Re: Video: 10 Xbox Games To Play If You Like The Look Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom

@Kaloudz I think it's pronounced youbesoft but I still say ooobesoft

I think it's just my London accent

I pronounce mario with the "ma" sound like map rather than march

I pronounce Ryu with the Ry sound like sky rather than we

And I pronounce Yoshi like Yo-shee and not like yosch-ee

I picked those out because those are the ones I know I say incorrectly, at least compared to most people 😂

Re: Another Four Games Will Leave Xbox Game Pass Soon (January 31)

I tried Telling Lies before Xmas after playing and enjoying Immortality. I couldn't really get into TL though, it seemed a bit more obtuse than Immortality. I don't think I really had the patience for it. Maybe if it was for game club, I'd have been able to give it a better go with all the support, tips and experiences of the community.

@themightyant I played a couple levels of it but I wasn't really in the right head space for it so I decided to let it go and deleted it.

It was ok. It's a first person photo-em-up. You can pet the doggies and you have ridiculously long arms when you do, especially the little pups. It's quite cute.

Haven't got much to lose by giving it a try at least!

Happy New year @FraserG and the rest of the PX staff. Always had a blast here and I love the community this site has fostered after it's reboot.

Best wishes for everyone 🧡

Re: How Would You Grade The Xbox Series X|S Generation So Far?

ralphdibny

I'd hate to give it a letter but I would say it has been "Satisfactory" on both sides.

Xbox has been my main machine for a while now. I play most of my games there unless it's ps exclusive and even then I haven't felt terribly compelled to get a PS5 yet as I can probably wait for a price drop before I even have time to get around to any of the PS5 exclusives. A Metal Gear Solid game would change that for me though.

Generally, game pass has been great. But that started before the Series' came out. Most games I have played on GP. I've played through multiple Yakuza games, a lot of our game club choices and found a few other surprises over the last couple years. Highly worth it.

Series X + GPU has been so reasonably priced compared to the competition through a combination of a half price Series X (other half paid for by Rewards points) and 3 years of GPU for £130 (using the Gold>Ultimate Conversion trick which I've used twice now)

Having said that, if more information was available about the new ps plus at the time and I had tons of money (which I didn't and still don't), I would have bought years of PS Now to get the half price premium tier for the foreseeable future. But without a PS5 and without a mountain of spare cash available, I'm not terribly sad that I have missed out just yet.

Re: What's All This About A Cheaper, Ad-Filled Version Of Xbox Game Pass?

ralphdibny

@themightyant sounds more like this tier would be YouTube levels of ads. At least an ad before but while not mentioned, I wonder if ads would interrupt the game

While I've always supported the notion of removing the ad tiles from the home screen, the nightmare scenario I just envisioned made me so physically sick that I'm almost grateful that it's only ad tiles for now 😂

Re: Microsoft Exploring New Graphics Options To Reduce Power Consumption On Xbox

ralphdibny

Maybe it's different over in the States but in the UK, energy bills have shot through the roof due to various reasons and that was the even before Russia started playing silly buggers with their pipeline which has only exacerbated the issue.

I don't think I'd use an option like this but I thought I would provide some context to the reasons why MS may be investigating it.

Re: Four Xbox Games We've Given 'Outstanding' 10/10 Scores To In 2022

ralphdibny

Ooo I didn't know you gave Immortality a 10.

The other day, my partner asked me what rating I'd give Immortality considering she watched me play it.

She seemed surprised when I told her that I'd give it a solid 9. I explained that it did what it set it out to do. Gameplay wise, it had modest ambition that was excellently achieved.

It was unique in its game mechanic. The films were mostly entertaining especially as they ramped up to their finales and the secret 4th story was intriguing.

Collecting all the clips was fun and my favourite part of the game
