Welcome to Black Friday week! In addition to the huge Xbox Black Friday Sale 2024 that's currently ongoing on the Xbox Store, we're expecting a bunch of hardware and accessories discounts in the coming days - including for consoles.
In fact, the Xbox Series X is already discounted by $50 in the US right now at certain retailers, and it's been confirmed the Xbox Series S (512GB) will be getting the same treatment on November 21st. This will bring it down to $249.99.
"November 21 through December 2: It’s easier than ever to find the perfect console for your playstyle this holiday with savings on Xbox Series S. Legendary adventures are ready for you!"
So, if you've got some Microsoft Rewards points stored for the occasion, it might be worth bagging a bargain while you can! Another deal includes $10 savings on various Xbox Wireless Controllers, and the Xbox Design Lab service will even be offering free engravings with all purchases until December 5th.
But what about countries other than the US? Well, Microsoft is keeping quiet for the time being about what to expect elsewhere, so your guess is as good as ours. We'll be sure to track down all the biggest Black Friday deals later in the week though, so stay tuned here at Pure Xbox and we'll let you know if spot anything particularly incredible.
What are you hoping to buy for Xbox this Black Friday? Let us know down in the comments section below.

Legendary adventures @540p…🥴
@Balaam_ Resolution isn't everything.
This isn't really a sale price, I see this priced at $249 more than I do at it's retail price. Wasn't this $199 last black Friday?
@ZYDIO Don't be surprised to see it going lower than $249. This is just Microsoft's official wording - it's a good discount if you want to buy off the official store (with Rewards points for example), but otherwise it'll probably be cheaper elsewhere. But who knows?
Was this the 512gb or 1tb version? And I also read the title as "discontinued"...
@ButterySmooth30FPS 512GB.
At first glance, thought it said, Series S, discontinued.
I was like thank goodness. It's about time.
@Balaam_ The "Legendary Adventures" are trying get games to run properly on Series S.
As a Series S owner, if you want an Xbox get a Series X!!!
@Balaam_ Whether that's sarcasm, I'm aware that the Series S is 1440p? 🤔
@ButterySmooth30FPS
Same. 😅
I'm getting old.
Honesty, I bought a Xbox Series S last year and I have outstanding performance. I have 7 games that I usually play. I mostly play Star Wars Battlefront 2015 and Star Wars Battlefront 2. Make sure you get Game Pass Ultimate as well. Game Pass Core is a solid rip off. Only games you can really play is Among Us and Overwatch 2
Curious to see what the UK prices will be.
2 years ago I picked it up for £180/90 on Amazon so let’s see what it gets to this year
It will be $219 @ BJs on black Friday in the US. A few retailers last few years have done the S + $50 gift card for $250 essentially making it $199. Expect similar bundles this year
$250 is a decent price. I love the S, especially with the xscreen.
I got a second controller of my choice for free with my S a few years ago. That's not a bad bundle if you can find it. Target had it for me.
@UserTK-421 Uh, I'm not sure if you're aware but Overwatch 2 is free to play.. you don't even need gamepass to play online since it's a free2play game.
@RetroMan71 I guess he was thinking of Switch and not Series S.
Easy to find that for $200 new
@UserTK-421 man I love SW Battlefront 2015, I was great at that game but when I've tried the last few years the servers are always empty. Such a shame they abandoned that game after the BF2 fiasco with micro transactions. Always thought the first game was better
I’ve enjoyed having a Series S. I also have a Series X, but I’ve played and enjoyed many games on the S. It gets a lot of hate from all sides, but it’s a good little console for many people. For a kid’s Christmas gift or for someone who doesn’t have the best TV, it’s a great way to get next gen features.
@Balaam_ you can play next gen games with 250$ what do you expect?
@FraserG I guess that is a good price for the Microsoft store.
@Kilamanjaro Yea man I feel ya. It's more active if you change your server region in your EA settings. U.S. West servers are usually the best bet depending on the time of day. I strongly suggest the evening towards the end of the week like on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday when people are on vacations and winding down for the night.
@Elbow I used to play PC Game Pass, but it wouldn't matter if your EA Play account and Xbox App is updated, as well as your Gaming PC. I tried to launch into Battlefield 2042 once, and the game wouldn't load because my EA Play Account wasn't active. You have to make sure that your PC Game Pass is active while your EA Play account is also active. I made the mistake of not checking and I found out that they were 2 separate subscriptions! That is why is switched to a Series S.
@Steel76 540p? Please not 480p. Either way that's bad. I personally would never buy a Series S unless it was my only option, but I see why they created it and why people buy it. I think it was a mistake. Plenty of games are on Xbox One, One S and One X for people who can't afford the new consoles. If you can't afford the new one just play the older one, I don't know why that needed to change. From what I've seen those consoles seem to outperform the Series S in some cases especially the One X.
@GuyinPA75 Why? I absolutely love the Xbox Series S. It's the first Xbox I've ever bought after I switched from PC. Even though I miss the nostalgia of launching STEAM or putting CDs into the Xbox One drive, its nice not to have to clean that dusty disc drive all the time. Xbox Series S is a win for me.
@UserTK-421 thanks for the tip. Also the graphics on those games were already very good on Xbox One so they run really well on the newer hardware, even though the Series S is weaker than the Xbox One X. I honestly think this gen that power level should've been the base model for Series S rather than making it the midpoint between and Xbox One and Xbox One X.
I already got a good deal on a series s, bought it for $115 from fb marketplace and now its sitting next to my ps5 and switch. Being a multiplatform gamer is the best
