If you've been wondering when 2024 Pure Xbox Game of the Year Indiana Jones and the Great Circle might be heading over to PlayStation, it seems the PS5 release date has been set as April 17, 2025.
This is according to the ever-reliable Dealabs, which is reporting that the game will also have an early access period with the Premium Edition that begins on April 15th. Pre-orders are set to begin later this month.
Unsurprisingly, both the standard and Premium versions of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle are expected to cost the same as they do on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC, with the cheapest starting at £69.99 / $69.99.
This move will mark four months of Xbox console exclusivity for Indiana Jones since it arrived back in December of last year - although it was announced back at The Game Awards that a PS5 launch would happen in Spring of 2025.
Any thoughts on Indiana Jones jumping over to PS5? Let us know down in the comments below.

Enjoyed the game. It really did have an Indy feel.
Solid game. Lots to collect and find. It made me interested in the dlc, whenever it comes out.
They're gunna have an absolute gem when it lands and I hope it finds as much success there as it did on Xbox. Brilliant game.
Think this will do well on PS.
FH5 will do better and then Doom better still as it’s day one as well.
And anyone that thinks this period of exclusivity at just 4 months is only going to be for Indiana Jones is deluding themselves, @OldGamer999. This is just the start. By the end of next year, every game will release day and date on both consoles. Even timed exclusives will likely be a thing of the past. No red lines. Every game will cross over...
This is how exclusives should work.
I would prefer gaming with no exclusives at all, but timed exclusives for a few months, I don't mind.
@Lup I'm in exactly the same mindset.
How are the graphics/optimisation on Series X? I’ve got it on GP PC and whilst my PC is decent, I find it a bit patchy tbh. Not as bad as Forza Motorsport………..
I’m thinking of buying on PS5. Cheers in advance.
@Fiendish-Beaver I think Halo Infinite and Motorsport could really do with thr player boost by going to PS5. It’s all going Day 1 going forward isn’t it.
@Fiendish-Beaver
Seems to be the future of Xbox studios.
Apart from GPU then what is going to be the point of a next gen Xbox home console.
Even now then and next year like you said all games day one the Pro with the performance advantage as well.
I'm glad it's making it's way to ps5 but I am again laughing at the early access period tactic on a simple port. I wish xbox would let that whole idea die on all platforms.
Its ironical that the first year this gen where we have so many first party games, almost everything coming to PS. And the people who never wanted xbox games are now pre-ordering them lol.
Aside from console war kindergarten, great game. Got sidetracked into avowed but defo returning to Indy after.
@Fiendish-Beaver yep and thats not the news anymore. Every new game will be day 1, good half of older games will be ported when possible too.
Nothing we can do about it.
@Lup same but its only xboxers with this mindsight unfortunately. Since competition is not planning to release on xbox, its one sided deal that hurts the xbox console
@x3King84 double the installbase and these games are not available via GP on PS so straight up sales. Pretty much any port will benefit
Good Indiana Jones game, but every area didn't need to be a large, open zone. Too long. Overhyped. Can we get Machines Games back onto Wolfenstein 3 again please?
@x3King84 I’m not sure why Motorsport will be needed on PS5 if PS5 already has Gran Turismo. Besides I heard the new game isn’t as good.
@Fiendish-Beaver it’s for the best this way. Maximize reach and sales for the games.
Brilliant game, glad to see it get more players, well deserved for the devs and make bank for Microsoft.
@Millionski
"people who never wanted xbox games are now pre-ordering them lol."
Apart from the odd one or two trolls, that's simply not true is it?😁
People were always happy to buy Bethesda and Activision games on PS, and that didnt change just because MS bought the publishers - indeed the biggest console player counts for these publishers games have always been on PS consoles..
People just were not enthused enough by MS published games to buy an Xbox to play them is all. Now Xbox have been forced by financial necessity to publish all there games on PS, people will now have the opportunity to get these games without buying into the ecosystem, which was very clearly all they ever wanted.
I'm no different despite owning every MS machine. I buy all my games on PS and use the series X as my GP machine when or if there is a game available there I wish to play, currently loving Avowed and Indy. I have bought FH4 mind you, as that's the only place I will be able to play that fine title on console, though I own it on Steam so maybe the next steam box, or indeed maybe MS next PC console..
I find it more ironic that people who were desperate to grab exclusives and deprive PS players from titles, are now pretending they are happy because Shareholders get a better dividend return, that's funny af! You only have to read back in the comments of some prominent posters here to see how they have changed their tune significantly..
You are entirely correct, @Millionski @Kaloudz & @Lup. Now, with ALL games going to the PlayStation, and likely with that being day and date, it does means we no longer need to buy two consoles. Now we can buy just the one console, and people will choose PlayStation.
People can argue all they like that Xbox has Game Pass, but other than first-party titles, most games on the Game Pass are also on the Sony Services too, and then some besides. Then of course Sony has exclusives that are generally exclusive for years at a time.
It's easy to argue that Sony has had a poor first-party generation this time round, and I'd agree with you, but that is mostly because the previous leadership chased the Live Service cash-cow and failed. What they did in their attempt to do this, was buy up studios that they felt had strong upcoming Live Service games such as the Concord developer. That one failed, but it could just as easily succeeded.
What this means for Sony is a refocussing on high quality solo experiences, which will be exclusive to their platform for years at a time. Plus, Sony will continue to buy up fully exclusive games, and timed exclusive, games, such as Stellar Blade, et al.
Then of course, it can almost be guaranteed that Sony will have the publicity rights for GTA6, and in doing so they will probably shift more consoles in the month that that game releases, than Xbox will shift all year.
What does all this mean? It means the more money that Sony makes, the more third-party games they can lock down, and thus deprive those that only game on an Xbox. This will also have the knock-on effect of developers choosing not to support the Xbox. It will be the smaller developers to begin with where the returns from the Xbox will be outweighed by the costs of making their game for it, but in time, the size of those developers will get larger and larger, which will mean that games become Sony exclusives not by the signing of some deal, but by virtue of developers choosing to avoid the Xbox, and this is already happening to a degree.
Then we have Game Pass, which is already suffering. As always, Game Pass has a fair bit at the beginning of the year, but it tapers of dramatically later on. Just look at the last two or three years and you will see this pattern repeated. If you play few games on the Game Pass, then only owning a PlayStation, and not both a PlayStation and the Xbox, is a no-brainer. In the long-run, Game Pass will cease because there is a tipping-point at which the Service cannot be profitable. My money is on that occurring within the next 5 years. It is absolutely inevitable. As fewer people buy an Xbox, fewer people subscribe to the Game Pass. As the quality of games dips, and the price increases, you get the exact same result. The end is definitely nigh when it comes to Game Pass, and for many, that is the reason to own an Xbox. Remove that, and then there is only one console offering a similar service.
Why do you think Microsoft are pursuing their current course of action? It is not some act of benevolence. It is has been forced upon them by poor decision making and the astute actions of Sony.
[b]After[/strong] the next generation, the only one of the two that will still be making consoles will be Sony, and you have to have exceptionally poor eyesight not to see this coming...
@Fiendish-Beaver You are entirely correct, @Millionski @Kaloudz & @Lup. Now, with ALL games going to the PlayStation, and likely with that being day and date, it does means we no longer need to buy two consoles. Now we can buy just the one console, and people will choose PlayStation.
Not me. I'll be with Xbox through and through. Exclusivity doesn't phase me. Indiana going to PlayStation four months post Xbox does not, whatsoever, take away the enjoyment I got from that game. When the day comes that Xbox say all games will be day and date multiplat, I'll still stick with Xbox because that's my favourite ecosystem.
I don't think many people will be leaving Xbox behind. Not at least to the degree that you believe they will. If I wanted the best of both worlds I'd have already purchased a PC. Xbox are making moves that suit them, and if they can make a tonne of cash selling on other platforms - to then reinvest more cash in Xbox studios and services - I say faster pussy cat.
Watch this space. With Xbox hardware being touted as feature competitive, the biggest leap yet, and with handheld also being on the cards for 2025 / 2027 (on top of Xbox's outstanding game output and future slate) I say it's never been a better time to play Xbox. Period. I guess we just see things differently ☺️
I for one load my console up, play a game, and get lost in its world. I don't play and contemplate whether the game I'm playing will be available elsewhere. I'm all for tearing down barriers. MS have said this for years, that they want as less barriers as possible, this strategy really isn't anything new.
After the next generation, the only one of the two that will still be making consoles will be Sony, and you have to have exceptionally poor eyesight not to see this coming...
I disagree. MS have reshuffled studios, acquired countless studios, have made several moves to secure their future in this space, and have an impressive portfolio that they're drawing from on a consistently impressive basis. They're in this for the long haul and I can't wait to see what is yet to come. There's no way they're leaving the console space but I guess all we can do bar disagree until the gen after next is revisit these remarks when that time comes 🥰
We'll just have to agree to disagree, @Kaloudz. I won't change your belief in this utopia that you have. As you say, watch this space. I believe I am correct based on purely common sense. I do not share your faith. My only hope is that I get to live long enough to say I told you so!* 😉
*Though I also would like to be proven wrong! What a conundrum...! 😂
In purely financial terms, @Fishmasterflex96, I agree with you. In terms of survivability of Microsoft as a console maker, I disagree. Only time will tell, I guess...
I entirely agree, @x3King84. Any game that has Live Service elements will prosper by going to the PlayStation. The hope is that Microsoft plough that money back into their games, and not just the pockets of their shareholders.
What I really don't want to see is skins, or DLC being specific to the PlayStation. That would be a real kick in the teeth for the loyal Xbox gamer...
@Fiendish-Beaver but Phil Spencer himself has stated they aren’t going to try to get people to leave their platforms for Xbox so they have nothing to gain by not putting all their games everywhere at launch.
I agree, @Fishmasterflex96. In terms of games sales, they'll make a vast fortune.
However, keeping their loyal Xbox gamers interested in remaining with Xbox? That is a whole other matter! Why buy two consoles, when you can buy just one? And the fewer people that buy an Xbox, the fewer people that subscribe to the Game Pass. The fewer people that subscribe to Game Pass, the more likely it is to cease to exist.
Microsoft had, at one point in time, expected to hit 100 million Game Pass subscribers by 2030. Reports and rumours would now suggest that not only has that figure stalled at 30 million, but it may well be falling too.
Personally, my bet is that instead of hitting 100 million subscribers by 2030, the Service will cease to exist by then. Once GP disappears, that is another reason to move over to the PlayStation because they would be the only ones to be offering such a service then...
@Fiendish-Beaver Microsoft doesn’t care about their hardware sales. They obviously are going to continue to make hardware but their priority is in software. Their hardware is dying. Main reason why we are seeing them try so hard to increase pc game pass and mobile. Just saying that the best thing for the Microsoft gaming studios teams is prioritizing launching everywhere to make these games and teams as sustainable as they can. Hardware doesn’t mean ***** nowadays, they threw in the towel of meaningfully competing in that market and now their priorities need to shift
@Fiendish-Beaver I certainly hope we're both around to see it bud. I'd like you to come over and sit in Utopia with me lol.
