We've got another new Xbox controller hitting the market in the near future! As part of Bigben Week 2023, Nacon recently announced the "EVOL-X", which is an officially licensed Xbox controller coming out in September of this year.
The company says it's built on the expertise gained with 2021's Nacon Revolution X controller to design something that's easy to use, comfortable and durable, while also being sold at an affordable price.
Here are some features of the controller:
• Four vibration motors (two in the triggers and two in the grips) so players can feel the
game's sensations right in their hands
• Wired USB connection with 3m detachable cable for playing at a comfortable distance from
the screen
• A reinforced 3.5mm jack for optimal durability
• A non-slip surface for optimal grip and comfort during long gaming sessions
• Larger action buttons to increase ease of use and comfort
• Concave stick heads to fit thumbs and improve handling
You'll be able to pick up the Nacon EVOL-X Xbox controller in various different colours when it arrives this September, with the price coming in at €34.99 in Europe for the white and black versions. Further details about pricing in additional regions (and for the other colour options) have yet to be revealed.
We'll throw some screenshots down below, along with some extra details.
"Building on the expertise gained with the Revolution X (premium official controller released in late 2021), the EVOL-X offers everything gamers need in a controller for an affordable price.
This Microsoft-certified controller is the latest essential peripheral for all gamers. Easy to use, comfortable and durable, it is ideal for players looking for a heavy-duty, high-performing controller."

Why are they all wired?
@Ephexis83 All third party Xbox controllers are wired. I think it's something in the wireless communication between controller and console that's proprietary.
Even the Hyperkin Duke which is supposedly an officially licensed controller is wired only.
@OrfeasDourvas @Ephexis83 Same for PS, yeah, the controller interface is proprietary, even though PS uses BT and MS uses some form of Wifi, there's some layer on top of it that doing wireless needs to have some licensed or purchased part for it, so almost everything is wired. Scuf gets around that because they actually just rip apart actual stock controller shells and build around it.
@AlwaysPlaying I just hope there's a new controller color announced at the June presentation. That's the make or break reveal right there.
Not bad, Nacon generally do solid 3rd party controllers for PS and Xbox.
And no you shouldn't waste a joke on Xbox announcing another controller because it's 3rd party.
@Ephexis83 Xbox and Sony both use proprietary protocols that is very expensive to license. Very very few third party manufacturers ever produce such controllers because they end up being way more expensive than the first party ones, and then they have to compete with more features that end up making them even more expensive.
Nintendo is the only one right now using Bluetooth, so they get tons of third party wireless controllers.
Doesn't look too special. I think there's still not a perfect XBox controller available for 2D games.
I've just purchased the Turtle Beach React R controller for £25 on Amazon (should've been £30, had a £5 voucher). It looks and feels really good, actually prefer it over the standard controller that came with the XBOX.
I have a PowerA Fusion Pro 2 controller and very happy with it.
!do not buy nacon or pdp controllers!
