Absolutely loved the game originally but the control scheme left much to be desired. Played through it again a couple of years back but mapped out my own controls on the elite and it was an even better experience. Looking forward to this release.
I'm looking forward to Galacticare. Also want to try Avenue and I might give Hellblade 2 a crack on PC as I'm sure it won't take long for someone to mod the aspect ratio.
The first one was great but Rise was my favourite. The 20 year update was huge as well, so much added content. I spent a lot of time in the survival mode. I liked Shadow, it's a good game, but felt it was the weakest of the trilogy.
I've got Dead Island 2 and NHL 24 ready to go on the box but since the gaming PC is up and running I've mainly been on that. Absolutely love the XCOM reboots and now I can play with mods so all my time right now is on XCOM Enemy Within with the Long War mod. Also Helldivers 2 because democracy won't spread itself.
It will be a big deal for Xbox if the new Marvel hero shooter becomes a console exclusive. Not interested myself but it's an IP that sells and is currently only slated for a PC release
Finishing up Two Point Campus DLC, just got the 3 medical schools left to do. I don't plan on starting anything else as I've got a gaming PC being delivered this week and I can't wait to jump in to Helldivers with the boys.
Does anybody have any PC specific game pass games they can recommend? Time to finally get full use out of my Ultimate subscription.
That's a strong line up but for once there is nothing I'm excited about. I've got Dark Forces, Two Point Campus and Hawked on the go at the moment though so no drama.
Started Tales of Arise, the story seems intriguing but I much prefer turn based battling, hopefully I'll get used to it.
Also playing Hawked, a F2P third person extraction shooter. It's quite a fun little game that's filling an itch since there was no new content for MWZ in season 2.
Recently got all the DLC for Two Point Campus in a sale so hoping to start ripping off some virtual students this weekend too.
Somehow trying to cram all that in to 2-3 hours gaming time I get in the evening.
I've no interest in this but the Zero Punctuation review, sorry Fully Ramblomatic review is probably the most damning review Yahtzee has ever done. Thoroughly worth a watch.
This is great news. I've said it before that SoT is (before you all start) in my opinion the best Xbox exclusive game.
It does have to be played with friends or family to get the most out of it but I have never had so much laughter on a game before.
I will try my hardest to get my PS only friends to dip into this.
I hope Sea of Thieves is cross play enabled. I can't wait to have some fun with my Playstation friends on that game. Up until now I regarded it as one of the best Xbox exclusives. Great news that it is going multiplat
Honestly so excited that more people can enjoy Xbox games.
@EvenStephen7 I love your post. I'm a big advocate for GP but I really, really get my monies worth out of it. But like you say, it isn't for everyone. One of my friends used to subscribe but as a casual gamer played maybe 1 or 2 games a year from the service so it was costing them a fortune for nothing.
I like that Microsoft have said "we don't want everybody as a subscriber" It still leaves the choice up to the consumer and giving consumers choice is never a bad thing.
It's all getting a little bit silly isn't it? I love Xbox, been here since the start. I can play my games on my Xbox and if Xbox want to ship games on other platforms, cool. It means I have more games to play with more friends.
This is the first generation I haven't had a PS as I don't have time for more than one console anymore. Game Pass provides me with more than enough to play. While ever Game Pass is successful we'll still have Xbox hardware, after all the majority of their subscriptions are on Xboxs, I don't see what all the fuss is about.
I'm excited for this "business update" to see what's happening. Hoping for news on a new controller and mid gen console update.
I feel Xbox has already done a good job nurturing Indies but I also think since Game Pass has become so popular, those "Game Pass fillers" not on the service seem to get left behind.
Nice move and something I'll be keeping an eye on.
Continuing Sea of Stars, just got the ship. Don't know how far through I am but I'm in no rush to finish it. I particularly find the the mini game wheels very addictive.
I'll also be starting out in MW3 ranked play and jumping back in to Two Point Campus since I picked up all the DLC in the last sale.
I've just picked up Sea of Stars again and oh boy am I enjoying it. I managed to get a couple of hours in before Starfield released and since then I've been sidetracked with other games.
One of my mates keeps nagging at me to play Blasphemous as well but it's deep down my backlog.
@themightyant not that it's a bad score but I would have rated Tactics a lot higher than that.
I absolutely love the original trilogy, judgement was trash, 4 was meh but 5 seemed to be heading in the right direction again and I really did enjoy it. I hope they lose the open world ***** though, that seemed like needless filler. I prefer Gears in more claustrophobic spaces as I think it adds to the atmosphere and tension.
@BacklogBrad yeah, that's what I was talking about. I know there would be no financial gains for Xbox by making games they can't sell backwards compatible but it would be cool if they did. After all Big P is always talking about how game preservation is at the forefront of everything they do.
@BacklogBrad obviously licensing is a big issue with all sorts of things in video games but those licenses would only need to be renewed if they planned on selling the game.
To make the game backwards compatible (for those who already own it) I'm pretty sure they would just need the IP holders permission. It would be a nice gesture from Xbox to start doing some of this without any financial returns from it.
Pretty sure I make up 90% of that ship building figure 😂 I honestly can't wait for mods to expand on it or for them to implement a blueprint saving and sharing feature.
200 hours, maxed all powers, all achievements, not touched it since. Will definitely return for DLC and mods but it doesn't have the same Roleplaying vibe as Skyrim. I don't feel the need to start a new character.
@Rangers420 The OG MW2 has been fixed. Servers are great and plenty players online.
I for one am loving this CoD. They've hit a really nice balance, movement speed is great and the the TTK is just right. The zombies mode is great fun aswell, the threat zones mean it can be as chill or as hectic as you want it to be. Finished all the zombies missions yesterday and looking forward to more content with season 1.
@LunarFlame17 completely agree. There was a poll on here a while ago for the best Bethesda game and I said it there. While Oblivion and Skyrim are both incredible games they will never top the wow factor of Morrowind. All that choice and freedom in a completely 3D open world, it was, as you say, a revelation.
Although I had an Xbox at the time but I had Morrowind on PC and the construction set was so easy to use even for a kid like me.
Honestly, I'm quite enjoying it. More of the same really. The open combat zones are a good change of pace, especially on veteran when I can whittle down groups before engaging. I suppose it's how you play that makes a difference.
Not finished yet though so as reviews say I maybe disappointed with where the narrative goes.
@BacklogBrad that will do it then. There appears to be very little wrong with the PC version from what I've seen on Reddit.
The game is so good but the Xbox version is a mess and gets worse the more you play. Enjoy it my friend, I'm about 20 hours in but am now waiting for it to be fixed.
@BacklogBrad how are you getting on with lamplighters league? I absolutely love the gameplay but the crashes are on another level.
I found it gets worse the more you play. Started out just crashing at mission ends, so a quick save before entering the endzone and I wasn't too bothered. Now it crashes on exiting a mission, starting a mission, saving the game and during missions, it's beyond a joke. I've also got a bug now where it won't save my game, all saved games load back to the same save. If you haven't experienced the crashes yet I suggest shelving the game until it's fixed or you'll just waste hours on it. Again, love the gameplay but I don't think the Xbox version was tested at all.
@Deljo All achievements will now fall under one banner. On PC Call of Duty MW2 has become Call of Duty HQ and on Xbox MW2 has now simple been named Call of Duty. They are having a single launcher for everything
The game is still worth 1000 gamerscore with a full suite of achievements
