Atomfall Dev Talks About The 'Huge Challenge' Of Launching In Xbox Game Pass

Rebellion's new IP Atomfall is launching into Xbox Game Pass on day one, and while that's pretty much universally seen as a great thing for subscribers - it does come with its own unique challenges for the team behind the game.

In a fresh chat with outlet TrueAchievements, developer Rebellion talked about releasing its new title into Xbox Game Pass at launch, and how that presents a "huge challenge" for the team. The studio has to adjust to a "massive audience" who will all be "starting fresh" when the game lands:

"It's daunting at best when you've got that massive audience just waiting in the wings, and you're going to have so many players immediately starting for fresh... it's not like you can kind of gradually ease into it."

It's an amazing challenge, and hopefully people will enjoy the experience that we've given them."

Honestly, we're very much looking forward to getting stuck into this experience ourselves at this point. It feels like a good while now that we've been hearing about Atomfall - and on the back of some very enjoyable Sniper Elite games as of late, we're looking forward to seeing what the team can cook up with this new IP.

As for what Atomfall goodies the team has showcased lately, well, just a few days ago Rebellion dropped a 20-minute walkthrough of the game's 'Casterfell Woods' area for us all to gawk over. We'll throw that down below, alongside some other recent sneak peeks and early previews of this open-world survival game.

Excited for Atomfall to hit Xbox Game Pass later this month? Talk to us about it down in the comments.
