It's been announced that 2019's Fight'N Rage is getting a free Smart Delivery upgrade for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on March 1st, which will bring support for 120 frames per-second to the game.
If you haven't heard of it, Fight'N Rage is a side-scroller beat 'em up experience which is inspired by similar arcade titles from the 90s, featuring multiple game modes, alternate paths, cutscenes and endings, plenty of unlockables, and local co-op support for up to four players. The crazy part is that it was developed by just one person!
Pure Xbox was on hiatus back in 2019 when this game was released, but Pure Xbox reviewer PJ O'Reilly gave the game an "Excellent" 9/10 over on our sister site Nintendo Life, calling it a "must-own action game" on the system:
"Whether you’re a learned fan of old-school beat’em ups or you just like pummelling the life out of mutant punk pussycats and monkeys dressed as Bruce Lee, you owe it to yourself to experience what Sebastian Garcia has created here; it’s easily one of the best beat’em ups we’ve played."
Look out for Fight'N Rage's free Xbox Series X|S upgrade on Wednesday next week!

Oh, come on! It was just on sale! Is it that good? Now I want it, haha.
This is one of the better beat-‘em-ups of the last few years. I’m looking forward to playing it again on the Series X.
Oh hell yeah, legit my favorite beat ‘em up of the last few years. 120 fps? Hell yeah!
When it came out I brought it, it plays really well and has so many hidden moves to discover. Fun scrolling beat em up and nice graphic style. Great game 🎮
Nice, time to reinstall it. Awesome soundtrack, awesome game
A very great beat em up game. Just wish it had online play.
Superb game! I already own it on PC but I may double dip if the price is right.
Must own? Im sorry. Own it, played it's and have not touched it since. It's okay but repetitive enemy types and levels lack creativity. CastleCrashers, TMNT-SR and SoR4 is all you'll ever need.
@PushButtons You complain about repetitive enemies but then mention castle crashers? Almost every enemy in fight n rage has its own techniques and fighting patterns. There's probably at least 10 variations of enemies and I can only recall 3 variations of castle crashers enemies: small with arrows, small with magic, big. Even the playable characters are all exactly the same minus trivial differences in spells. Fight N Rage is more like a fighting game that has been made into a beat em up. It has way more depth in its combat system than castle crashers does. Streets of rage 4 and tmnt shredders revenge are both also very solid choices.
I've been interested in this game but no online is a big negative for any Beat 'Em Up or FPS for me. Both genres always feel incomplete in today's age with only one or the other, as they're games usually best with a friend.
@NotoriousWhiz CastleCrashers is still one of the most popular side-scrolling and best selling beat'em ups since it's release in 2008. Thanks to its art design, great music, simple roguelite gameplay mechanics, unique bosses, enemy design and variety and level design and variety.
FnR does not feel like a fighting game turned beat'em up. It definitely has some move variety but nothing we have not seen before. All I remember is same looking enemies stage after same looking stage. No one is asking for a sequel, I'm not saying its a bad game but it's not a "must own" like the 3 crowns I mentioned. Id give it a "wait and play on gamepass" though.
