Didn't realise Judas wasn't exclusive (shows how powerful the console-specific marketing can be given I read up more than a casual gamer), that's cool will probably take a look
@Widey85 This is why we do these roundups, to try and raise awareness of the non-exclusive stuff
Assuming Dave the Diver will make its way to Xbox at some point as well.
Judas looked great. They are certainly not stepping away from their comfort zone, but when your comfort zone is Bioshock, thats a good thing!
Well death stranding 2 is probably the only game this generation that may well let to but a PS5... The first one is a masterpiece!
Watched the show got a five from me average
The Xbox show just pipped it getting a 6.
But both left me a bit limp overall really, I think Indy gave the Xbox that one point lead.
Oh well nintendo to go at some point. I hope they are going to rescue my year with Switch 2 and a new Mario 3d world and metriod prime 4.
@Balta666 first one is on pc, second one will probably be on pc soon enough as well.
@Friendly you're gonna need a very expensive pc to run it though,otherwise its gonna look like redfall 😏
@Widey85 Sony always tries to trick people into thinking third party games are exclusive... Sleezy marketing, just show a game trailer with PS watermark and end with the "Playstation" phrase...
@Trmn8r yeah because xbox don't do that at all 😂😂 you think at a Sony state of play they're gonna show the xbox logo at the end of a trailer ,don't be ridiculous,didn't see the ps logo at the end of the visions of mana trailer
@Trmn8r
It’s good business and in the top days of the xbox360 Microsoft used to do it all the time, hence one reason the Xbox360 was so successful.
Microsoft just don’t bother with that now or console sales really.
But they good do easily, they have the money and power.
@Trmn8r
Like Microsoft also then. Microsoft is also doing 2 days announcement exclusive, so neither Sony or Nintendo can say games are coming to them.
But that I guess you dont dislike.
PS5 is getting the better Kojima games and we get the interactive movie game by Jordan Peele..
Both Xbox and PS showed some good games across their two shows.
@Friendly I know and it was where I have played it (on game pass although I also have the director's cut on EGS), but I am not a fan on gaming on my PC setting nowadays.
@Trmn8r Yikes…someone hasn’t tuned in to literally any Xbox showcase ever. It might surprise you to find out they don’t end the third party trailers by saying “Btw this will also be on PlayStation and Switch!!!”
@Trmn8r lol like MS doesnt. They wouldnt let Sega announce games for other platforms even though thats where like 90+% of of players were
@CaptainCluck We have no idea what that game will be like. Certainly not enough to automatically say it’s going to be worse. I’m cautiously optimistic about it.

@Trmn8r "Sony always tries to trick people into thinking third party games are exclusive... Sleezy marketing, just show a game trailer with PS watermark and end with the "Playstation" phrase..."
On Push Square they tend to do the same with multiplatform games, even with games that were obviously multiplatform like Mortal Kombat 1.
"triggered the Sony boys hard. Imagine perusing Xbox sites to defend your console like that"
They lurk on Pure Xbox just to bash Xbox and defend Sony on every thread. Hold on! 🤣
@awp69 I hope for Xbox fans' sake that it does. It's an incredible game.
@Kaloudz yes, Sonic X Shadow Generations was also my game of the show. And yes I do feel very dirty and utterly ashamed.
Dang I just wanted to say Judas looks cool. More of the same Bioshock gameplay, which I believe hasn't been replicated once over the last 12 years.
They have a 1st party game, mlb the show 24, coming march 19th and didn't bother to even mention it at the state of play. One of the only 1st party games coming this year i might add. That game went multi platform and they pretend it doesn't exist anymore.
Gamepass markets the Playstation game better than Playstation does.
Judas and Dragons Dogma 2 were the only things that really looked good to me and both are coming to Xbox. Silent Hill 2 looked just plain bad and Ronin looked terribly generic. Stellar Blade looked decent enough, but not my kind of game. I absolutely hated Death Stranding so I couldn’t care less for a sequel.
All in all, another disappointing showing from Sony for me. Given it’s gonna take a bit to recover from Ryan’s terrible decision to go all in on live service. 2023 and 2024 could very well be the worst 2 year stretch I have ever had with PlayStation and I have been gaming on PlayStation since the very beginning.
At least there is no release date for Silent Hill 2. That gives me hope that they still have plenty of development time to turn it around. That was the one game I was most excited about tonight and it was a massive disappointment.

Was it just me or was this show highly focused on quantity over quality? Also a lot of Japanese based content. I did not see a single game there that made me think I need to dust off my PS5 to get ready for a game. The big gun Sony Studios seem to be MIA right now.
Graphically the only really good console exclusive was Death Stranding 2. And after playing the first game, I am not interested in playing the second one (not that it was bad, just not my kind of game). I can just wait til it comes to GamePass on PC if I really feel the urge to play it as Death Stranding 1 was on GamePass PC for a while.
The multi-platform games had a few good showings - aka Dragon's Dogma 2 and Sonic.
@Trmn8r yeah no one’s mad though…
I tuned in for the rumoured Metro game reveal but the one showed was a VR spin-of, unfortunately my interest in VR gaming is below zero 😞. Dragons Dogma and Judas were great 👍.

@NeoRatt DS2 is not going to pc gamepass the first one only came because Sony sold the PC publishing rights to 505 games. That won't be happening again.
Yeah. Dragon's Dogma 2 have definetly peaked my interest. I'll decide after reviews.
...I see the Sony has a sleeper agent within the PX moderating team, I jest,
I jest 😉.
Was average. Maybe slightly ahead of the last Xbox one. Both probably 6 out of 10. It’s gonna be a slow year for me.
Hoping for some shadow drops or unexpected 3rd party titles.
@NeoRatt
They're probably all busy trying to pivot away from all the live service games Sony supposedly isn't interested in anymore.
@OldGamer999 Can I ask what left you limp about the Xbox direct? They said upfront what they were showing, they showed more than that, and all the showings were strong at the very least. Genuinely curious…
The Developer_Direct is going to keep disappointing if people are expecting summer showcase levels of reveals.
For the FF Rebirth showcase, that can’t really disappoint anyone unless they are expecting anything other than FF Rebirth, which they shouldn’t.
Sonic was the only thing I was interested in lol
Nothing for me, but might check the old SG if it's still available.
Loved it myself. Lots of titles I'll play when they arrive.
But I wouldnt expect genuine assesments of these shows on sites like pure and push, where theres too much 'cool to be meh' and people get too defesive about their plastic toy of choice.
I'm excited to see Avowed and Indy on Xbox, but theres many more Ill be playing from the PS show, fortunately some of it multi plat too. It will be interesting to see if/when they show some 1st party Sony stuff.
All the hairs on my arms were raised as Hideo confirmed he is working on the spirital successor to MGS. As a proper long time gamer (OK, I mean as an old man), that was the reveal of the show for me.
@Banjo- Imagine defending a comment that bashes a console company, for doing something that your favourite console company does also,and then bashing a gaming website for doing something that your favourite gaming website also does,that's some special kind of fanboy nonsense.
@K1LLEGAL
It’s personal taste really
Hellblade not for me
Avowed, ok ish
Indy seemed good but was expecting third person like tomb raider, however let’s see how it’s plays, it could be really good.
I know I’m impatient but my gaming is based around on all three consoles top AAA games at their best they can be.
So in no real order.
Forza Horizon 5, Xbox
TOTK, Switch
GOWR, PS5
So I pick the best for each console and play them.
Anything not coming up to my terrible high specifications, usually never gets played or purchased.
I mean played Starfield as I have GPU, and did enjoy some aspects of it, but there would no way I would money for that game outright. It will probably be the same with Avowed on what I’ve seen so far. And similar with PS5 direct the games for 2024.
I like the big AAA games polished to hell and play to perfection with the best they can be on their respective consoles, anything less to me means, this game could be better and why isn’t it, what a waste.
@K1LLEGAL I think timing was the Developer Direct's biggest weak point. They did a January event to showcase a May game, a Summer game and 3 games releasing right at the end of the year making the event itself seem unnecessary (do something closer to launch instead).
Compare that to the State of Play which while it did have further out games (e.g. Death Stranding 2 releasing in 2025), it featured a large amount of games that were releasing by the end of April:
Yeah, just more average for me. Maybe when they decide to show up with some big first party stuff, but ...
@OldGamer999 Sure I get that, its ultimately personal preference. To me Avowed, Hellblade and Indiana Jones don’t need to look good, they just need to be fun and run well. I wish less of the “triple A” budget was spent on the photorealism and more on the game itself.
Hellblade for example looks absolutely incredible visually but it is meaningless if it’s not fun. That is where GOWR lost me too.
Hilarious to me that Avowed got knocked for its visuals when people try and hype of Rise of Ronin.
But Indiana Jones, man the Wolfenstein games are so much fun and this looks like a licensed version of those 🔥.
But it’s upto you what you play and get excited for of course. 👍
@Grumblevolcano they are two different “events”. The Developer_Direct showed what was coming in 2024 and if it does that each year I think that is enough. Xbox’s first party 2024 line-up starts in May, I guess, so not sure what else they should have shown? Plus Xbox seems to attend or put on more events throughout the year than Playstation. They already mentioned a World’s Edge event and an ABK event at some point.
(Using “event” for lack of a better word).
@K1LLEGAL
It’s not all about graphics, gameplay and precision control are probably more important.
Remember my most played console in 2023 was Switch, the worse graphics of them all, but the very best playable and control and development in game design and in game systems out of all the big three.
Judas looks like a Bioshock rip off
@ZuneTattooGuy Well it's made by the guy who created BioShock so there's that...
@OldGamer999 wow really? I mean they were two very different shows but i generally thought the xbox show was fantastic.

@SleeplessKnight
So he's a one trick pony?
@ZuneTattooGuy
He's not ripping anyone off. Hes expanding on his proven succesfull designs...
In the days where studios are being closed for investing in new IP's, you can hardly blame him for sticking close to his succesful IP of Bioshock. I'm personally well up for a new Bioshock, so I find Judas to be one of the better showings from sony's show.
@Titntin
Making the same thing over and over doesn't excite me. I wish a truly creative mind would step out of their comfort zone and show me something new they can think up. So as much as I want a new Bioshock game I also feel bad that in the span of the Xbox 360 - Xbox Series X the only thing he can come up with is Bioshock and Bioshock like games.
