Welcome to the weekend! If you're wondering what to do over the next couple of days, don't forget we've got the massive Xbox Games Showcase 2023 and Starfield Direct events on Sunday, and there are also new Xbox Game Pass titles, a new Free Play Days title, the Lies of P demo, and a massive Xbox Deals Unlocked Sale to take advantage of.
Here's what we're playing this weekend:
Fraser Gilbert, Editor
Unsurprisingly, I'm not going to be playing many games this weekend. My focus is firmly on the Xbox Games Showcase 2023 taking place this Sunday, although I may still find the time to squeeze in a bit of Street Fighter 6 over the next couple of days - I somehow seem to be doing pretty well online so far!
I'm also still debating what to buy in the Xbox Deals Unlocked Sale. NBA 2K23 is 90% off this week, and I haven't bought an NBA game in a couple of years, so that might be worth a shout. It's the 160GB file size that puts me off...
Enjoy the weekend, folks.

Like Fraser, I'll probably be spending most of my spare time trying to touch grass this weekend - it's going to be a very busy few days as we tackle the big showcases! I'm getting super excited for the Xbox event on Sunday though, for sure.
If I do manage to cram a little bit of gaming time in this weekend it'll probably be on Battlefield 2042. As an avid Battlefield 4 player I'm still not wholly convinced by DICE's latest effort, but its new re-imagined map is giving me a reason to boot the game up again. Let's see how that goes in the coming days and weeks.
Have a great Xbox Showcase-filled weekend!

Ahoy folks, this weekend I’ll be busy getting myself ready for the Xbox Games Showcase on Sunday but I’m hoping to find some time to continue playing Railbound. If you haven’t heard of it before, it’s this charming train puzzler. Honestly, it’s such a lovely game, I highly recommend it - good for achievements too!
If I’m lucky, I’ll keep grinding on Diablo IV too. I’m 3 levels away from a level 50 Druid, so I’m eager to hear that achievement pop! I’m also really tempted to start a hardcore character too… has anyone had any luck with a hardcore character of their own?
Happy gaming!

This weekend, besides readying myself for some exciting stuff at the Xbox Games Showcase, I'll be playing as much Diablo IV and Street Fighter 6 as I can possibly squeeze in. I'm absolutely in the throes of a serious addiction to both at the moment, not a bad problem to have, but it is difficult to decide which one to settle into of an evening without feeling as though the other is being neglected.
Elsewhere, I've also started a run of Amnesia: The Bunker. I'm not very far in just yet, but I am loving the overall vibe so far. The violent trenches and spooky bunkers of World War One make a fantastic setting for a horror game as it turns out. Have a great weekend!
What Xbox games are you playing this weekend? Let us know down in the comments below.

SWITCH
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - despite finishing the game earlier this week I still can't put it down! It's just really fun to travel the land searching for stray Koroks to return to their friends.
N64 Online - if I can pull myself away from TotK, I'll play some N64 games on the NSO app.
3DS
Nothing on here this weekend.
PS5
GTA Online - the usual multiplayer mayhem with friends later tonight.
Elden Ring - finally starting this one after it's been sitting on my shelf for a few months!
PC
Nothing on here this weekend.
I'm trying out the surprisingly good Lies of P demo. I'll also be performing various occult rituals tonight, to ensure that Microsoft announce a Fallout: New Vegas remaster tomorrow. Come on, Phil!
Series X - Rocket League and gonna buy a game off the store since I've got enough reward points to use for a £5 gift card
PS5 - Hogwarts Legacy is the only game I'm playing on PlayStation at the moment
After having beaten Pokémon Scarlet(finally!), I moved on to new projects so this weekend I'm playing Forspoken(finally got a PS5) and am slowly making my way through the demo for Lies of P.
I also started Breath of the Wild on Switch.
Nothing is happening on my Xbox except Youtube.
Like for so many here, it's all about SF6 and D4 for me. Playing SF6 on Xbox as connecting my fight stick is so much more straight forward than it is on PS5. Though in a twist, I'm spending most of my time playing on pad this time. Surprisingly I'm getting used to it quite quickly, though double QCF specials are still a struggle.
This weekend I’m playing Diablo IV (Xbox Series X). I finally beat The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom after 120+ hours, and it has gone down as my favorite game of all time. I obviously haven’t done everything in the game - but I’ll come back to it after a well deserved break.
As for Diablo IV - this is such a great game. I’m surprised by how well it functions right out of the gate. It seems quite balanced in its current state, so I’m interested in seeing how future patches and updates tinker that.
I’m really liking the darker and grittier tone of this game more than I did in Diablo 3, all the while keeping 3’s combat in this game. It’s the best of both worlds. I’m currently playing as a Rogue, and I’m pleased by how fun this class can be. It has such an insane amount of options for the build of your preference. I enjoy being able to attack from a distance, or be up close and personal. If you choose the right skill abilities from the start, you will never be at a disadvantage regardless of your play style.
Overall, I’ve been eating good the past month. Diablo IV will no doubt keep my entertained for months to come. So, bring on Hell, baby.
Tryna finish bloodborne & gow before the showcase hits. Impossible though lol
Just in Hemwick now and only about 15 hours into gow.
Harmony: The Fall Of Reverie
It's a new indie from Don'tNod and so far I'm loving it! Can't wait to play more afterward!
On PS5 i will be playing Potion Permit which so far I'm quite enjoying more than I thought I would. I will also be playing Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen again as I never got round to doing the Arisen content when I first completed the game.
On Switch I'm giving Zelda a rest this weekend so instead I will be playing Bayonetta Origins which I hope to complete today, such an underrated game. I will also be playing Splatoon 3 as there's a new Big Run event starting today. And finally I may start Shin Megami Tensei 5 as all the Persona news lately has got me itching to play and SMT is the next best thing to it.
On Xbox I will continue with Hi-Fi Rush and look forward to their showcase.
Series: Waiting for s4 of Halo. Might jump into something new on Monday if the showcase brings any surprises!
Switch: TotK. Taking my sweet time with it.
PS5: Street Fighter 6. First time playing SF and it's such a good game!
I will give Rune Factory 4 and Stacking a try but got playing the Big Con and have been pleasantly surprised…
I'm still playing Tears Of The Kingdom, The game is a masterpiece..
Hoping I can wrap up at least 2 of these games I've been picking at for awhile.
Xbox - Halo Infinite
Pc - the walking dead season 1/bioshock 1
Ps5 - ghost of tsushima
Switch - pokemon brilliant diamond
Diablo 4, what else is there?
Also taking the family to a ren faire today and of course my favorite day of the year, my hype superbowl, watching xbox e3 tomorrow.
Diablo 4...no time for real life...
Still going through System Shock. I think I'm probably about 3/4 of the way through it. I'm having fun with it, but its not very easy to get into. I've got a couple pages full of notes, and even then, I still felt compelled to look a couple (fairly minor) things up.
Tonight the guys and I will likely return to Back 4 Blood. We're on act 2 now and enjoying it enough to keep going this time.
Lies of P demo, this is gonna be a good one ! Started replaying Halo reach earlier in the week.
Picked up Evil Dead the game through the Gold sale, so I'll be sinking some time into that and probably Back 4 Blood
Still playing Star Wars. Tried that Lies Of P demo but can't get past that first boss. Waiting to see what's shown tomorrow to see if I need to renew my Game Pass or not, yet.
Pretty much only tears of the kingdom still. I'm getting there. With most of the exploration out of the way, I'm in the closing section of the game I feel. Maybe 6-8 hrs left. Or maybe more if there's more than I'm expecting. My poor xbox has been neglected since May 11th
Street Fighter 6. I have it on both Xbox Series X and PS5 but have found myself enjoying it a bit more on Xbox as right now I'm playing with the standard controllers and the XSX one has a superior D-pad making it easier to pull off special moves and and super arts.
Trying to wrap up man-eater before it leaves gamepass. Been enjoying it so far, halfway through i believe.
Street Fighter 6, I will definitely have time to get in some online matches this weekend. I’ll be messing around with the Battle Hub.
I finished Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. It was solid, but I think the franchise is begining to show its age. The rift mechanic was definitely not enough to set it apart from some of the franchises best entries. I also thought the story was a bit of a letdown as it sort of just ignored a lot of Ratchets character development from Into the Nexus.
Might peruse the ole PC Game Pass now and see if anything can catch my attention from otherwise just playing more Zelda.
A little bit of Diablo IV today but the rest of the weekend nothing.
I’ll be flying back from the US East Coast to the UK to spend a few weeks with my family.
More totk for sure. Nearing the final boss but trying to sweep up side quests. I also purchased a used copy on the og uncharted so I’ll likely boot that up. First time with the series. Finally me and a couple close friends stayed up all night playing Kirby Clash Deluxe for old times sake. Really a fun ftp game.
Well, between Zelda TOTK and Diablo IV I haven’t got time for much else. Saying that, I’m a little worried that I may already be getting fatigued with Diablo IV. I’m a level 26 Necromancer, and it’s just all getting a bit samey. I think I may start a new character/class over the weekend and see how it goes.
LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy (PSP) - Quickly ran through the first game on PS2, so I can start this today.
Imperia Online (Windows Phone) - Still chipping away with this during downtime.
@Nightcrawler71 Diablo can be. For me the fun comes once you get in the end game. Playing interesting builds and getting better loot. It’s a real treadmill.
Just finished the campaign mode of Severed Steel - which was awesome 😎 So currently deciding what to play next: I'm either going to go for Scarlet Nexus or ReCore, grab Dragon's Dogma from the sale or possibly start one of the 360 games I've been hoarding 😁
I'm playing Control courtesy of the free play days, and waiting for Sunday's showcase.
Happy gaming everyone 👍👍
Started The Last Case of Benedict Fox yesterday. Hope it will get better further on, seems a bit generic so far apart from the setting.
Spiderman Miles Morales on ps4. Nothing on xbox since I got 1000G on lego jurassic world yesterday and plan to wait a bit before going back to something older eg kingdoms of amalur or super meat boy on 360
Picked up Batman: Arkham Knight premium edition on PC at the beginning of the week for a frankly ridiculous £3 49, so I'll be finishing up the main story and maybe actually going for all the Riddler trophies this time around. But don't quote me on that.
Diablo Iv all the way!
Fired up GOW 1 last week because I remember being so jealous of a mate who got it when it first came out, like 15 years or so ago! Still plays so well today and most importantly it's fun.
Also debating whether to pick up a second hand Switch OLED for some TOTK/BOTW action. Played them both a bit last week but not sure I can justify the outlay for playing only those 2 games for a few hours.
BF 2042 new season 5 is awesome 😎👍
Been playing that a lot and SF6.
Find it funny there's comments on here on an Xbox site saying there's nothing to play on Xbox apart from YouTube haha. Seriously!
A lot of Sony fans here too which is surprising. Fair play to all 🙂💚
D4 for most of the free time, this week split between D4 and SF6 trials.
