Glad to get a solid release date on Redfall. Starfield is next!
@Kaloudz They still didn't answer what this game exactly is. Is it an open-world SP where other 3 players are AI (and you can also play it co-op) ?
Although I thought this new format was great, I unfortunately wasn't blown away by anything shown. Xbox will always be my console of choice for 3rd party games, but they just never seem to be able to catch up to Playstation on the 1st/2nd party front despite having vastly more resources than them. Still looking forward to Starfield, but everything shown today seemed like "filler" to keep us occupied until the system sellers release (Starfield, Gears 6, Coalition's new rumored IP, Avowed, Indiana Jones etc.)
Redfall looks good but overall i was underwhelmed.
@WallyWest I mean, Arcane games are always critic darlings and win GOTY stuff but for me they always looked strange and underwhelming going all the way back to Dishonoured. They are an acquired taste I guess.
i felt like with redfall and hifi rush they kind of showed maybe too much, doesn't feel like they would be many surprises upon actually playing the game.
a sense of discovery is one of my favourite things in games.
i think they showed all the redfall bosses and even the last boss.
Amazing show, Can't wait for Redfall..
A surprise or two would have been nice. Personally found that showcase underwhelming.
@LOGICWINS Series X & PS5 feel on equal ground as of now - there's something one is doing right that the other's not quite getting right or as good for both sides. Though TBF Sony's not quite putting out hit after hit either, it's more like half making hits, half paying devs to keep their hits off other consoles.
I hope that the single player is properly optimised in Redfall. There are so many games like world war z where the AI was so bad that it was almost unplayable without others.
I was "meh" toward Redfall at first, but today's showing makes me want to play it!
I'm very much a casual gamer. Been playing the Switch for the last few years. Had an Xbox one but have been out of the Xbox world for a while. Just found this site via its link to Nintendo Life after randomly watching the Xbox event on YouTube. Literally off to but a Series S this morning. New Forza looks incredible, I loved them dropping a game for release today, and that Redfall looks awesome too.
I'd love some recommendations for Game Pass games to start with, as I'm gonna subscribe to that today too!
Is that is?!?! Came here to check the list and I thought that the page hadn’t loaded properly as it was so short. Man I keep holding our hope for Xbox as it’s my favourite console but man I’m struggling…
@WrestleVessel Here's a few recommendations and I hope you enjoy the Series S
Racing: Forza Horizon 4 - 5, Wreckfest, Joyride Turbo
Shooters: Halo Master Chief Collection, Gears of War 1 - 5, Doom 2016 & Eternal, Quake
Platformers: Psychonauts 2, Banjo Kazooie, Hollow Knight,
Dead Cells, New Super Lucky's Tales
RPG: Elder Scrolls Skyrim, Fallout 3 - 4 , Mass Effect Legendary Edition, The Outer Worlds
@WrestleVessel There's so much on Gamepass that I'd recommend you just install what looks good. Can't really go wrong. But definitely Forza Horizon 5 since it sounds like you're looking forward to Motorsport as much as I am. In the meantime, check out Assetto Corsa as it's pretty cheap and you can get it for peanuts when it goes on sale. It'll scratch that proper motorsport itch, as the Horizon series is an arcade racer.
Hi-Fi Rush stole the show for me. Already loving it.
Something looks cheap about Redfall. I can't put my finger on it, but it looks more like Far Cry or Back 4 Blood than a Triple A title. I hope I'm wrong.
@RobNZ64 Agree 100 %.
@Son_of_Hades The Redfall release date leaked weeks ago online. Already knew it was May 2nd.
Love the new format, and thought it was an excellent show, the shadowdropping of Jet Set Ra... i mean Hi-Fi Rush was very cool, very good game btw, played it for an hour before bed, loving it so far. Forza... what to say, it looks gorgeous although no release date, Minecraft Legends is getting my interest too, Redfall I was already hyped for...... I was pleasantly surprised, having little expectations.
I like the format. So long as we have more of these each year and an E3 type event that looks forward a bit further that would be great. The no date for motorsport was disappointing, was expecting a firm date for everything at the show.
Underwhelming.
Forza is exactly what it should be. I’m happy with that but nothing to blow me away. It’s where we would expect a Forza game to be.
The shadow drop was interesting. That’s a tick from me.
Redfall, I suspect it’s multiplayer or nothing when devs say it’s solo player but best player multiplayer that’s usually a huge under statement! Xbox are increasing turning their back on solo player experiences. As the rest of the show case showed.
Waited a long time for that and yeah it was serviceable but not blockbuster. I hope they have a lot more up their sleeve and oven ready…. I suspect they don’t.
@Kaloudz redfall looks amazing (until yesterday it was a pass for me) but Hi-fi Rush stole the show!!
@WrestleVessel I will add Jedi fallen order and guardians of the Galaxy onto the recommendations
Pros: Great presentation format, Gameplay, Redfall finally looks great, Hi-Fi Rush Shadow drop, good to get dates on 4/5 games.
Cons: Forza slipped from Spring 2023? Personally not a fan of MMO, PvP and driving sims, Still have a lot of questions about Redfall.
@Kaloudz agree 100%. I also suck at the timing but the artstyle and the full vibe is just awesome
@Kaloudz metal: hellsinger. It was and easy pass for me
@Balta666 @Kaloudz Glad to see I am not alone on that one 😅! Tried Metal: Hellsinger, but it was too complex for me, lol.
And about the show, Redfall looks great! Before the show, it was "meh", but now I am interested.
Glad to have the MP options, but if it can be played solo, I will be delighted with a focused campaign.
Still not feeling Redfall, I just cant get past the fortnite art direction. Show was fantastic though, Minecraft Legends looks great and Hi Fi looks a lot like JSRF, cant wait to try it.
I still have no clue what Red Fall is and what it is supposed to be. Thank the heavens it will be on Gamepass
@BrilliantBill I believe the main mode is single player narrative. You are alone with no AI character help. You can play co-op where other players take control of 1 of 4 characters. There can be duplicates.
No update on continued story progression from co-op. Meaning, you keep you character progression (and loot, I guess). However, if you and online players beat several areas, that progress stays with the host's game save only.
@theduckofdeath I am primarily a single player gamer and my friends have all been turned to the dark side (PS 😝😂). So I have to see if it can be enjoyed solo or kinda-sorta requires you to do it in a coop way.
And Still no State of Decay 3
I was expecting nothing out of it, I’ve got Hi-fi rush, a japanese rythm action game with great artstyle. (All the ingredients for my game of the year) Great way to make a believer out of me Xbox.
