You definitely cannot beat GPU for value since the end of 2024 with Indy and COD and so far this year and what is coming.
I am new game only person hardly ever go back to old games, that’s why remasters annoy me.
GPU has started producing lots of new games now and is sensational value, there is no doubt about that.

Anyway, all console this and console that. It’s the games that count and the best they can be produced and displayed and performance for me.
Hence my massive passion for the Xbox one x.
What a console.

Now even that has changed with the Pro as Xbox one x and series x was the best performance experience. Now the Pro has that.

Then you add Microsoft putting games on PS5 then Pro becomes the best place to play Xbox games.

Then you think ok UK, I will go buy a console.
Lets go to Game UK no stock, ok Argos no stock, ok Smyths Toys no stock.
But we have Switch and soon Switch 2 and PS5 and Pro in stock.
It makes me so angry and frustrated 😩 with Xbox having no stock and please don’t tell me it’s not deliberate from Microsoft.
So what happens little Amy and Jonny end up with a Switch or PS5.
Xbox consoles become a smaller user base whilst the others grow and game pass then slowly slips away as well.
What sort of trillion dollar company lets this happen.
One that does not care at all about out loved Xbox home consoles.

I think out of the big 3 Microsoft’s next generation home console is the most confusing to me.

Switch 2 and PS6 I get.
The only thing I can think of it keeps Xbox relevant if they release another home console and probably the most important it keeps GPU going and most subscriptions are on Xbox consoles with a very good attach rate.

If Xbox consoles only had a few million game pass subscriptions. Then I strongly believe there would be no next gen Xbox and they would go full publisher as it makes business sense.
They are only keeping Xbox consoles going because of game pass subscriptions attached rate.

So why I am I confused, just come to the UK the second biggest buying of Xbox consoles and game pass subscriptions to the USA.
It is so hard to buy a series x.
Game UK, none
Smyths toys none
Argos none
Microsoft really don’t make sense to me even if I really try to make sense of it. Sell a console sell a game pass subscription.
Then they don’t re-stock any consoles.

Then I think Microsoft are hoping that will be the last home console from Xbox and Sony and who knows Nintendo.

Then I think they believe it will go all streaming and it will good enough to do so.

The only console market left then is handheld which Nintendo are king of, but it looks like Xbox want to join that market.

Should definitely be buying this unless a disaster occurs, but I doubt that being id with Doom, plus their game engine is great as well.
Soz team green but it’s a Pro purchase for me on this one.

And let’s not mention Europe.
And I know I’ve said it before the UK really has an Xbox series x stock issue.

Microsoft don’t care, and I see very little point of a next gen Xbox and now they let stock almost run to zero in the UK.
I can’t care anymore I really have tried this year but Microsoft with Xbox consoles have finally ground me down.
I can’t give passion continuously if I get none in return from them.
I will just pick the best big AAA games from Microsoft studios and pay and play on my Pro now. So looking forward to DOOM on Pro.
I have assassins creed shadows to keep me occupied as well.

Some other site yesterday was moaning it was a short playtime at 25 hours ish.

This is an xbox.
People might buy it then.

Avowed only on the second major area but seem to be 100% so far almost.
What a great adventure and action balanced game with some good exploring mixed in.
Simple to get into and the whole upgrade system is straight forward and not over complicated.

Wasn’t a great game or hit.
Was ok for a little play, but never stuck with me.
Don’t think it sold that well.

Different opinion, none, get them all on ES6 and a more modern engine and game zero loading screens and helpful intuitive UI, with modern systems interface.
Cutting edge graphics, great biomes and weather effects etc.
superb gameplay and music to die for.

That will do me.

Of course I would want Microsoft to own Ubisoft. I then get all the new games day one on GPU, like assassins creed shadows next week.
GPU is already great now the games have started rolling out so add Ubisoft and I’m laughing all the way to the bank.

Just buy the whole company Microsoft then I can have UBI games on my GPU.

The more studios and games on GPU the better especially new day one games.

It’s an interesting move for Xbox, but nowadays it’s anyone’s guess what they will or will not do.

On the whole, they don’t make sense to me with some recent movers, a sort of two steps forward one step back.

They treat their home console like some treat their employees. Sort of ok, then the employee leaves and they then realise how good they where and missed they are and hard to replace.

Well it’s ok if you like second hand stuff I guess.
Sometimes CEX are more expensive than buying new.

Got back into COD Campaign and Zombies this year and enjoying due to GPU of course.
How every gamer or general public have not seen the GPU value since the end of last year and now, I will never know.
Think Xbox should buy Ubisoft very soon so I get Assassin’s creed shadows and Farcry 7 on GPU.

Looking forward to this and set in the UK 🇬🇧
Think we have series x 60fps performance?

Still playing only in second area taking my time.
Great game and loads better than some reviews made out.
Will see if the mid distance fizz has gone when panning around slowly on bushes etc.
I’m guessing that’s the upscaler effect at work here or some process not cleaning the image.

Never mind the ducking new console, I’m getting so frustrated looking for a new Series x white discless for a work colleague.
That she can pick up in shop today or delivered say tomorrow or at the weekend. UK.

She even wants to sign up to GPU as well.
Xbox finally got the games so people want the consoles and GPU, and around great London none to found. Total and utter self destruction.

Definitely not for me I’m a big TV gamer only.
My switch has never been undocked from day one game wise.
Hope it works out of course.
Will be interesting to see if Xbox next home console is manufactured by another company set up to produce these things.

The Xbox glory days for me.

The gun play and hook ability in Halo Infinite single player campaign for me was perfect.

It was just the game looked like a little upgrade graphics wise and open world wise like a very good Xbox 360 game. Only really one biome, hardly any weather effects and not enough to do.

Gameplay fantastic, world and graphics not great.
But the concept was there and developed by the right team could have Halos answer to Nintendos with Zelda and BOTW, of course with lots of differences but you get the idea.

And really after 6 years of development really should have been Halo BOTW.

The big difference, Nintendo basically developed a single player only game for one console really.

343i, single player, multiplayer and how many dam consoles and PCs and clouds.

I said when Halo infinite released and my comments have stood the test of time.
Xbox studios will never make a massive killer app like Sony or Nintendo because they are not focused on just one console and until recently just single play campaign.
Now Xbox studios have started focusing on just single player games like Indy and Avowed things have got better.

Game development is no rocket science even though some on here would you believe that.
It’s about one single goal which helps, project management.

I’m not here total to have ago at Xbox though it seems like that sometimes.
I have a series x with GPU until March 2027 on the old UK £11.99 per month, so since the back end of last year with Indy and COD and now Avowed, Atomfall, south of Midnight and Doom all first half of this year. I’m laughing all the way.
Just wish they would do a bit more for their console business which could get them more GP subs and Xbox momentum as a brand.

I’m not against even games going to other consoles and all the cloud promotion and other devices, but just show some PR and love to the Xbox console market as well.
It’s where us original Xbox console owners day one exist and propelled the brand in the first place.

You have some very valid points and I agree.
But considering Xbox consoles has the highest attachment rate against billions of other devices as you rightly put then GP itself isn’t setting the subscription world alight really.

I know my take is very very basic, look at your biggest attachment percentage which is Xbox consoles and focus a bit more on that avenue as well, not let it slowly die.

Almost think why don’t they totally leave the console hardware business and do a deal to get GP on PS5 and Switch and have another over 200 million consoles to try and attach gamepass to. That’s got to better than the cost of making Xbox hardware and selling about 30 million consoles only. You gain 170 million consoles 200-30 stopping Xbox consoles and putting game pass on the other 2.

Probably but when the others have sold roughly 140 million and 75 million it’s not to be sniffed in comparison.

Maybe the whole gaming world is changing and obviously is and it’s not to my old brains liking, when things were simple and even like last generation in the PS4, Xbox one era.

However it’s only really Microsoft that are really changing the landscape or trying to.
We shall see if it all pays off, and if Microsoft fail they can always fall back on being the biggest publisher in the world.

Nintendo slipped up with the Wii U and bounced back.
And Sony have had a terrible GAAS time.
So god only knows what will happen next.

And that’s the issue they are selling less and less consoles by the month and people are turning to PS or even Nintendo.
So now even less people will buy next generation Xbox. It’s a downward spiral, which is why I don’t understand another Xbox home console being released.

Don’t get me wrong a series x with GPU now the games are arriving since late last year is great value and a worthy contender to Sony in my opinion. But Xbox absolutely doesn’t advertise and even run console stock so low shops run out.

Sorry Xbox, but don’t make me laugh.
They can’t even stock replenish Xbox consoles now in the UK, with jsut some drip feeds coming through.
I think that console ship has almost sunk now let alone a push for series s when GTA 6 arrives.

I’m still baffled by it all especially when they talk next generation Xbox home console and want to increase game pass subscriptions which selling current consoles would be a good way of achieving that, considering the high game pass attachment ratio to Xbox consoles.

So confused by Xbox consoles now.

Don’t have the knowledge to really understand.
But if I turn it on and it does all the same things as the series x and just plays the games, then what really is the difference?

Seems to be the future of Xbox studios.
Apart from GPU then what is going to be the point of a next gen Xbox home console.
Even now then and next year like you said all games day one the Pro with the performance advantage as well.

Think this will do well on PS.
FH5 will do better and then Doom better still as it’s day one as well.

Please don’t forget quick resume on the series x standout feature that the other consoles don’t have.

We must have the same eye set, 40fps really doesn’t do it for me either.
Then switch to 60fps and my eyes are in heaven 🤣

It seems to be looking good so far in footage etc.
shall wait for reviews as I will have to pay for this one, not on GPU of course and I have got used to paying 🤣
Then again not even half way through avowed, so should wait for a quiet spell and a discount as well.
The again we got atomfall, south of Midnight then Doom so the quiet spell could be a while yet.

I believe this another GPU game.
They just keep on coming for my £11.99 a month.
I starting to feel sorry for all those paying for games. I know I am as well with a subscription but £11.99 until March 2027, it’s great 😊

See the pro in performance mode 60fps gets a little ray trace uptick to standard instead of selective. Might also included a bit more LOD.
Then again depending on the base resolution before pathetic upscaling PSSR can make images a little soft over the ps5 and series x.

Obviously we are pushing these consoles FSR to hard with level of detail and ray tracing and keep requiring lower resolutions with upscaling.

What happened to the good old days of staying within a consoles limit and sticking with a good resolution and no upscaling.

Shame we don’t know the base resolutions for each of the six prior to upscaling and the upscaler being used. Makes a massive difference for the upscaler, the higher the base resolution the better to start with.
Probably FSR.
Always go 60fps the most smooth and less blur when panning experience. Never thought much of 40fps balanced, doesn’t improve much on the 30fps panning blur, but 60fps does.
And I have A95L so we not messing about here.
I bet we could get native 4K 60fps on the series x if we took that pain the arse ray tracing out of the equation.

This generation is obviously pushing consoles too hard and really requiring upscalers all the time.

This game as been over for me ages ago, especially after the lacklustre dlc.

Maybe a PS5 release might give some extra reward for the game. I don’t think many in the PS5 side will buy. The PS5 side will buy games they don’t have much of, like FH5 and a big meta of 92 and a very good AAA quality game.

I left the insider programme over a year ago.
Got fed up of little things like this and strange letters like symbols and the odd blank screen and having to reboot the console.

Side note, Smyths Toys UK have just got some store stock of series x white disc-less model. Only a few in each store, no home delivery though.

Also not much difference between the top nine all close.
I’m sure this year Xbox can push that score even higher with what’s to come.

Definitely not my cup of tea and never has been.
But a great addition all the same to game pass.

The gears collection day one makes sense on PS5 but gear e day wouldn’t if they want to sell a new Xbox console off the back of the game.

Then release gears e day on PS5 about 6 months plus later.

But I bet you millions they won’t say gears e day is going PS5 until after its release on a new Xbox console.
