The Game Awards hype is kicking into gear now as we begin to learn more and more about the show for 2023, and yet again, Xbox is teasing its inclusion in the December event.
After saying that the team will be there with "news you don't want to miss", Xbox is now bringing Game Pass into the fold. Ads for the live event have begun showing up in the Game Pass area of the Xbox app, and on Samsung TVs with the small Game Pass logo included in the ad.
Now, this doesn't necessarily mean we're getting any huge Game Pass reveals at TGA 2023 — historically the show has delivered smaller announcements for Xbox Game Pass — but Xbox is seemingly teasing something to do with the service. For our money, we'd expect a couple of reveals for 2024 but that's pure conjecture - this could be anything!
The Game Awards has responded to Tom's post with a cheeky reply on Twitter though, so something Game Pass related does appear to be in the works for the 2023 show. Lets hope we can start building out our Xbox Game Pass 2024 guide with some new titles in the coming days and weeks.

Please please please BG3 on GP lol, that'll save me some money for presents
A shadow drop of something first party would probably be too much to ask for, but something like Elden Ring might not be?
After all that, it'll probably just be some really old CoDs or something
Doesn't necessarily mean any reveals are coming. Could just be because multiple game pass games are nominated. Could also be the game awards marketing team paid to advertise it there.
There probably will be game pass announcements there but this "tease" shouldn't be seen as indicative of anything.
Not interested on BG3 but I can see it happening.
@BacklogBrad If it follows the past couple of years, we'll get a few Xbox Game Pass announcements but nothing too major. BG3 seems very unlikely in my view.
Gta 6 dropping on gamepass a year early seems like the best case scenario maybe haha🙏
@FraserG you're probably right, but... it's very suspicious that they are waiting for the show to even give us a release date. And not many games release in the last couple weeks of the year, so pretty much everyone is expecting it to be shadow dropped during the show. Putting it on Game Pass would be a huge mic drop moment for Xbox.
@RazputinAquato It would, I certainly hope you're right!
I'm hoping for a "stealthy" Diablo IV drop into game pass. Even though they said 2024 for ABK games, just give me that Diablo IV goodness.
@Kaloudz Diablo 4 brother. Still haven't played it and this would change that. Unequivocally.
@RazputinAquato Agree it would be a huge mic drop moment, but it's likely a bit late to influence console sales for Christmas, which would surely be the best reason to do this. If it is coming to Game Pass (which I doubt) would have been better to announce earlier. I'm suspecting the game to shadow drop on Xbox but not Game Pass. Expecting other good Xbox announces though.
@Kaloudz Nope I don't to be honest! The past two years of The Game Awards have been pretty underwhelming from an Xbox Game Pass perspective, so I don't see them going too crazy here.
First load of act blizz games surely?...release date or shadow drop.
I love my Series X and all, but Phil Spencer and Microsoft are horrible at this type of hype. They’ll say “just wait and watch the game awards for something amazing”, then announce Gamepass coming to TI-83 calculators or something (which actually would be kind of impressive given that said calculators don’t have internet connectivity)
Diddy Kong Racing on game pass as a Nintendo thank you for the 3 rare games launched on the Nintendo switch.
Dream on.
Cyberpunk 2077 + the dlc, now that would be sweet.
One possibility - They do have an entire flotilla of announcements that haven't happened yet.
I'll just say three letters: A... B... K...
Usually we dont get gamepass drops in the 2nd half of december so i doubt we will get gamepass news. What i do expect is news about Hellblade 2 and or Avowed or the other first party titles releasing in 2024
I wouldn't bet money on it, as Xbox already tried to temper expectations in regards to ABK games coming to Game Pass this year, but I can see a surprise drop of a handful of ABK games being a possibility, personally. Even if COD is out of the question for a bit, i don't feel that Microsoft chucking THPS1+2, Spyro 1-3 and Crash 1-4 on Game Pass out of the blue is too big a stretch.
I really hope that they still have their own showcase in February. I'm guessing it's going to be a first party trailer/date reveal for a game and something coming to GP. BG3 would make sense as it's likely going to be GOTY from what everyone keeps saying (haven't played it) so advertising that the 2023 GOTY is in gamepass will be good marketing.
@J_Mo_Money i got around 600 hours into D4. I took a week vacation when it launched and played about every day. I got 3 level 100’s and several level 50-80. Keep in mind Diablo is my favorite game franchise so this was a big game for me. Can’t wait for you to join sanctuary. Season 2 has been awesome.
Silksong shadow drop please 😭
For those expecting Activision games on Game Pass to be announced here, don't forget that the FTC are still fighting Microsoft.
@HonestHick The only Diablo I can remember playing is 2, and I only dabbled in it. I also wasn't too much of a PC gamer back then but when I was StarCraft occupied almost ALL of my gaming time, as I was obsessed with it.
What class did you roll with for your Diablo IV one? Curious what I should go with.
I went with Druid, but they start out a little slow. Then i went to my classic build of a Barbarian and they kinda of start out slow. But once both classes get going they are really good. Rogue and Necro start out much faster. Just depends on what you want to do and find more fun. It’s really balanced in season 2 and the campaign so any class has some great build options.
StarCraft needs to come to Xbox. I think that would bring a lot of players out to try it that have moved on or never played on PC.
Hexen remake on GP?
