Rebellion's new IP Atomfall is launching into Xbox Game Pass on day one, and while that's pretty much universally seen as a great thing for subscribers - it does come with its own unique challenges for the team behind the game.
In a fresh chat with outlet TrueAchievements, developer Rebellion talked about releasing its new title into Xbox Game Pass at launch, and how that presents a "huge challenge" for the team. The studio has to adjust to a "massive audience" who will all be "starting fresh" when the game lands:
"It's daunting at best when you've got that massive audience just waiting in the wings, and you're going to have so many players immediately starting for fresh... it's not like you can kind of gradually ease into it."
It's an amazing challenge, and hopefully people will enjoy the experience that we've given them."
Honestly, we're very much looking forward to getting stuck into this experience ourselves at this point. It feels like a good while now that we've been hearing about Atomfall - and on the back of some very enjoyable Sniper Elite games as of late, we're looking forward to seeing what the team can cook up with this new IP.
As for what Atomfall goodies the team has showcased lately, well, just a few days ago Rebellion dropped a 20-minute walkthrough of the game's 'Casterfell Woods' area for us all to gawk over. We'll throw that down below, alongside some other recent sneak peeks and early previews of this open-world survival game.
Excited for Atomfall to hit Xbox Game Pass later this month? Talk to us about it down in the comments.

Launching into a 30 million+ Game Pass Ultimate audience I think it's more important that ever to get performance right day 1.
Hopefully it's good this looks more my vibe for a game then avowed can't wait to try it!
Looking forward to this and set in the UK 🇬🇧
Think we have series x 60fps performance?
I wish them all the success their hard work deserves.
I'm keen on trying this so it's great it's coming to GP while I still have an active sub and get to try it. If I like it as much as I think I might, then I'll be buying it (though not on Xbox).
Initiall reveals gave me 'Resistance' and 'Everyone has gone to the Rapture' vibes, but these deeper dives are revealing a game with it's very own vibe that's really intriguing.
Day one on GP for me. Never would have bought this usually but looking forward to trying it on the service.
Game pass freebie, thanks MS, before I switch to PS because you stop making a proper console and instead some hybrid garbage that won't play games properly without heaps of fiddling each game and it's blooming files
Looks good, it's 3rd party but it's still 'Play Anywhere'! which makes it great value as you can buy it on Xbox or PC/Handheld (or via Ultimate Gamepass) and play it on both systems at No extra cost.
Excited for this one. I pre ordered the deluxe edition to get the early access on the 24th. I can't wait to get started.
