I'm in the process of moving house at the moment, so this weekend involved clearing out clutter mostly. But I managed to squeeze in a few hours with Roboquest, which I really enjoyed and some BF2042.... good times!
"What you have to look at is that Activision Blizzard used to be multi-platform..."
I guess the acquisition then is all part of a grand plan. Not to keep the library of games exclusive for XBOX, but to control them across a multi-platform.
@lokozar You see... my gut feeling tells me that they surely wouldn't release all future games across all platforms and still support Xbox hardware... because what then would be the reason to buy the hardware?
@papafrezz81 I also moved from a PS4 last year, and bought a Series S. I don't regret my purchase as I've predominantly used Game Pass for my games which has given me access to some of the classics I missed out on. As long as I get to still play those games, I'm not really concerned what happens.
I'm very intrigued by what is about to be announced. I'm not sure what to expect, but what will be, will be though. As long as I still get to play the games I play now.
@Kaloudz My god, hell let loose is relentless. It's definitely not a Call of Duty or Battlefield where you can run and gun... I spent most of my time hiding behind a tree or wall.
@Kaloudz haha! same here, but I still love a good multiplayer shooter. Not played since it first launched to be honest though... might jump back in and see what's going on.
Really excited it's a day one release on GamePass too. How-ever, regardless of how hyped I am for this game, I refuse to pay for any early access if there is one, like I did for Starfield... I will wait patiently for this.
They explain really well in the video that the first person perspective brings you closer to the action and adventure as you are looking through the eyes of Indy... I really like that a lot, super excited.
@Greenbasilisk I'm kind of with you on the community comment. So many times have I got an earful if I broke away from the squad I was with. I get that the game relies heavy on communication and squad tactics, but there are times when you can't help but go lone wolf because you got split up. I didn't find it fun at all.... not for me unfortunately.
Was playing this most of yesterday and had so much fun. I was surprised by the amount of content too. There are so many maps and game modes. You can create your own skin as well, so as you can imagine, some players have been quite creative π€£
I tried this last night.... it's damn right hard, but I really enjoyed it.
You can't run round like a headless chicken as you would in COD or Battlefield, otherwise you'll just get shot, and even then you don't know where the shot came from at times. You don't get a radar to tell you where the enemy is, there's no holding of hands in this game... this is down the route of realism.
@FraserG Haha! I did wonder for a split second why the posts were dated 2020π€£ I used to play Wreckfest on the PS4 many years ago and loved it, and to be honest, I never realised it was on GamePass, so guess what I'll be downloading tonight π€
I still play Geometry Wars 2 from time to time, it's super addictive, but would love this to appear on GamePass. It would hopefully gain some new gamers who've never played and rejuvenate the leaderboards.
I've played so many games through Game Pass, that at first I thought it was zero games purchased. But then I realised, I did purchase Antstream Arcade, The Division 2 on a great sale, and regrettably I purchased early access for Starfield... all digital.
@eire-shabba Some elements of pressing buttons at the right time are required, but you get a screen prompt for them, but most of the time you'll just press to the rhythm for the perfect attack. It's not as daunting as you might think... π
@eire-shabba I'm not a huge fan of rhythm based games, but I absolutely loved it. Once you get the hang of the rhythm pressing, the action seems to take over and produces some great visuals... it's very satisfying too. Definitely give it a try.
@AlwaysPlaying Same here mate. I've had my Series S just over a year now with GamePass and have absolutely loved it. I haven't purchased a single game, all played from GamePass. I am thinking of upgrading to the Series X next year though.
I'm a big SHMUP fan and finally decided to treat myself to a game called Cotton Reboot on the switch and I can't unsee the game in my head haha! It's absolute bonkers, and super addictive. I was tempted to bring my Switch to work today and maybe get a few games in on my lunch π€£
@Kaloudz Companies need to make money that's for sure. But this was clearly overpriced at launch. Maybe launch at around Β£35-Β£40, then claw back more money through DLC.
I've had a really chilled weekend which allowed me lots of time on the xbox. I put a lot of hours into Forager on Saturday, it's a real gem of a game. The more you put into it, the more addictive it gets, love it.
Then on Sunday, Game Pass recommended a game called "Medieval Dynasty". So I checked on some reviews beforehand and WOW! It gets good praise, how did I miss this over the years, I'd never heard of it. I really enjoyed what I played so far. I only managed a few hours with it, but yeah! I liked it...
This is the kind of game that needs a Time Attack Mode. You basically have so many minutes to destroy and wreak havoc and get as bigger score as possible within the time limit.
Look, each to their own, but when I'm playing a game, I certainly ain't concerned about Lumen Reflections or Occluded SSR... I'm too busy having fun to be thinking about that.

Re: Starfield Wins Steam's 'Most Innovative Gameplay' Award
If there's one thing I learned from Starfield, it is never to purchase Early Access for games. It just didn't live up to the hype in my opinion.
