As parts of its efforts to impress at the CES 2025 tech convention, Nvidia has shown off its latest ray tracing improvements with DLSS 4 - and the short teaser up above gives us a fresh glimpse at Xbox's DOOM: The Dark Ages.
Admittedly, this is a very short clip of the upcoming id Software title, but to be quite honest, we want to see every bit of this game that we can possibly lay eyes on. This will of course be PC footage of the game, but given how scalable Bethesda's id Tech engine is, The Dark Ages is bound to look extremely good on Xbox as well.
"Delivering improved performance and enhanced visuals, RTX powers the future of gaming with AI. Check out ray tracing and DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation in today’s biggest games including Black State, DOOM: The Dark Ages, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and more."
Alongside the three games mentioned in the video description above, Nvidia has also included The Witcher 4 in its new trailer; the highly-anticipated new title from CD Projekt RED. The very same Witcher 4 cinematic was also used to introduce the title during The Game Awards last month.
Anyway, this sure is a brief clip of DOOM: The Dark Ages here, but we could be in line to see more of this title very soon. It's speculated that another Xbox Developer Direct show could happen in the coming weeks, and with the new DOOM game rumoured to be launching in just a few short months, we're hoping to get a much deeper dive on this title very soon.
Excited for a brand-new DOOM game, this time coming out of Xbox? Talk to us about the prospect down below.

Nvidia continuing to cement their position of market dominance with industry leading tech. The only way anyone’s going to catch them is if they let their foot off the accelerator; currently they’re showing no signs of doing that.
It’s a shame, to a degree, that both Sony and Microsoft are so heavily invested in AMD tech as they’ll always be behind the curve. I do understand, however, that AMD probably offers a far more competitive price when console hardware margins are already incredibly tight. You don’t really get bleeding edge tech on a mass market device.
I'm surprised nobody to date has brought up a huge glaring problem, same as Windows, if everyone is using the same everything just how hard will it be to cripple said systems ? It's the complete nightmare scenario SkyNet is here...
Since I am someone who is mostly concerned about 60fps using as high of settings as possible to meet or exceed that framerate, I am not too fussed that I didn't wait until these cards come out to pull the trigger on a PC.
The 4070 Super should last me a good long while.
The 5070 (4090 performance) for $550 kind of makes that ps5 pro price tag even more of a joke.
@Neither_scene
Totally agree it’s a shame the next Xbox or PlayStation definitely won’t be Nvidia and I wish they were with DLSS on board.
I think Switch 2 is Nvidia however.
@OldGamer999 yea the Switch 2 is suppose to feature DLSS so even tho it’s only suppose to offer PS4 level power with the upscaling it should be able to handle current gen games much more easily…the current Switch uses some type of Nvidia chip but does not feature DLSS
@BacklogBrad
Woah… Chill. 5070 will not perform as a 4090. The released benchmarks is with DLSS4/frame gen, most of which will also come to the 4-series. I personally don’t like that frame gen is used to make the new cards look so much better (frame gen overall introduces more latency for the perceived illusion of higher fps, OK for certain games though). It also often comes with weird image artifacts etcetera. But in raw performance the 5070 won’t be near the 4090, and it’s extremely weird that Nvidia chose to have 12GB of video memory on the 5070, that in itself is very crippling in anything above 1440p (even at 1440p in several new games, speaking of experience with my 4070Ti 12GB on a 3440x1440 ultrawide).
And while I agree that the PS5 Pro is overpriced, you do get more than just a GPU… You won’t get far with just a GPU 😅 You need a PSU, CPU, RAM, Motherboard, Harddrives, case. Etc etc..
@Briarback how often do you build a computer from the ground up? Once you are in the pc world it will likely be single component upgrades. You dont have to buy an all new system like the current console world requires. It is usually cheaper to upgrade an aging pc than it is to upgrade an aging console. For me, upgrading my current rig will be much cheaper than the ps5 pro and will be more powerful.
Plus you save the hundreds of dollar per year that it costs just to play games online.
