@Millionski What age groups is the gen z and alpha. I know a very wide range of ages. Young nephews age 5 to 10 have Switch and PS5 at home. I know a few 20 to 29 that have consoles Xbox, switch and PS5 my son and daughter and older nephews are a good few. This is in UK, which is a good console gaming country.
@Millionski I wish I had your optimism. But I think maybe another home console. Remember a real home console with full power on board not some hybrid you need cloud power etc. I still think they might try that on. I do agree and only due to Xbox console subscriptions they are forced into another console generation.
@Neither_scene Totally agree it’s a shame the next Xbox or PlayStation definitely won’t be Nvidia and I wish they were with DLSS on board. I think Switch 2 is Nvidia however.
@Fiendish-Beaver Also why I don’t trust Microsoft with Xbox in the UK right major retailers are running out or very low of series x and s consoles. Currys UK no stock x or s in store or online. Smyths toys zero series x stock in store and online. Running very low of series s stock Argos low on delivery of series x stock I mean what arse of a company lets this happen and we think they want to sell consoles or even a next generation console. It’s looks like they can’t manage a bit of stock let alone anything else. Remember this a trillion dollar company that have let this happen, and definitely intentionally.
@fatpunkslim I only focus on consoles sales as console development and manufacturing start up costs will be high and at some point in the whole Xbox universe and process there possibly could be negative return on that console investment taking everything into consideration. Then questions would be asked at board meetings, is this Xbox console really worth the negative return on investment taking everything into consideration.
I for one want Xbox prime but still won’t believe it until I see it.
@Fiendish-Beaver I definitely up for a bit of Prime, possibly. Let’s see it happen first and finally see their true intensions with multi platform games on PS5/6 and Switch 2. As for 2026 I still not sure, but hey time will tell.
The issue I see if they go full multi platform on PS5/6 or Switch 2 especially day one, it will definitely cut Xbox console sales which will lead to reduced GP subs and at some point there has to be a point where investment in new Xbox development and start up manufacturing costs becomes a negative to the whole process.
I’m amazed so many voting for 2026. Let’s see what happens, but it needs to better than PS5 Pro performance and at what cost I might add.
Then again I’m still on the fence even with rumours and stuff, if they will release a next gen Xbox home console, especially after seeing Nov 2024 sales.
They probably will but only because they have over 50% GP subs on Xbox console and are sort of forced into another console and if they didn’t those GP subs will probably go.
The trouble with Microsoft and Xbox is they need to understand in the current status those that want an Xbox console about 30 million have one and there are not many sales left to gain and those that want GP have it as well, never mind terrible cloud gaming and adding it to all devices. There are billions of devices that you can have GP on and taking Xbox consoles away about 15 million subs if lucky on billions of other devices. Terrible attachment rate. This is not for now cloud gaming and stop pushing cloud crap gaming down our throats.
What they need to get is more console sales and GP subs is amazing exclusive games and some out of this world advertising and PR.
Else console sales will sink lower and so will GP subs. Mark my word and watch it happen.
@donv2135 Because of the way they treating consoles as nothing and the probability that they are so focused on the cloud and ten years from now, the future. Xbox hardware could easily disappear soon. I mean just look at November 2024 console sales it was embarrassing. The only reason they will probably make a next generation Xbox console is because of Xbox game pass subs high percentage on Xbox consoles.
@Millionski I think the main or only reason they need to keep in the console space is because of the 50% Xbox console GP subscriptions, about roughly 15 million of them.
I bet a million a dollars if Xbox console GP subs where say max 5 million they would not produce a next generation Xbox console.
The GP Xbox console attachment percentage is forcing Microsoft’s hand to produce another Xbox console. And it’s definitely not for the love of Xbox consoles or Xbox console gamers.
And when that next generation Xbox console sells less than the series consoles and the Xbox console GP subscriptions reduce then there will be no more Xbox consoles.
Cloud based software has done nothing but slow me down at work as well When we run on PC and in house several based software everything was quick and instant, one second stuff at the most. Now I can sit there for 5 to 10 seconds per transaction and printing on cloud is slow as well. This is not advancement, this is slow you down with less efficiency at work.
@PsBoxSwitchOwner No it’s not better for Xbox as there are not many games on PS5 or Switch 2 yet from Xbox.
Also there must come a break point where it is not worth the design and manufacturing development of a new next generation Xbox console cost wise.
Because already now the next Xbox console will struggle to get to about 20 million, which will also decline GPU console subscriptions as well. And at that point Xbox console and GPU with day one releases dies as well.
Best and great console the series x But from a console stand point the owners let it down and left it die.
And the below says it all that it’s really embarrassing sales wise.
Europe November 2024: PS5 2.1 million Switch 537 thousand Xbox 190 thousand Worldwide November 2024: PS5 4.1 million Switch 1.7 million Xbox 737 thousand
First time in probably a decade an Xbox console has sold under 1 million in the Black Friday month of November.
@Sol4ris Hopefully we will get an Xbox showcase this month to set the first half of the year up. But they are looking strong now. As for Switch 2 time will tell. I think we will either get an amazing release day line up of games or an ok ish one, leaving us wondering what Nintendo in house studios have been doing all this time.
@somnambulance Xbox line up is currently the most exciting this year. But like you said all depends on that switch 2 release line up or the 2025 year games.
Come Microsoft get a grip and love your Xbox console:
Europe November 2024: PS5 2.1 million Switch 537 thousand Xbox 190 thousand
Worldwide November 2024: PS5 4.1 million Switch 1.7 million Xbox 737 thousand It doesn’t help with zero Xbox console promotion. They could have done so much with Xbox console COD and Indy promotions.
First time in probably a decade an Xbox console has sold under 1 million in the Black Friday month of November.
Series x console all the way, big screen 65” TV Dolby Atmos sound. The only way to play Xbox games like Indy and COD etc. I tried cloud steaming through series x UK 200mb/sec what an awful picture, the tech is a joke when on a big screen. Even PS5 streaming spider man 2 was a lot better. And Xbox are promoting this crap in the UK. They really need to get back to focusing on promoting Xbox consoles look at the results at 75%. Over 50% GP subs as well. What is wrong with Microsoft. They are to busy thinking about tens years ahead rather than staying Xbox console relevant for now and the next ten years.
They have the studios to take it to Sony and Nintendo to a point and are throwing it all away.
@Sol4ris It’s not really meant from the consoles point of view being honest. More an overall brand point of view. I mean did you see November 2024 console sales figures for Europe and worldwide it was embarrassing for Xbox consoles. I get what Microsoft want to do, but it doesn’t mean the Xbox console can’t do good as well if they actually promoted it etc. I mean Xbox consoles have over 50% of GP subs, if they lose the console that 50% of GP subs is as good as gone. Xbox did great console wise in December probably due to Indy game and now Microsoft have let stock run out in a lot of major UK stores. They just don’t care about our beloved Xbox consoles anymore.
Congratulations to Luke Littler the youngest ever PDC world darts champion which he won last night. Fellow gamer and sponsored by Xbox for the tournament, with the Xbox emblem on his shirt worn during the whole tournament.
@jedinite Yes I think Xbox did really well over Christmas in the UK, but its bad stock has now got this low and terrible for a business of Microsoft’s size and money to let it happen.
As for more so than the PS5 for the month of December 2024 I doubt it, but the sales numbers will be in soon so we shall see.
The problem is the rest of Europe over shadows any good Xbox sales in the UK. Just look as Novembers sales numbers and it is very very poor compared to PS5 and Switch. Then the same world wide. Europe November 2024: PS5 2.1 million Switch 537 thousand Xbox 190 thousand
Worldwide November 2024: PS5 4.1 million Switch 1.7 million Xbox 737 thousand
It doesn’t help with zero Xbox console promotion really and games going to other devices and consoles.
@Ricky-Spanish Definitely not great for series x if it doesn’t get 60fps and PS5 Pro does. Who would have thought this at the start of 2024 one year ago.
The above just goes to show that yes of course Microsofts gaming plans to expand to most if not all other devices is great, but to treat your own console in this way with stock shortages, shows how much they really don’t care about Xbox consoles. And the blindness to not see with over 50% of GP subs on consoles is shear devil meant in disguise.
@FraserG What is happening to Xbox series x disc and discless and series s stock in the UK. It’s slowly running dry in stores. Smyths toys no series x disc or discless and now series s 1tb or online for delivery.
Argos now starting to run low with no online delivery in certain areas.
Also other European counties are sharing the same experience.
Looking on the internet our USA cousins in certain states are starting to experience the same thing.
No company of Microsoft’s size would let this happen naturally. Sony and Nintendo have restocked already and kept stocks up over Christmas and new year.
Maybe it’s nothing, but things like this happen intentionally not by accident. We are not in the chip shortage era now.
Yep let’s see the reviews first and the performance. Because I won’t touch this of it sticks to the rumoured 30fps. If we don’t get a 60fps performance mode then it’s no GTA6 for me at launch. I have 12tflops of series x and it’s not for 30fps that’s for sure.
I can’t get excited for this man’s games after the postal delivery game. The old metal gears, yes, but not his recent stuff. Give me, Avowed, Fable, Doom and south of midnight any day of the week.
@Sol4ris Not having ago about anything anymore all the companies are not worth it, they all seem to be doing things that I totally disagree with at times and seem to either have their heads in the sand or up their own ar*ses 🤣 Joking aside it was nice to see a good few Xbox sales in the UK, though UK does well and USA. Was just a bit concerning that they have let stock get that bad in good Xbox country.
@Sol4ris What the hells going on about 90% of Smyths Toys stores have no series x disc editions in stock across the UK and none for online ordering. Maybe great for sales for over Christmas but terrible for continued sales. Are Microsoft having one of those moments or a think tank 🤣
Tired the game on PS5 it’s a good game if you like it mainly linear and souls like. Basically lots of small enemies easy to do, then dam stupid hard boss battles. I don’t think it has sold that great on PS5 More in China I think on PC is the big sales.
Even the series x has a split RAM pool at two different speeds , as the PS5 RAM Is all one pool at the same speed. I think next gen Xbox will make it simple and easier to optimise on to help developers. However the series x gives one more extra GB to developers more than the PS5 overall. One RAM pool seems such a simple answer to me. This also shows with Xbox moving Halo to Unreal 5, developer talent and a common game engine.
@HonestHick Yep in total agreement there, I think they would have been ok now the big AAA games are here and coming and the series consoles would have definitely got a boost in the USA and UK, but like you said that probably isn’t enough when you have PS5 on 60m and a switch on 145m.
@HonestHick Yep they certainly did and really enjoying the game and trying for 100%. Hope they get on a very good roll now and Avowed, Doom, Fable and COD all follow the same way next year. Really wish they had not gone for games on PS or Switch 2. Yep Minecraft and COD of course, but I really think now they are starting to roll they could have had a good ole fight with Sony.
Haptics and trigger pressure are good on PS5 when used well and also tied in with the controller speaker, for example Astro Bot.
I really enjoy it all when done properly. And I like the speaker as well it’s adds to the games sometimes.
I think all the new possible Xbox controller does is adds haptic feed back. Shame as a speaker would have been good in the controller, one of the better PS5 controller features.
As for 2025 I will say the id tech engine game again and the DOOM developers really know what they are doing. It has quality top AAA written all over DOOM.
So that’s 64% on full digital purchase I think. It’s all going that way slowly. Seems high and of course only includes purchased games outside of GPU. Does that include purchased on GPU as you have purchased a subscription?
100% digital all GPU on series x Switch Luigi mansion 2 HD Digital PS5 Astro Bot and new Dragon age Digital Quiet year for me on Switch and PS5 Currently mainly playing Indy GPU.

Day one Xbox studio games leave GPU
then so do I.

Re: Pure Xbox's Game Of The Year 2024: The Results You Didn't See
As for 2025 I will say the id tech engine game again and the DOOM developers really know what they are doing.
It has quality top AAA written all over DOOM.
Re: Pure Xbox's Game Of The Year 2024: The Results You Didn't See
Clear win for Indy and very well deserved
Keep em coming Xbox at this AAA quality level and above and 2025 should be a great GPU year.
Re: Poll: How Many Xbox Games Have You Actually Bought In 2024?
So that’s 64% on full digital purchase I think.
It’s all going that way slowly.
Seems high and of course only includes purchased games outside of GPU.
Does that include purchased on GPU as you have purchased a subscription?
Re: Poll: How Many Xbox Games Have You Actually Bought In 2024?
100% digital all GPU on series x
Switch Luigi mansion 2 HD Digital
PS5 Astro Bot and new Dragon age Digital
Quiet year for me on Switch and PS5
Currently mainly playing Indy GPU.
Re: Pure Xbox's Game Of The Year 2024
It’s nice to see pure Xbox, get done on the number spot. Merry Christmas 🎄 🤣🤣
Re: Pure Xbox's Game Of The Year 2024
The top two both big AAA blockbuster games.
Goes to show we love them as well at Xbox.
It’s the big AAA that count.
Re: Pure Xbox's Game Of The Year 2024
Well done Indy and well deserved my number one vote and still playing the game.
