@Casco thanks for the confirmation. I don’t like CRPG turn based either but heard so much hype about BG 3 I thought it might be worth a try; but if it’s combat is equally as rigid as other turn based CRPGs, I’ll pass.
I love my Series X and all, but Phil Spencer and Microsoft are horrible at this type of hype. They’ll say “just wait and watch the game awards for something amazing”, then announce Gamepass coming to TI-83 calculators or something (which actually would be kind of impressive given that said calculators don’t have internet connectivity)
Just have to say, having played both, I can definitely say that Forza feels better to play. Turn 10 has surpassed Polyphony in that regard ever since the first Motorsport came out.
I'll double dip at times, for instance when Power Washer Simulator drops on Switch, I'll buy it a second time for the hell of it.
Some GP titles I've owned on PS4/5 such as the Yakuza series, which I love so much I just waited for a sale and purchased them outright, not downloading them once since I knew I'd like to keep them in my library (No PS in my house anymore).
Then there's gems like Prodeus, which had a blast trying out on GP, but buying it on Switch rather than XSX since I'd rather play that with background noise on the TV.
Far Cry 6 is good fun, very good fun. GOTY? Not by a wide margin. I believe we can all agree Power Wash Simulator is the GOTY that none of us deserved, but got.
Can confirm, started a new game on Series X after watching the fantastic anime on Netflix. Last time I played CP2077 was the ps4 version running on the PS5; after all the updates, the game finally runs like I expected it and it's an awesome world to dive back into.
I love Playstation, but yeah, Jim Ryan doesn't get to bitch and moan about this.
Additionally, 3 years is the formal offer as of now, but Microsoft loves money and COD games are basically ATMs for Activision, I don't think MS' board will allow for the game to be released on Xbox exclusively.
Honestly sales figures for CP 2077 were strong and CDPR recouped their costs. The impact the game had releasing in a broken state wouldn't have been that big of an issue if it weren't coupled with the fact that they were revealed to have gnarly crunch expectations. With that being said, aside from the expansion coming out, we also have the Edgerunners anime being produced by Studio Trigger, so I seriously doubt this is the last we see of Cyberpunk; though it's possible that CDPR wouldn't make the next game nor the scope may not be as large. I personally think Rocksteady should pivot from DC and make something in this space.
I doubt we'll ever see a port or re-release of MGS 4 since it was built on Sony's terrible, but powerful, cell processor. To re-release that game would mean it would have to be rebuilt from the ground up. I wouldn't mind replaying the first 3, but would want to do so on Switch/Steamdeck rather than TV.
I wish the battle passes worked for more than the most recent game. I don't really play Warzone and I still prefer Black Ops 2020 over Vanguard by far, so I have been unlocking a bunch of BP rewards on it, but never use them... But that's my own issue.
Just to clarify, does Xbox's cloud gaming service differ from GPU cloud gaming AND/OR streaming directly from your home console?
I've been streaming every XBONE/Series X game I own on my series X to my iPhone recently using a Backbone, including Elden Ring, so I'm a bit confused here.
@Dezzy70 Yeah, honestly if the next Switch had the horsepower of an XBONE or PS4, not even pro models, it would be just enough to make their games run better. If I want SX/PS5 level graphics on mobile, I'd just stream it to my phone and use a Backbone.
Honestly the only one of the big three that could use new hardware is Nintendo. I love my Switch to death, but when games natively built for it struggle to run on it or look like they have a thin layer of petroleum rubbed on it (looking at you XBC 3), I think it's time for it to have some more horsepower under the hood.
EDIT: I realize that the article is about the introduction on a new console outside of the big three, but my statement still stands.
"Generally, it seems EA is still trying to find the right balance between single-player, multiplayer and live service within its portfolio."
How about they find the right balance between good and bad games? EA hasn't released a real banger since the Dead Space era. The closest they got was Jedi Fallen Order and that was even a bit janky.
I kinda wish WB would move on from the Arkham franchise. Don't get me wrong, I will eat up Suicide Squad when it drops, but after killing Batman off, I don't really feel like playing as the other members of his crew. Honestly I'd like to see Rocksteady take on a non-DC IP, could you imagine if they made a Blade Runner game?
@Titntin Yeah, I actually own HW Unleashed, but on Switch, which may be why my experience with it was stifled.
I agree with you in regards to the need for speed in FH5 Hotwheels and having just started it over the weekend, it's just such a stark contrast going from S1 and 2 cars in H5's vanilla game, back to B class vehicles, but at least that provides a nice sense of progression.
There's a part of me that wishes that the first DLC was either famous car chases/races from cinema or even Micro Machines would have been cool. Regardless, More FH5 is always good.
Finding it funny that Playground is doing Hot Wheels better than that actual Hot Wheels game that came out last year. It's not a bad game by any means (aside from load times on Switch), but this is pretty excellent.
I've been console agnostic as far back as I remember, but I opted for PS4 and 5 at first because of exclusives. The busier I got with work, the less those exclusives started to matter to me and I just wanted a single console to play backwards compatible games with no hassle, as well as my typical multi-platform releases such as COD or any FromSoftware games. Yes, the PS5 has a better exclusive selection right now, but they just don't match my schedule nor do I want to purchase them if I never get around to playing them. At least with GPU, I was able to enjoy Halo Infinite with my sub and not feel bad about never beating it. Likewise, I loved Forza Horizon 5 so much, I ended up buying it outright.
That is some absolute cake science! The use of fondant and transfer paper is really well done, though the "Avengers" layer might make me a bit nauseous, the rest looks delicious.
It would be cool if NightDive updated the Terminal Reality horror games like Nocturne and the Blair Witch titles, though I imagine the latter might be difficult due to licensing... But if they were able to renew the license for Blade Runner, maybe Blair Witch won't be such an issue.
Obsidian: "You know, I saw this really cool guy who always tweeted about how awesome the games on his service was and though, this is a guy who is no BS. Now look at us, we're part of the family, haven't put out anything of real consequence yet, but he keeps talking about how our beta of Grounded is great. Honestly, the pat on the back from our boss is nice and completely lacking BS."
I want it to be in the 90's, but knowing it's a pure beat-em up will probably gate it below 90 due to lack of variety in gameplay. With that being said, I'm all over this like white on rice.
Phil Spencer's weekly blurb about his current favorite Gamepass game is the "How do you do, fellow kids" of gaming... Actually, can Microsoft just hire Steve Buscemi to be the head of Xbox?
I keep getting my hopes up that Vampire Survivors is launching on console, but then I find out its on GamePass PC. I could just install it on my gaming rig, but I do most of my gaming on series X and Switch these days...

If MS can optimize controller support for this and make it work well, it would be awesome if Blizzard could take note and port Starcraft II.

Beat it over the weekend and it's truly the best COD campaign to drop in quite some time.
Re: Fallout 4 Free Xbox Series X And S Upgrade Announced For 2023
I mean, it plays great already due to the uncapped frame rate, but sure, I think we'll all be happy with native-level updates.
Now give us Fallout 5.
Re: Poll: What Score Would You Give 'Scorn' On Xbox Game Pass?
Solid 7 for me. 17/10 for art direction, 7 for puzzles, 3 for combat.

So... when will Phil make a stink that this timed exclusivity will harm Xbox's brand long-ter- Oh wait, that was Jim Ryan.

@gollumb82 In comparison to the likes of Sly Cooper and Infamous, Ghosts of Sushi-Bar was about as fun as visiting the DMV.

Re: Pick One: What Was Your Favourite Xbox Game Pass Game In September?
I would've chose Deathloop, but I played it on PS5 (and now replaying it on Series X), it's that great of a game, just not a new experience.
Honestly, Prodeus is the game last month that really blew me away.
Re: Scorn Xbox Game Pass Release Date Brought Forward By One Week
