Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 20-21)

SacredPYRO

I've got Dead Island 2 and NHL 24 ready to go on the box but since the gaming PC is up and running I've mainly been on that. Absolutely love the XCOM reboots and now I can play with mods so all my time right now is on XCOM Enemy Within with the Long War mod. Also Helldivers 2 because democracy won't spread itself.

Finishing up Two Point Campus DLC, just got the 3 medical schools left to do. I don't plan on starting anything else as I've got a gaming PC being delivered this week and I can't wait to jump in to Helldivers with the boys.

Does anybody have any PC specific game pass games they can recommend? Time to finally get full use out of my Ultimate subscription.

Started Tales of Arise, the story seems intriguing but I much prefer turn based battling, hopefully I'll get used to it.

Also playing Hawked, a F2P third person extraction shooter. It's quite a fun little game that's filling an itch since there was no new content for MWZ in season 2.

Recently got all the DLC for Two Point Campus in a sale so hoping to start ripping off some virtual students this weekend too.

Somehow trying to cram all that in to 2-3 hours gaming time I get in the evening.

Re: Sea Of Thieves Sets Sail On PS5 This April With Xbox & PC Crossplay

SacredPYRO

This is great news. I've said it before that SoT is (before you all start) in my opinion the best Xbox exclusive game.
It does have to be played with friends or family to get the most out of it but I have never had so much laughter on a game before.
I will try my hardest to get my PS only friends to dip into this.

Re: Game Pass Hits 34 Million Subs, Service Will Remain Exclusive To Xbox

SacredPYRO

@EvenStephen7 I love your post. I'm a big advocate for GP but I really, really get my monies worth out of it. But like you say, it isn't for everyone. One of my friends used to subscribe but as a casual gamer played maybe 1 or 2 games a year from the service so it was costing them a fortune for nothing.

I like that Microsoft have said "we don't want everybody as a subscriber" It still leaves the choice up to the consumer and giving consumers choice is never a bad thing.

Re: Talking Point: What Do You Expect To See From Microsoft's Update On The Future Of Xbox?

SacredPYRO

It's all getting a little bit silly isn't it? I love Xbox, been here since the start. I can play my games on my Xbox and if Xbox want to ship games on other platforms, cool. It means I have more games to play with more friends.

This is the first generation I haven't had a PS as I don't have time for more than one console anymore. Game Pass provides me with more than enough to play. While ever Game Pass is successful we'll still have Xbox hardware, after all the majority of their subscriptions are on Xboxs, I don't see what all the fuss is about.

I'm excited for this "business update" to see what's happening. Hoping for news on a new controller and mid gen console update.

Re: Talking Point: Has Xbox Done A Good Job With Gears Of War So Far?

SacredPYRO

@themightyant not that it's a bad score but I would have rated Tactics a lot higher than that.

I absolutely love the original trilogy, judgement was trash, 4 was meh but 5 seemed to be heading in the right direction again and I really did enjoy it. I hope they lose the open world ***** though, that seemed like needless filler. I prefer Gears in more claustrophobic spaces as I think it adds to the atmosphere and tension.

Re: Five Activision Games We Want To Become Xbox Backwards Compatible In 2024

SacredPYRO

@BacklogBrad obviously licensing is a big issue with all sorts of things in video games but those licenses would only need to be renewed if they planned on selling the game.

To make the game backwards compatible (for those who already own it) I'm pretty sure they would just need the IP holders permission. It would be a nice gesture from Xbox to start doing some of this without any financial returns from it.

Re: Call Of Duty: MW3 Players 'Grinded More Than A Full Plate' On Thanksgiving Holiday

SacredPYRO

@Rangers420 The OG MW2 has been fixed. Servers are great and plenty players online.

I for one am loving this CoD. They've hit a really nice balance, movement speed is great and the the TTK is just right. The zombies mode is great fun aswell, the threat zones mean it can be as chill or as hectic as you want it to be. Finished all the zombies missions yesterday and looking forward to more content with season 1.

Re: Todd Howard Reflects On Morrowind's 'Huge Success' On Xbox, Admits It Kept Bethesda Going

SacredPYRO

@LunarFlame17 completely agree. There was a poll on here a while ago for the best Bethesda game and I said it there. While Oblivion and Skyrim are both incredible games they will never top the wow factor of Morrowind. All that choice and freedom in a completely 3D open world, it was, as you say, a revelation.

Although I had an Xbox at the time but I had Morrowind on PC and the construction set was so easy to use even for a kid like me.

Re: Here Are The First Impressions Of The Call Of Duty: MW3 Campaign

SacredPYRO

Honestly, I'm quite enjoying it. More of the same really. The open combat zones are a good change of pace, especially on veteran when I can whittle down groups before engaging. I suppose it's how you play that makes a difference.

Not finished yet though so as reviews say I maybe disappointed with where the narrative goes.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 4-5)

SacredPYRO

@BacklogBrad how are you getting on with lamplighters league? I absolutely love the gameplay but the crashes are on another level.

I found it gets worse the more you play. Started out just crashing at mission ends, so a quick save before entering the endzone and I wasn't too bothered. Now it crashes on exiting a mission, starting a mission, saving the game and during missions, it's beyond a joke. I've also got a bug now where it won't save my game, all saved games load back to the same save. If you haven't experienced the crashes yet I suggest shelving the game until it's fixed or you'll just waste hours on it.
Again, love the gameplay but I don't think the Xbox version was tested at all.
