If you're an Xbox Game Pass member and you're looking forward to playing Starfield and/or Forza Motorsport later this year, you'll definitely want to know about a couple of Game Pass exclusive bundles you can buy right now!
Firstly, we've got the Starfield Premium Edition Upgrade which is £31.49 / $31.49 and includes all the Starfield Premium Edition content - five days of early access, the Constellation Skin Pack, a Digital Artbook and Original Soundtrack, and eventually the Shattered Space Story Expansion.
- Starfield Premium Edition Upgrade (Xbox Store)
For Forza, you're looking at a Forza Motorsport Premium Add-Ons Bundle for £26.99 / $35.99, and this also includes five days of early access along with the Race Day Car Pack, Car Pass, VIP Membership and Welcome Pack.

In all fairness Forza will leave the service. Forza unfortunately still get delisted. Usually though they gift the game to anyone that owns it.
I kinda hope they sort it out so Forzas don’t disappear so quick.
Won’t ever leave the service?
Because the previous FM games say hello to you.
The base games should be included imo.
@Stocksy That's true, I've amended it.
So i can just buy that upgrade and I will be able to play starfield in the early access through gamepass?
@VisitingComet1 As long as you're a Game Pass member already, then if you buy the bundle, you'll have five days' worth of early access and all the extra benefits (like the expansion) in the future.
You'll need to remain a Game Pass member to continue accessing Starfield in the future though. Either that, or you'll need to buy it at some point.
@FraserG thanks brother I have always had gamepass and that won't change so no need to buy the 99 dollar version.
@FraserG How can they still say “play day one on game pass” with a straight face and then sell early access separately? It’s a semantic con. Not a fan at all. Splits the community and preys on FOMO
Update: The release date isn’t 6 sept now, it’s 1 sept and game pass members get it 5 days late. (In fact the Microsoft website even says release date 1 sept)
@Stocksy Forza Horizon 4 (2018) was not delisted, though.
@themightyant early access is the bonus - it includes the DLC which presumably won’t be available to regular gamepass members
Well, guess I'll buy it next month as I can not wait any longer haha
Fine by me. I will stare straight into the grimey jaw of capitalism and say, "Yes, Daddy, please. Let me have Starfield five days sooner. Just take my money."
@themightyant Yeah, I get why it's annoying.
@FraserG I don’t think it’s “annoying”, I think it’s a con, they are knowingly mis-selling the product. “Play day 1 on game pass” is a lie. Even the Microsoft website currently says relates date 1 Sept. So NO we don’t get to “play it day 1 on game pass” we get it on Day 6. But even if they change that date, it’s all subterfuge the release date is 1st sept regardless even if they dress this up as “early access”. It’s 100% dishonest
Sadly @SplooshDmg probably has it right, I will want the expansion DLC and this might be the best way to get it. It’s a dirty deliberate ploy. Not a fan at all, and a real shame to besmirch Starfield, which looked fantastic. But this leaves a very icky taste in the mouth
@themightyant That premium edition probably includes some free space horse armor. You know, as a kind gesture to remind us how this all started.
@SplooshDmg I was going to bring that up but felt it was already too ranty. Such a shame, Starfield looked great but I can’t get onboard with this, it has really tainted my mood for it. Grubby business.
@themightyant Eh, I'm not too bothered. They're giving me DLCs I'd buy anyway. I'm an accountant, I have to admire schemes like this. This is what we pay those guys in marketing for.

Fixed it for ya 😂
@themightyant I do understand what you are saying. I would have to pay for the expansion anyways and it comes with this bonus so its not that big of a deal to me.
@VisitingComet1 I’ll be buying the expansion too I have no problem paying for that. Have they said how much it will be on its own? It doesn’t seem to show on the Xbox store but £35 (half the price of the full game) is a lot to pay for one expansion. For reference Dawnguard / Dragonborn were £13.99.
But lying about the release date and BS with “play day 1 with game pass isn’t on” they must think we are idiots. It’s a dirty move designed to appeal to FOMO
@FraserG Any chance I can use my rewards to get it? I am thinking so … time to redeem friends …
Edit - yes, used all my rewards points and got the upgrade. Also got 799 reward points for my 10% off purchase
I don't own game pass and I'm not spending €80 for Starfield Standard edition 😂. Although I can just get game pass
@Banjo- I know it’s not time yet. It will be. 3 only went last year didn’t it? Although the last few years are a blur for me it might have been longer. Motorsport 7 has gone? Or is it still up? I’m still sore I never got to play Forza H1 rally expansion. I have everything else Forza.
@Stocksy Forza Horizon 4 was expected to be delisted in October 2022. With previous Forza games, their fourth anniversaries represented the time when the games would get delisted from digital storefronts due to expiring licences. Forza Horizon 4 launched in October 2018.
If Microsoft had a hand in development for a game, it will come off Game Pass if, for some reason, they discontinue active support for the title and/or it's delisted.
Quantum Break had some licensing issues, causing it to be delisted from both the store and Game Pass for a few days while they fixed it.
Super Lucky's Tale got temporarily delisted from both when New Super Lucky's Tale was released, until Microsoft were able to make it so an ownership perk, that gave you the original and it's DLC for free, applied to the Game Pass version of New.
Forza Motorsport 7 was reaching the end of it's licensing period and Microsoft made it practically free to buy, telling everyone to purchase every piece of the game possible before it was gone forever.
And over the 'Day 1 on Game Pass' tag, that refers to the final release, not the final 'open beta' that all the premium edition players get. Games get Day 1 patches all too often. I'd rather wait a few days, let those early adopters find those last bugs, than celebrate getting the biggest title of the year... and find myself falling through a planet when landing.
@AlwaysPlaying how did you redeem your points for this, I can't seem to see the option?
@RetroMan71 just redeem your rewards into a Xbox gift card. If you see the $5 option then click on the drop down and get the $25 option. I redeemed two of these. Then purchase the preorder and it should use those cards for your purchase. (Sorry I’m in Canada so I don’t have the pound symbol)
@AlwaysPlaying aaah of course, thanks buddy. Never redeemed before...
@themightyant no offense man but I think you’re making this a way bigger deal than it is. You only get early access with the premium and collectors edition, not the standard. A LOT of gaming companies do that. The real release day is September 6th as that’s when the standard edition (the one that will be on game pass) comes out. You’re paying more for dlc, cosmetics and early access.
@Destoroyah2021 perhaps. But we all see it differently. To me the game now releases 5 days earlier, It’s delayed for everyone not willing to pay. They can SAY the release date it the 6th and spin it as “early access” but those are just words, the reality is anyone who pays a premium gets it 5 days before normal customers. That’s a fact. I don’t like that at all and don’t want to see the “pay to get the game early” business model thrive.
I would have less of an issue if they weren’t also crowing the “play day 1 with Game Pass” line, but that’s just untrue now. I dislike dishonesty.
I’m aware it comes with DLC etc, but that’s the clever part of it, if they were just charging £15 for early access ONLY I think people would be more up in arms. But they sell it as a bonus, clever marketing, but dishonest.
@ValentineMeikin the licensing issues had to do with the stuff that doesn't belong to Microsoft for the games that they took off like the music and so on. Everything in starfield is proprietary. There is nothing in there that they'll have to delis when the licensing end star field is owned by Microsoft and everything in it. It's not like Bethesda can just go out and take their game and go somewhere else. Microsoft owns Bethesda and all the titles that are made by Bethesda well zenimax which is the parent company too. Bethesda
@themightyant You are still playing it day one (release date) on Game Pass. It is just that everybody that buys Premium is playing it on day negative 5. They have a golden ticket. How does that that work for you? It is called EARLY ACCESS. Game Pass does not promise early access just plain old day one (oh , how awful that must be). Do you always get your nickers in such a bunch?
@PsykoRobot Golden Ticket. LOL. It is called spin, lap it up.
But what riles you so, to attempt to insult random people on the internet for having an opinion. Tough day or twisted knickers?
@themightyant It is Day 1 on Game Pass, the Deluxe gets you five days early access. September 6th is the official release date on Bethesda's own website, not the 1st.
https://bethesda.net/en/game/starfield
Early access has been a thing for years now but you're getting worked up about it. It's not a con as you put it, as you're not just getting early access, you get the expansion as well.
@VisitingComet1 man I was right on the verge of posting 100$ for that premium edition. This came in clutch. 😂
