Re: Roundup: Here's What The Critics Think About Visions Of Mana From Square Enix

NotoriousWhiz

@Kraven I think that's a meaningless statistic. Developers who release their game on game pass have already received a huge chunk of money upfront from Microsoft. So whether or not it sells to game pass subscribers who funded that chunk of money is meaningless.

The bigger issue with game pass is for those games that aren't launched into the service. How many game pass subscribers are buying those games? I believe we already have reports that state: "not many" and that is the true problem with game pass. Any xbox game not launching in game pass is unlikely to turn a profit.

@GuyinPA75 In your situation, I also would never use handheld. But since someone is using the TV a lot, most of my gaming time is handheld. Additionally, there are a few indoor extracurricular activities that my sons do where parents are told to wait in their cars. So I wait in my car and play on my Steam deck/switch. I could doom scroll on my phone but I'd much rather game.

Re: Xbox Might Be Looking Into A Handheld Console As PlayStation Rumours Circulate

@Banjo- For me the big thing is simplicity. I don't want to have to search the web for drivers, don't want to attach a keyboard or mouse, or toggle launch options to get a game to run. From a user perspective, I should be able to find the game and launch it without worrying about anything else. If it can do all that and still support PC games, then that's fine, but that seems like a high bar. I'm perfectly fine with Xbox only.

Re: Poll: How Often Do You Buy DLC Packs & Expansions For Your Games?

@NarutosBiggestFan @Romans12 @FarmDog08 Hey fellow dad gamers. Also relative picky with my limited gaming time. Mostly, I just play indies since I can realistically finish them. Thankfully there are also a handful of games that my kids play that I can kinda enjoy with them. But most of the games they play bore me to sleep sometimes lol.

Re: The Xbox Series S 'xScreen' Is Now Officially Licensed By Microsoft

NotoriousWhiz

I have one. The screen is super convenient. I can play it on the couch like a laptop. Pretty hard to do that with a separate monitor. At $200, I'd say the price is fair for what you get. Yes, you can get a better quality screen but then you're dealing with the hassle of lots of wires, a stand to support the screen, or you may be forced to play at a desk or table, and possibly needing multiple outlets. With the Xscreen, all you need is one outlet to plug in the power cord and you're good to go.

Re: Pick One: Which Of These Recent Square Enix Games Would You Most Like On Xbox?

NotoriousWhiz

Switch is 1st priority for RPGs for me. So if it's an RPG, and it's on the Switch, I'm getting it for the Switch. (Convenience of playing anywhere makes it far more likely for me to actually finish the game). The ones that are too technologically advanced for Switch, those are the ones I'd want on Xbox. But since they aren't coming to Xbox, I have a PS5. (Literally, the only reasons I have a PS5 is Final Fantasy and PSVR 2)

Re: The 'Must-Own' Fight'N Rage Is Getting A Free Xbox Series X|S Upgrade Next Week

NotoriousWhiz

@PushButtons You complain about repetitive enemies but then mention castle crashers? Almost every enemy in fight n rage has its own techniques and fighting patterns. There's probably at least 10 variations of enemies and I can only recall 3 variations of castle crashers enemies: small with arrows, small with magic, big. Even the playable characters are all exactly the same minus trivial differences in spells. Fight N Rage is more like a fighting game that has been made into a beat em up. It has way more depth in its combat system than castle crashers does. Streets of rage 4 and tmnt shredders revenge are both also very solid choices.
