It's old school in the best way, it feels like a 360 era corridor shooter. Kill waves of tyranids, door opens and you move to the next area to do the same thing. I'm absolutely loving it
Game is definitely on its last legs, most of the shelf space in store is taken up with board games and collectables with small shelves dedicated to each console. I've hardly been in one since they stopped doing midnight releases years ago.
This game is sweatier than a fat blokes sack on a hot summers day. It's hard to enjoy an objective based match when your team is locked down In the spawn getting 1 shot by camping snipers.
@NEStalgia "Yes, but why would anyone do that? Why would anyone download a secondary, tertiary app to mix their purchases between stores without that store offering an incentive to do so?"
I would definitely download and play mobile games if they had achievements that tied to my main account.
It might actually get me to see what games like Candy Crush are all about.
As long as it was more powerful than the Switch I would happily jump on an Xbox handheld. The PS Portal is amazing but limited as its streaming only so tied to a decent wifi connection
I was a little disappointed with it, the gameplay felt quite dated to me - like a 360 era corridor shooter. May give it another go once I'm bored of Diablo 4
Definitely not one of the most optimised games but I really enjoyed Redfall. So much so, it was actually my most played game of 2023 according to my year in stats.
I was on the fence as to pick this up or not and ended up subscribing to ubi+ for a month Instead of dropping £60 on the game. So glad I did as Avatar wasn't for me, but on the plus side I'm really enjoying Mirage.
I was super excited to play this, went to Asda to pick it up andit was sold out, it was too cold and wet for traipsing around to other stores se went home empty handed. On the plus side when I got home I found that its on Ubisoft plus - so it ended up costing me significantly less for a months subscription than a straight out purchase - silver lining and all that.
Xbox has been my primary console this gen but I did impulse buy a PS5 to play Stray - and then it ended up coming over to xbox anyway . On the positive side I have enjoyed playing through some of the Sony exclusives like Horizon and GoW so it wasn't a total waste of money.
@ZuneTattooGuy I cancelled my sub because these last few months have been dull, just loads of indies (which I prefer ro play on Switch) since Exoprimal, which got boring fast and is pretty dead already looking at the lack of LFG posts.
I'm really looking forward to Stalker 2 but it keeps getting delayed and Silksong which is MIA again. My favourite genre is Looter shooters so I have gone back to play warframe until something worrhwhile drops because I don't need a sub for that
@Markatron84 @Darylb88 @Dan1283 Couldn't the same be said for the fan boys running and giving it solid 10's. That's why I love aggregate sites, it balances the extremes and gives an overall score based on everyone opinions
It's going to be interesting to see what kind of negative comments are classed as "review bombing". I'm sure there are going to be plenty of people who are dissatisfied with the 30fps choice and leave negative comments, is criticism of poor performance justified or a review bomb?
I actually really like the new dash, all the tabs I need are easily accessible at the top of the screen and it allows more screen space for the animated background.
I'm not normally a fan of Walking Sims but loved every minute of Stray. Will likely pick it up on Xbox to play through again with the added bonus of a fresh achievement list

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 8-9)
Monster Hunter Wilds for me with some Road 96 thrown in for good measure
Re: Starship Troopers: Extermination Launches To Zero Xbox Reviews, But Here Are Some First Impressions
I was tempted to pick this up but lack of any news or reviews put me off.
Re: Poll: If You Bought It, What Do You Think Of Space Marine 2 So Far?

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 21-22)
@ozkrmz I love Code Vein, one of my favourite souls likes. Being able to switch between builds to suit the enemy/environment was amazing.
This weekend I'm playing through Space Marine 2, loving the old school corridor shooter feel.
Re: Noobs, Rejoice - Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree's Final Boss Has Finally Been Nerfed
I loved the base game and had 100% it but didn't enjoy the dlc at all, didn't even finish it as I got bored and moved onto other games.
Re: Elden Ring Shadow Of The Erdtree Sells Silly Amount Of Copies In Just Three Days
Bought it day 1 but waiting for a friend to get back from holiday to play it as we played through the base game together.
Re: New Xbox Showcase Rumour Hints At Plenty Of Surprises This Sunday
Hopefully we hear something about Silksong. Fingers crossed for a shadow drop - we can dream can't we 😆

Re: Ubisoft Details How Skill-Based Matchmaking (SBMM) Works In XDefiant
Not sure if my reflexes have dulled since I last played an online shooter but I'm getting killed before I even see where people are shooting from.
Re: Xbox Mobile Store Launches This July With Its Own 'First Party Portfolio'

As long as it was more powerful than the Switch I would happily jump on an Xbox handheld.

Re: Lollipop Chainsaw Remake Will Be Getting A Full Reveal Soon, Says Designer
I really hope this does well and opens up the possibility of a Killer 7 remake
Re: Poll: How Are You Getting On With Evil West On Xbox Game Pass?
I was a little disappointed with it, the gameplay felt quite dated to me - like a 360 era corridor shooter.
May give it another go once I'm bored of Diablo 4
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 30-31)
Diablo 4 for me, hopefully some of my friends will also be playing and we can blast through the campaign in co-op
Re: PAW Patrol World Is Available Today With Xbox Game Pass (March 7)
Hopefully this is going to be another easy 1000gs like Bluey last month
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 2-3)
I'm going to be giving Gangs of Sherwood a go while it's free for the weekend.
Re: Poll: What Do You Think Of Dead Island 2 On Xbox Game Pass?
I'm enjoying it but the lack of reflection in mirrors and glass is a little bit jarring and keeps ruining the emersion.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 24-25)
I've just started a new playthrough on Elden Ring so will be playing that in-between bouts of hitting zombies with golf clubs on Dead Island 2
Re: Report: Ubisoft's Skull & Bones Gets Off To Slow Start Despite Free Trial On Xbox
I tried the beta but didn't enjoy the sailing. I have a friend who bought into it and loves it, must be a marmite type game.
Re: Talking Point: Which Apps Do You Use The Most On Your Xbox?
Crunchyroll, but that's only because it's not available on my TV.
Re: Poll: What Do You Think Of Palworld On Xbox Game Pass So Far?
@Martsmall I didn't know you could do that thank you. I still have the save so will try it out when I get on.
Re: Poll: What Do You Think Of Palworld On Xbox Game Pass So Far?
I was really enjoying it until I got stuck in a wall after nearly 10 hours playtime and need to start from scratch
Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Favourite Xbox Memories Of The Past 12 Months?
Definitely not one of the most optimised games but I really enjoyed Redfall.
So much so, it was actually my most played game of 2023 according to my year in stats.
Re: Talking Point: What Was The Greatest Xbox 360 Game Of All Time?
@JetmanUK Deadly Premonition is one of my favourite games, it's the closest we've gotten to a Twin Peaks game!
Lollipop Chainsaw is another underrated 360 title that often gets overlooked as just another simple fan service game.
Re: Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown Impresses The Critics Ahead Of January's Launch
@ZuneTattooGuy that's the RRP I quoted, you can pick most of them up for around £5 on sale nowadays.
Re: These Five Games Are Finally Making Us Consider Ubisoft Plus On Xbox
I've just subscribed for a month to play Avatar and AC Mirage which was a bargain.
Doubt I will keep the sub active next month though.
Re: Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown Impresses The Critics Ahead Of January's Launch
@Kaloudz Hollow Knight is £12, Axiom Verge is £16, Ori is £15 and Blasphemous is £20!
This new prince of persia would need to be something exceptional to justify a price tag of £45 compared with these other classic metroidvanias
Re: Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown Impresses The Critics Ahead Of January's Launch
The trailer gave strong hollow knight vibes but it's way overpriced for a metroidvania. Will definitely be waiting for a sale

Re: Talking Point: Which Xbox Game Would You Love To Play Again For The First Time?
Lollipop Chainsaw. One of Suda's most bonkers titles and an absolute joy to play.
Such a shame it never got the BC treatment and I'm stuck waiting on the remake to play again.
Re: Poll: Have This Week's Xbox Game Pass Releases Lived Up To The Hype?
Nothing that's going to stop me dropping down to the Core Tier for gamepass next month.
Re: Xbox Boss Warns Of Potential Delays With ActiBlizz Titles On Game Pass
@Jaxx420 I played Outriders when it first cane out, it was fun but didn't have much endgame grind if I remember correctly.
Re: Talking Point: Have You Ever Bought An Xbox For One Specific Game?
Xbox has been my primary console this gen but I did impulse buy a PS5 to play Stray - and then it ended up coming over to xbox anyway . On the positive side I have enjoyed playing through some of the Sony exclusives like Horizon and GoW so it wasn't a total waste of money.

Re: Xbox Boss Warns Of Potential Delays With ActiBlizz Titles On Game Pass
Gamepass is looking less and less value for money, especially given that I have no interest in Starfield.

Re: Poll: What Do You Think Of 'Exoprimal' On Xbox Game Pass?
I was a little disappointed but that's my fault, from the trailers I was expecting a looter shooter like Anthem against Dinosaurs not an Overwatch style hero shooter.
It feels pretty generic and I've already lost interest in it.
Re: Xbox Is Expecting The 'Next Generation Of Consoles' To Begin In 2028
I'm actually not that interested in the next gen of consoles when the current ones can't even release new games fully optimised.
I think I'm reaching a point where I'm burnt out on gaming, there have been many more disappointing releases than ones to actually get excited about recently.

@GuyinPA75 I've addressed this in a previous comment.
Re: Todd Howard Explains Why Starfield At 30FPS Will 'Feel Great' On Xbox Series X|S
@Trmn8r most PS5 games like Horizon, GoW Ragnarok and Miles Morales manage 60fps just fine and those are openworld games. Ok Spiderman isn't massive but there's a lot going on during fights.
Re: Todd Howard Explains Why Starfield At 30FPS Will 'Feel Great' On Xbox Series X|S
@Zoidpilot4 I get annoyed because we were promised upto 120fps gaming with the Series X console. I went out and bought a £1500 Samsung QLED 120hz TV to go alongside my new console in preparation and now 2 years later the Xbox exclusives don't even run at 60fps.
It's really jarring when I swap from the PlayStation that runs games like Horizon at 60fps to Xbox that runs games like Redfall at half the frame rate
