Update (Thu 18th Apr, 2024): The date has changed! It's now been confirmed that Braid, Anniversary Edition will be launching for Xbox on May 15th, 2024, which bizarrely falls one day after the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, PC and Netflix version. Here's a bit more information on the latest release date:
"Thekla, Inc. today confirmed that Braid, Anniversary Edition will now be officially launching on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, PC and Netflix, and Wednesday, May 15 for Xbox One and Xbox Series X; the title, which reimagines the iconic indie for modern hardware, had previously been slated for launch on April 29.
Additionally, developer Jonathan Blow newly announced that Braid, Anniversary Edition will feature a combination of 40 brand-new and/or alternate redesigns of original levels, further bolstering the variety of changes and updates coming to Anniversary Edition that still preserve the fundamental integrity of the original release."
Original story (Thu 9th Nov, 2023): The relaunch of Pure Xbox was only a few months old when we last reported on Braid, Anniversary Edition, and although back then it was supposed to be coming out in early 2021, it's now got a fixed release date of April 30, 2024.
We've definitely been waiting a long time for this one then, but hopefully it'll be worth the wait! Braid, Anniversary Edition is a re-imagined take on the 2008 indie classic complete with hand-repainted graphics, much-improved sound, the ability to switch between the old and new versions, over 15 hours of commentary and much more.
In the video above, you can see some of these changes in action, and we'll throw more details down below as well. Braid, Anniversary Edition will be available for Xbox One, Series X and Series S (along with various other platforms).
"Braid, Anniversary Edition reimagines what The A.V. Club called “the definitive indie game” for modern, high-resolution hardware via a variety of changes and updates that still preserve the fundamental integrity of the original release..."

Absolute classic. More levels and game design commentary makes it a must buy for me
Such an amazing game with great music
Great game, I'm just not smart enough to finish it. I should try again, could use some self-inflicted personal humiliation.
Wonder how many other classic XBLA games will get Remasters. A Deathspank Trilogy would be neat consider the first isn't BC and the third is both not BC & delisted. Battleblock Theater would be another great choice to add more content too.
Great game. This was such a great era for these indie games. The Dishwasher was one of my faves of that whole generation but sadly seems to have been forgotten. I'll be getting this though. Can't recall if I ever actually finished it which probably means I didn't....
This is my all time favorite puzzle platformer. It's so good, that when I bought it, I beat it in one sitting while my girlfriend watched and cheered!
I'm buying this without hesitation, even though I have the 360 version currently installed on my XBOX Series X. This is a game worth owning twice.
@shoeses Yes! I love Deathspank! I admit I did not know there was a third game, though...
@Auglicious It's called The Baconing, but is very much the third DeathSpank game. Still available on Steam though.
