot of PC gamers, though; play whatever/wherever makes you happy, innit 👍
@Markatron84
I hear ya. Thing is, I spent $1300 on a gaming PC that within 6 months went from being able to play CP2077 at 1440p/60/Ultra with RTX on Ultra to a PC that will be able to run CP2077 Phantom Liberty at 1080p/60 with RTX on low. That really was the straw that broke the camel's back. I'm fine with 1080p/60 (hell, I can live with 30 fps if it's rock solid) but not at that price. Also I hated having to have Steam, EGS, EA app, and GOG installed to have access to all the games. But that's me and I get why some people will disagree. Whatever rocks your boat, right?
THPS 1+2
Far Cry 6
What am I playing?
I am playing Star Trek: The Next Generation Seasons 4 and 5.
Wife and I have been watching Star Trek for almost a year now and we are now in the middle of TNG:s5.
Final Fantasy 16.
Final Fantasy XVI
I just finished Road 96. Thank you to everyone who recommended it in the other article! What a great game! It totally would have passed me by if not for people on here talking it up.
Also, while yes, its undeniable that PC gaming is not as convenient in certain aspects, I have found that 99.9% of the time I have much better experiences on PC than I do on console (and I basically have all of them). My PC is in my living room, and I play with a controller 99% of the time. I don't know why people think they need to play on PC with a mouse and a keyboard at a desk. You really don't. Also, basically every game launcher allows you to import games from other launchers - Pick your favorite and go from there. There are easy solutions to every "issue" people talk about. I'm not trying to be an a**, play however you want, I'm just saying that all of these "problems" are solvable and well worth the increase in framerate, fidelity, modibility, extra options, free online play, free games, cheaper games, and access to a much, much bigger game library than any singular console by incomparably wide margin.
I've been playing Debris Infinity on switch, it's one of those twin stick shooters, asteroids on steroids, high score chaser games... very addictive. Started playing NFS Unbound which I'm actually enjoying, and working my way through Fable 3.
Final Fantasy XVI and Minecraft
