Back in 2018, Xbox made a fairly high-profile purchase when it acquired Obsidian Entertainment, the team behind Fallout: New Vegas, The Outer Worlds and others. Truth be told though, this development studio has been active on Xbox for many years before Microsoft's recent acquisition.
The team began its Xbox journey with Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2 on OG Xbox, before dropping the likes of Alpha: Protocol and the aforementioned Fallout: New Vegas on Xbox 360. Since then, Obsidian have been prolific to say the least!
In terms of what's happened post-acquisition, we've seen all different kinds of projects. The Outer Worlds actually launched as a multiplatform game after Xbox bought them, followed by a couple of Xbox exclusives in Grounded and Pentiment. Next up is the big one though - Avowed arrives as an Xbox exclusive fantasy RPG in Fall 2024.
So, which Obsidian Xbox release has been your favourite over the years? We're not limiting this to just exclusives here - any Obsidian title that's launched on Xbox counts!

I haven’t played many of there games. I did play Grounded and ended up really liking it. Fun concept, I should check out some of their other games.
Definitely New Vegas. The game’s a 10.
Unfortunately none of their games have stuck with me being honest.
I’m hoping Avowed may as it looks ok for me, but time will tell.
KOTOR II was my vote, but Stick of Truth is excellent as well. This was a bit of a challenge, and there are still a couple games that I haven't played but really want to get to at some point(Pillars, Grounded, and F:New Vegas).
Obsidian never misses but i went with Grounded. That game is incredible.
New Vegas... what a game
Do more of these types of polls. Where you ask what our favorite game from every single game company is. These are fun to do and see what people like to play. Also, you should include more engaging things for us to do on this site. Like do a gaming bracket for top game of the month or something. And maybe giveaways for DLC codes or Vbucks or something fun for doing a multiple choice quiz or something. Or dont give anything away and just do some multiple choice quizes, that would be fun.
I've not played many of their games so i went with Outer Worlds and Stick of Truth was really good too.
new vegas definitive edition is easily one of the greatest games of all time.
Grounded was surprisingly great, despite my dislike of survival games.
But Outer Worlds takes the crown.
Not bloated, just a perfectly balanced bite sized rpg.
They have developed so many great games, that it would be unfair and difficult to choose just one.

Probably fallout new vegas or stick of truth for me but what impressed me most about this list was the sheer variety. Obsidian will dabble in literally anything and it’s super cool to see.

Would love to have voted for New Vegas but I can't vote for a game that released with so many bugs that were never fixed so Stick of Truth it is.

NV is a GOAT, but I still love Alpha Protocol. It was more miss than hit, but it had charm and spunk. Great idea, and man I'd love a redo.
Despite all the problems the game had, mostly due to a ridiculously short development, i'd vote for New Vegas.
Grounded is the most fun game they've ever made and the amount of hours I've spent playing with friends easily puts at the top for me.
Pretty much has to be New Vegas, one of my all time favourites.
Haven't played many. So while I respect their RPGs or New Vegas, Pentiment, Grounded and Outer Worlds. Sadly I don't know Skyforge or the other one they co-developed well enough.
I care for original titles so I wouldn't Fallout New Vegas. Is it good yes but I think their more they made them titles are more worth looking at then a series they helped support
I don't know I really liked Alpha Protocol. Granted I have it on PS3 but it was on 360 of course. It's awkward in areas but I like the ideas and themes it had, the skills and the conversations were fun. The mirror reflection too in the hotel rooms. Picking missions and some were missions some not.
The vibe was cool but while not exactly Mass Effect like you could compare them but they have really interesting differences about them.
The list of great games they’ve made is longer than “Long **** Johnsons’ ****, and he had a ******* long ****”.

A bit sad that the only 2 I've played are New Vegas and KOTOR.
Have just started Grounded though, liking it so far.
I went with kotor 2, but that just beat Alpha Protocol, imo. Both games brilliant
New Vagas and Outer Worlds are definately my picks and both are great games.
I really dont care much for the others - except stick of truth, which was a riot!
They are definately a jewel in Xboxs crown though!
I have high hopes for Avowed, even if I'm getting Skyrim vibes - I'll take a newer skyrim thanks!
