Re: Xbox Turned Down The Chance To Make Exclusive Marvel Games In 2014

edusoares

@NahImgood Okay, just answer me some questions:

If sony is so right about their exclusive console titles and Microsoft Xbox everywhere services strategy is all because they lost market for sony then why:

A: Sony is releasing their exclusives titles like Horizon Zero Dawn and God of War on PC.

B: Sony has just remodeled PS Plus to be more Game Pass- like, including their streaming service PS Now, that allow people, yes, stream PS titles everywhere.

I don't see how think Sony has destroyed Xbox when they just following Microsoft steps

"...But if he can't get out of his own way and hire someone who knows how to manage development..."

He did, his name is Matt Booty ,Head of Xbox Game Studios.

He just want the spotlight, had nothing better to say so blamed Phil for something has nothing to do with him. Phil Manages all Microsoft Gaming Division, not studios, this is Matt Booty responsibility.

Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Wild Predictions For The Xbox Games Showcase?

edusoares

If it is to go wild I wish they show a Banjo-Kazooie/Tooie remake and a sequel, Halo Infinite Campaign DLC and also Quantum Break 2, I would love that.

Now being more realistic, I would like some release dates for games previously announced as well as games releasing this year on Xbox as so far we only have Starfield and maybe Redfall.

Re: Reaction: Should Game Pass Ultimate Add Free Trials For All Xbox Games?

edusoares

@sakanakami I agree it shouldn't be forced to create a demo, but it helps a lot to be able to try a game before buy.

One idea would be to enforce some kind of 'store level' trial, where the developer inform how long they allow their game to be played for free. Usally EA do this on EA Play, you can play the game for x amount of hours for free. This would already help a lot without sacrificing development time and the developer would be free to set how much time, with a 10 minutes minimum.

Xbox already has a system like that, it would be a matter of enforce its use, I don't think it would have any negative effect on developers, as there would be no need for special codes or anything.

Re: Xbox Game Pass In 2022: The Full List Of Everything Announced So Far

edusoares

There are lots of games I'm interested in this list, and game pass is being great. Majority of the games I've finished last year were on Game Pass, this year I'm using it less, but it still worth it.

Finished this year on Game Pass:
Paw Patrol: Save Adventure Bay
The Last Kids on Earth
Halo Infinite (last year on Xbox, this year again on PC)

Currently Playing:
Crossfire X
Tunic

Games I want to play but haven't started or isn't out yet:
Edge of Eternity
Escape Academy
Chinatown Detective Agency
Life is Strange: True Colors
Redfall
Starfield
A Plague Tale: Requiem
Flintlock
Bugsnax
Trek to Yomi
Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising

It is great so far.

Re: Microsoft Reportedly Working On Smaller, More Power Efficient Series X Chip

edusoares

@Killercrab Actually, Brad Sams is a pretty reliable source for all things Microsoft. He was one of the first to say Halo Infinite multiplayer would release before the campaing. At the time, 343 said he was lying, just to some time later announce that exactly.

And that wasn't the first thing he said was right, if you go to his channel on youtube you'll see his 'guesses' are pretty accurate.

Re: Xbox Is Trying To 'Undercut And Dominate' The Games Industry, Argues TV Host

edusoares

I didn't know ot was possible to say so many dumb things at once, but Adam did.

Tencent, Amazon, Sony, Nintendo, TakeTwo, Embracer Group, Square-enix....

There are so many publishers and big studios on the marker that it makes this "concern" look stupid.

If Microsoft is undercutting the market, what Embracer group and Tencent are doing?!

It looks like to me he is just salty microsoft is doing well.

Re: Dying Light 2's Day One Patch Aims To Fix Long List Of Issues

edusoares

I always see comments like "the game was rushed", "why not finish the game before" when this kind of news show up, so I'll try to explain how things works, because people thing it's simple and easy to solve those things.

When a company send their game to Xbox, PS or whatever, there is a review process that the company will do before allow the game on the store. This review process is different for every company. The company reviewer will check if everything fine, not bugs or anything, but guidelines (each company has its own guidelines) about minimum acceptable quality. This usualy require the developer to send a build months earlier, because review takes time, as MS and Sony receive tons of games to review everyday. If the company reply that one of the guidelines wasn't met, the developer has to fix and send a new build for another review. So they can't simply send the game when it's ready, thats why all games have Day One Patches, because they send the build to approval while working on fixes they know need to be ready for launch, but they wouldn't be able to send companies in time, so they split, send a rough built enough for guideline approval, then send patch for players to have the fix Day One or as close as they can get the patch out.

And there is one more thing, every company has it release days, usually 2 or 3 times a week, so after approval, they have to wait for the store to update for the game or fix to be available.

Re: Rare's Everwild Is Reportedly 'A Real Mess', Still Being Figured Out

edusoares

@uptownsoul Yes, it might be bad management. My point is that we shouldn't even be aware of that. That's a internal matter leaked by an insider, it's not something we were supposed to know about. Imagine the team already in a rough time with development and now their issues are made public and everything they go through on the office is now everywhere. This might make more harm than help the project in the end.

Re: Rare's Everwild Is Reportedly 'A Real Mess', Still Being Figured Out

edusoares

The problem with all of this is the complaint and worry about some information we shouldn't even been aware of.
Development process for any project is difficult enough without external interference like this. This just create a bad environment for the game to be developed as I'm sure some people will stalk the developers online over this reports and some will make threats as usual, and again, about something we weren't meant to know about, it's a internal matter of the studio. They showed up a trailer for the game and that is it. Now we wait for gameplay when its ready, and not make a fuss about a game that is in early development. Just as a heads up, Horizon Zero Down was conceived in 2010, development started in 2011 and the game released in 2017. Guess what?! Game Development takes time, it's not something you click a button and it's all done! Most of the time when a trailer is showed at early stage of a game is not for the fans to get excited, but for professionals to get interest in the project and join the team, by the way, Rare is still hiring for the game.

Re: Cat Ears Have Some Players Worried About The Future Of Halo Infinite

edusoares

I don't know why so much complain about 'Halo Universe'. Its no like the cat ears are changing Halo lore or anything, it's just a cosmetic for multiplayer. I could understand if it was Master Chief wearing those cat ears, but it is not that. Don't have one yet 'cause the price is off, but don't see the problem at all with those kind of cosmetics, and by the number of people using it, most of them don't see a problem either.

Re: Ori Director Reveals Why His Next Game Won't Be Published By Xbox

edusoares

Why is Microsoft is the only one to be call out on that?! All those years with PlayStation exclusives and not a single complain. Microsoft has to do nothing about other platforms, her platforms are Xbox, PC and Cloud. period.

If we start to call out for multiplatform games lets call out everyone, Sony and Nintendo as well. Not only Microsoft.

But no, we can't mess with PS Exclusive, cant mess with Nintendo exclusives, but Xbox should go multiplatform. That's so tiresome.

Funny part is that he complain about the game not being on PS but when Microsoft offered tons of cash for the exclusivity they signed the deal.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Will Be 'Perceived As A Very Good Game' In The Long Run, Says CDPR

edusoares

@Dezzy70 "People say this but the more series x you sell the more gamepass you sell etc and the more your gaming eco system grows.'

I think their point is that Microsoft don't need Xbox to sell game pass. They can sell game pass for PC, Android, iOS devices and so on.

So for then, Xbox consoles are just another part of a bigger eco system.
See, after chatting with 3 of my friends about game pass, all of them subscribed to the service, none of them have an Xbox.

Game Pass is becoming easier to sell each day, so I don't see Xbox hardware sales getting in the way.

Also, I don't see Microsoft pulling out from Hardware market anytime soon, as Xbox Hardware are profitable according to microsoft recent reports, despite selling less than PS5. So, if they can profit both ways, why would they leave the market?!

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Will Be 'Perceived As A Very Good Game' In The Long Run, Says CDPR

edusoares

Actually, as far as Steam goes they already have a good reputation. 'Recent reviews' are 'Very Positive' and 'All Reviews' are with 'Mostly Positive' status, so at least for PC players the experience been pretty good.

I've played on Series S at launch period and my experience was really good as well, had not many issues and the ones I had weren't game breaking for me.

I've played it for more than 160h, made all achievmentes, missiosn, sidequests, bough all cars and explored everything, there was some glitches here and there, but nothing much concerning. Overall was a great experience for me, so what CDPR is saying kind of makes sense to me.

Re: Xbox Boss Phil Spencer Says He's Wary Of 'Exploitative' NFT Game Projects

edusoares

@Medic_Alert yes, I agree, digital copies can be 100% cloned, so it essentially has no difference for us, but I also try to see this from the author perspective. The author of a digital art publish it on social media, someone copies de image, remove watermark and sell on the internet. With NFT, the author could easily prove the ownership of the asset, and that his work was stolen.

Re: Xbox Boss Phil Spencer Says He's Wary Of 'Exploitative' NFT Game Projects

edusoares

@Carck the companies involved says its like art. For example, you have a original piece of art, a paint, there are a lot of other copies of that paint, but only the original retains the high market value. Thats exactly what NFT want to do with digital assets. Be able to identify a original digital asset, so even if it gets copied hundreds or millions of times, you know what the original is and it retains that high market value, since you have a kind of certificate (nft), that states originality of that asset.

Re: Trade-In: GAME Is Offering An Xbox Series S With FIFA 22 From £85

edusoares

I'm glad with my Series S. It is the only reason I'm on next-gen since launch as Series X prices are real high here in Brazil.

I think Series S is made for countries like Brazil, india and others where MSRP are really agressive.

I'll leave some information for comparison here:

Brazil minimum wage is: R$ 1.100 (~ $192 USD today)
Series X at launch costed : R$ 4.999 (~ $920 USD today)
Series S on the other hand costed R$ 2.999 (~ $550 USD today)

I've had some discounts and cash back stuff and paid R$ 2.199 (~ $400 USD) at the time on Series S.

Problem in Brazil is that games are seeing by the government as toys, and toys here are the products with highest taxes, with creates all this mess. From the R$ 4.999 (~$920 USD) retail price, at least R$ 1.665 (~ $305 USD) are from taxes.

for those reasons Series S is a total success here.
