Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has undoubtedly enjoyed a great month since its release back in early December, and according to a new rumour, it sounds like Disney is already interested in a potential sequel from MachineGames.
This comes courtesy of Windows Central editor Jez Corden on the Xbox Two Podcast:
"A Disney insider suggested that there was going to be more Indiana Jones, and I will say on my end, I've also heard that Disney picked up the phone and wants more Indiana Jones."
Last week, we reported that the US gaming charts were looking very healthy from an Xbox perspective following Indiana Jones' launch week, as despite the game releasing as part of Xbox Game Pass, it still managed to become the second top-selling video game in dollar sales for the week ending December 14th, only losing out to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
Obviously a lot more figures need to be revealed before we can determine whether Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has been a financial success, but this early rumour suggests a sequel is a strong possibility. Bring it on!

I definitely look forward to a sequel. There were some odd dialogue-repetition bugs that popped up, including characters who were nowhere near to me having audible speech, but other than that I had a blast. Was very pleasantly surprised.
Will definitely be buying the PS5 physical copy now that I’ve rented it on GP.
And with one game Machine games has now been able to make Indiana Jones more relevant than Hollywood could with the last 2 movies. Absolutely hilarious.
@Bigmanfan It’s amazing, honestly. This game was more interesting and entertaining than those two films combined.
Game is awesome, glad MachineGames nailed it and deserves all the praise...but please don't forget about making a Wolfenstein 3!
This game is great. It's a good pace too, but I'm spending my time getting everything as I go. 18.5hrs in and I've gotten all but one collectible in the Vatican (need more money for the final book at the boxing ring) and I'm early in to the Gizeh area.
As long as there’s a physical copy where most if not all content is on disc , count me in. I don’t care if I have to go over to PlayStation to get it, this game is worth the effort and I have every reason the great guys at Machine Games can do it again.
I don't see why Disney would do this. Clearly they would've read Pure Xbox's review of the game and know it's trash and have already moved onto Moana 5, the Live Action Video Game Film, exclusive to Amazon Luna.
@Balaam_ Does the series X disc version not have the full game? Serious question, as there’s no XBone copy so smart delivery is thankfully not involved. Or was there a ginormous day one patch?
I've got a decent amount of MS rewards points, but I'm waiting to see how Avowed turns out before I spend them. May get this if Avowed turns out to be a dud.
Disney wants to squeeze an IP for more cash!? I'm shocked!
I'm biased as the game style is right up by street and it immediately jumped into my Top 3 of 2024, but i'd love a sequel, the game was brilliant.
@dskatter the game is 136gb no way this fits one one 4k blu ray disc
@trev666 Ah. I keep forgetting MS went with lower capacity discs in their infinite wisdom. They could have gone with two or three discs, FYI. CDPR did it with Cyberpunk’s complete series X release.
Guess my decision to wait to purchase the PS5 physical version has paid off!
Just finished the main story yesterday. It is a very enjoyable game. I really felt like I was on an adventure. Fun fun fun!
@Xbox_Dashboard at least disney seems to be finding good AAA studios to license their IP to big budget projects. It could be like that king Kong game or all the lord of the rings trash.
@BacklogBrad right, this could have been much worse
@dskatter physical verisons if you can find one, are doing pretty well as so, just keep looking.
I want more Indiana Jones as well!
@FatGuyInLilCoat That Disney dollar could change their plans!
@dskatter i doubt ps5 release will be a multi disc release it will be one disc and a download
And Indy took graphics of the year over at DF.
@trev666 Doubtful. The only games to do that in recent memory are Star Wars Survivor and some of the Call of Duty games.
PS games in general are complete on-disc, other than day one patches. Since this is a port that gets to cook a few more months, there is zero reason for this to not be a complete release.
@donv2135 …what?
Still haven't started it yet. .waiting to finish Dragon Age the veilguard...will do as soon as that's done with
I would definitely like to see more. Especially if it's done the same way as Great Circle.
@Ricky-Spanish yeah that's what I'm worried about. And MS has been known in the past to have studios just work on one game series (halo, gears, rare was assigned to kinect lol)
@FatGuyInLilCoat Hopefully that's not the case here👍
The Game was fun. Gameplay was fine, nothing spectacular. Did enjoy beating the crap outta Nazis, felt good.. The storyline was pretty great! Enjoyed every bit, every cutscene! Tony Todd was the cherry on top, what a send out for him.. The Casablanca ending was a nice touch..
As for a sequel, sure! After all, Annika is still alive..
Wait..... How can Xbox patent this? If Nintendo patented their JoyCons, and Sony patented the DualSense, how can Xbox then patent the tech in their controller? I seem to recall an incident during the PS3 era that affected the Dualshock 3 to where it became the SIXAXIS for some time because of a rumble feature. Once Sony worked out paying the royalties, then it became the Dualshock 3 so...... How does Xbox put haptics in their controller without infringement on the haptics patent???
@OldGamer999 hey you said you wanted to see a game be as polished as a Sony or Nintendo title on Xbox since they have 2 SKU’s and all the PC’s to cover. I think this is your first look at it. More to come 😊
@HonestHick
Yep they certainly did and really enjoying the game and trying for 100%.
Hope they get on a very good roll now and Avowed, Doom, Fable and COD all follow the same way next year.
Really wish they had not gone for games on PS or Switch 2. Yep Minecraft and COD of course, but I really think now they are starting to roll they could have had a good ole fight with Sony.
David Jeffe (game director of God of War and Twisted Metal) said it was easily his GoTY and may overtake Elden Ring as his favorite game of all time. Impressive words coming from him (and even a 6/10 Pure Xbox review can’t take that away 😀).

Finally got starting it and it's good! Though got too many games going at the same time so will finish off a couple of games and then focus on it. Wouldn't say no to another game from what I've played so far.
Well this is good, Xbox has really been hurting for a win. Ending the year on a happy note!
Yeah, but I hope they finish it this time. Act 3 was a mess. First two were almost perfect.
Oh it was Jez Corden who confirmed this? I don't believe it for a second then.
@Bigmanfan
It's because Machine Head Games is a pretty great studio and also they made a whole Indiana Jones story without bringing in Aliens or Time Travel and left 80 yr old Harrison Ford alone
@awp69 And before Indy he claimed Starfield was the best game last year also he also claimed Astrobot was too hard for him lol.
Anyone with half a brain knows he's just a bitter twisted old man with a hate boner for Sony at this point, with his multiple angry rants. Ofc he's always going to pick an Xbox game every year because he's lost his mind.
Jez talking out his ass again lol. It's obvious it sold poorly and I don't believe for a second Disney got on the phone and asked for a sequel. If he had of said Xbox asked then sure but it's obvious he's lying here.
@OldGamer999 i agree that i wish they were choosing to fight for the console and PC more. But they would lose a lot of money on Doom and Indy and other titles not being on PS before it would start to bring people over to the Xbox platform if those players ever came. But they choose the money and play anywhere and from a money standpoint i can’t blame them but as a console fan, especially a Xbox console fan i would have liked to seen it play out differently.
@MrMagic so Jez is a liar when he say’s Indy sold well. But Jez is right when he say’s a game or all games are coming to PS5. Is that right? Cause there are 100’s of PS5 fans on Push thinking Jez’s story on Forza and other titles coming to PS5 soon is really happening. Like him or not Jez rumors are fairly on point. Most rumors are fairly on point these day’s from the ones i follow anyhow.
@HonestHick
Yep in total agreement there, I think they would have been ok now the big AAA games are here and coming and the series consoles would have definitely got a boost in the USA and UK, but like you said that probably isn’t enough when you have PS5 on 60m and a switch on 145m.
@HonestHick Jez was in denial for a while when every other insider was saying Xbox games are getting ported to playstation. He was running his usual defence on Twitter telling people it was nothing more than fanboy hopium. People still rip him a new one for it now.
He simply can no longer deny it like he did before but he still lies and runs defense every chance he gets, just like now with Indy.
I'm sure Circana's monthly and FY2024 best selling games report won't actually reflect what Jez is saying but I guess we'll wait and see.
@OldGamer999 they may have rode some of that into the next gen and got off to a great start. Especially if they would launch the next Xbox with Gears E-Day. Thats a lot of momentum on their side. Sure they would lose a good amount in software sales rebuilding that customer base. But in time gamers will follow the games. They always have. PS2 sold a ton and 360 did just fine. But MS after spending billions isn’t looking to lose money on software for another 3-4 years to build its hardware back up. Sad really cause i agree with you and others that that is the competition the console space needs. At the moment it looks like Sony can just sit back and collect 30% off MS without spending a dime outside of pushing PS5 and PS6 hardware.
@MrMagic he said games like Starfield wasn’t coming and to my knowledge it hasn’t. I think he was trying to slow down the whole lot is coming to PS cause i think he knew even MS wasn’t sure what was or wasn’t and when. For all this every Xbox game is on PS. I still only see the 4. Now i do think they will make their way over. Likely even Halo, Gears and Forza but when is the question? Jez’s latest leak was MS needs more dev’s to port the games to PS is the only reason we haven’t seen more. I believe him when he wrote that.
I want remakes of the 2 graphical adventures!
I'm not sure how far in I'm into the game so far, but sign me up for a sequel for sure!
