Funny how everyone seems to agree when a developer says Series S is hardware is hard to develop, but when other devs says it is not a problem at all people don't talk about.
These are pointless complaints from people who don't know what optimization means.
Some of the devs on that list of Series S complainers have games released on Switch, so I don't buy it any talks of 'hardware limitations' with the Series S.
By the way, Baldurs Gate 3 is playable on the weaker than Series S Steam Deck, and developer are trying to get it upgraded to Verified by Valve.
Nope. Quick Resume alone screams Next-gen to me. The Xbox Series X and S are simply faster than any last-gen console.
I look at consoles the same way as PC. Most people don't buy GPUs because of a new game is coming out, they buy to get the best graphics and performance from the games they already play, and both Xbox Series X and S crush Xbox One on those categories with ease.
Also, if people look at Fligh Simulator and don't see next-gen there maybe your bar is way too high.
Forza Horizon 5 looks stunning, it looks beautiful on Xbox One too, but not even close to the level of detail on the Xbox Series X.
Gears 5 running at 120fps with those incredible graphics that only coalition seems to know how to achieve.
Starfield will be one of the largest games ever, an open-world RPG the size of a galaxy running at 4K.
@Tharsman I still think we'll gonna have a new Banjo game, just not from Rare, and I think activision's Toys for Bob(Crash 4, Spyro, Skylanders) will do it after the deal go through.
But yeah, those studios wanted to get in different projects, they didn't want to get stuck in their past, despite their past being great.
Ohhh noo, MS destroyed Rare. They allowed them to make a Pirate themed game with 30 million+ Players. Such a disaster.
The reason Rare don't develop their old IP anymore is not because MS, it is because they don't want to. That's why the new Battletoads was made by Dalala and Perfect Dark is being made by The Initiative and Crystal Dynamics.
There is no "MS destroyed them" Microsoft gave them freedom to work on their knew project called Sea of Thieves that is a huge success for the company.
Sega would be a great fit, Yakuza titles feel at home on Xbox.
Thunderful would be amazing too, such an amazing dev and publisher, The Gunk, Wavetale, Planet of Lana.
There is also some people on the comment who want Microsoft to be blocked from acquiring studios and publisher under the fake concern with the industry, this concern of them couldn't be more apart from the thruth.
They concern is that Xbox will do do PlayStation the same thing they have been doing to Xbox for years, buying their way into the console market with know outrage of those new knights of the gama industry. When Sony pays for games to be out of Game Pass, or out of Xbox entirely those people don't think it is bad for the industry.I haven't seen all the outrage when FF7R was announce as a PS exclusive and after that FF16.
All those people care about is PlayStation, stop the fake industry concern, you guys just can't stand the idea of Microsoft having games previously multiplatform to become exclusive.
Ohh, and about that, FF15 was on Xbox, FF16 isn't, so cut the crap of Bethesda previously multiplatform IPs becoming Xbox exclusive.
@LordFunkalot to me it was a 7/10 experience. My only real issue was disconnections from the server at random moments, that really bothered me, because ot was frequent, at least once by session(that's the only game that had this issue). What saved that from being a bigger issue was the autosave the worked well amd I never lost progress in one of those disconnections. But other than that, gameplay wise it was a good experience, difficulty spiked at some points as the game was clearly designed for co-op, but nothing impossible to overcome, had fun shooting the vampires.
I still want to try other characters (played as Devinder), and Co-op at some point too.
Currently playing Redfall on Xbox, doing all side missions of Burial Point before moving forward with the story. Also on Xbox playing Quantum Break for the second time making different choices for the complete experience.
I read it like "I prefer the old model because people will buy the game not knowing what we will deliver, and if it is bad we still have earned $30". Sign a deal, make money of it, them make public critcism about the service. That's not looking good at all for them.
@Fenbops I think the game theme brought innovation enough on its own. With a bunch of games on that style always themed around Zombies, having a game use another type of enemy feels refreshing. Also, when I talk about innovation I'm including the ability of a studio to risk creating something different from what they usually do, adventuring into creating new experiences, I value that.
Funny that same people who destroy devs over failed innovation are the ones who later complain about games being "more of the same".
That kind of behavior is the reason why lots of devs play safe and release countless remasters and remakes, because innovation is punished by players with mocking and disrespect, and that coming from people that doesn't even have the decency to play the damn game before commenting and then go on twitter bash the developers because they "read a review" or "saw a video" and that is enough for them to feel entitled to it. Gaming community is currently full of sick people.
I think if EU approves, Microsoft will move forward despite the UK decision. Maybe they will even remove xcloud from UK and move on if that is the CMA issue.
@Cherip-the-Ripper Because Redfall is a good and fun game. It has some technical issues, but its way far off what people are telling around. I guess those people (myself included) decided to play the game instead of taking reviews for granted and ended up enjoying the title.
I don't think everyone who voted for Redfall is trolling, I voted for it myself, and with 9 hours into the game I'm actually having fun, and it's not only because it is on game pass as I intent to get a physical copy as well. I understand some people might get pissed off by some problems, but it all comes up as experience in the end. I haven't experienced AI issues as often as people have, it was really ocasional, only once if I recall correctly, so I have no reason to hate on the game based on other people problems. To me it is being a fun and good experience overall.
I'm with more than 5 hours in the game so far. The game have issues, I can't deny that, but I'm having a good time playing it. Gameplay is fun and story is nice. I'm enjoying secondary missions too, but now I'll start focusing on the main story more.
@TheArtfulDodger besides minecraft I've mentioned Age of Empires, Hi-Fi Rush, Flight Simulator and Pentiment. All new and old ips made by Microsoft devs, and all of them to great score and reception.
Also, Minecraft was a game before MS acquire Mojang, but the game I've mentioned, Minecraft Legends was created by Xbox Game Studios, since this is a post-acquisition title.
@NEStalgia 4 million is quite a milestone for niche game. Ghostwire is a FPS with powers/magic and a little bit of horror, so it is not comparable to COD at all.
Also, there is the New IP / Old IP thing. COD is known for years now, took time to reach the levels they are today, Ghostwire is a new IP.
@Meehanuk_1987 I don't think there is a problem to release games like pentiment on Xbox. The game is great, by the way. They can make games that use the hardware power but they don't need to be creatively constrained by that. Make stylized games, make 2D games, make realistic games.
The problem is that there is always an excuse when subject is Xbox.
Pentiment (but it is 2d)
Flight Sim (but it is a simulator, doesn't count)
Age of Empires (nobody cares)
Last year xbox was criticized because they didn't had a first party AAA title. Sony, so far only released horizon DLC and I don't see the same effort of people calling them out.
Problem is that people always move the goal post. Everything Xbox do is wrong, but if another company do the same is fine, people give it a pass.
I'm sure people will invent a reason so Hi-Fi Rush, Minecraft Legends and Ghostwire doesn't count. Because that is always the case.
Hi-Fi Rush a critically acclaimed succes that had battle again the PS timed-exclusive Forspoken at the timeframe. Then Minecraft Legends in April, with Ghostwire a little earlier. Sony did a Horizon DLC. but still people are here talking how Xbox hasn't released anything good.
@TheArtfulDodger No, that is not the whole picture.
PlayStation higher sales can't be pinned down only to exclusives. Just look at every year PS Store best selling titles at the end of year, it is a top 10 of multiplatform titles. Top 3 Always Call of Duty, FIFA and GTA in no particular order.
Exclusive sells to a small portion of console players, and it is not the sole reason for a console success.
Phil is right. Even if Xbox made 10 consecutive 10/10 games it would not change a thing. As people will not throw away their libraries to move to another platform.
TLoU, Uncharted, God of War are good games, but Microsoft don't have to follow sony styles of games. If Microsoft decided to make games the same style sony does why bother to even get an Xbox? I would rather buy a playstation straight away. Nintendo do his own thing, PS do his own thing, but Xbox people want to just imitate PlayStation. Let them do their own thing too.
About someone who commented "You are Goliath not David", maybe it is good to remember Goliath was defeated by David in the end.
@S1ayeR74 Sure thing Xbox has some fault on it. But not everything can be blamed on then. CMA decision for example is out of Xbox control, nobody expected that block.
About people leaving Coalition I have a opinion about those kind of news. I think that is the kind of information that is not meant to reach players. People leave and join studios all the time. Did you know between the last of us 1 and 2 lots of important developers left ND? But that wasn't as much announced as it was with Xbox. Xbox is scrutinized over everything and things end up having more weight then it should. As we know, even with lots of important delevopers from ND leaving TLOU 2 was a huge success for Sony. That's because even if competent people leave other competent people will come. I think there are things that should not turn into news, as it doesn't affect at all the games we play and only end creating more distrust and doubt on players. In the end I just wish Xbox had a more positive community, that held them accountable when needed, but also that had the same energy when they do something good.
@Rob3008 Yes, there is. If Redfall wasn't an Xbox first party it would be so criticized for 30fps for example. But being first party it has to perform the best on their own platform.
@S1ayeR74 I never said id didn't meant anything, I've said that it means they failed you, not that the company as a whole is failing.
TLOU failed PC players, that doesn't mean PS as a whole is failing.
Also 'Redfall failed so we have no guarantee Starfield will be any good', again, if they were able to release good games (even if not for your taste, look at the scores) Why should we have be any doubt about Starfield over something that happened with Redfall? Two different studios, two different teams.
You can say that's because is another Bethesda game, but so is the critically and public acclaimed Hi-Fi Rush. So Why can't we expect Starfield will be as good as Hi-Fi Rush? It has to be as bad as Redfall?
Redfall deserves criticism: yes. But don't matter what Xbox will do, people always will get the worst of it. Refall could have been a 60fps master piece, people would find another thing to trash Xbox.
Also, Starfield might have shooting mechanics, but it is an RPG, it is not a shooter, sometimes people set themselves for disappointment and them blame the studios for it.
About 30fps for Starfield, different from what happened with Redfall that whole marketing was at 60fps, Todd Howard made no secret about that possibility, it is not like it would be a surprise. It doesn't need a rumor to say Starfield might be 30fps, Bethesda made that clear from the begining.
A game with the size map of Starfield I would not be expecting a 4K 60fps, maybe 1440p 60fps and 4K 30fps.
My point was not that Xbox don't deserve criticism, the point is that it looks like that is all Xbox community does.
Just look at Pure Xbox news home page. Good news with 20 or 30 comments, bad news with 100s, looks like some people are just waiting or even rooting for the console to fail (not talking about you specifically as you have your reasons to be upset about management, but Xbox community in general, twitter and all)
@S1ayeR74 The fact other games doesn't please you it is fine, but means only that. It doesn't mean Microsoft is doomed or that they don't release quality titles. Maybe they just didn't release anything that appeal for some people personally, but the quality is there, it is not because of a single game that it will change.
Sony messed up The last of us on PC and Days Gone (one of my personal favorites) wasn't well received either, but that doesn't mean Sony is or was in trouble because of that.
MS just recently was best publisher on Metacritic and to me it sounds unfair they receive far more criticism than others and no praise where it's due. It's like they're always bad, don't matter what they do.
I think it is funny that Xbox had Hi-Fi Rush, Minecraft Legends and Ghostwire Tokyo this year alone, but people seems to recall only Redfall, and how Xbox will be Done and bla bla bla. Xbox community is becoming more tiring than the Xbox issues.
You can bet if sony had release Hi-Fi Rush exclusive on PS5 thee PS community would be shouting from the rooftops to this date, making people know how great the game is.
The last of us is from 2013 and they still make a fuss about it. (And that is great, by the way)
Unfortunately Xbox community is only vocal when something bad happens, otherwise is radio silence.
I'm 2 hours into the game and can't wait to come back tonight. Weirdly enough I'm playing with default settings, had no problem with my gun play or camera on default settings, I'll check it out those settings anyway to see if something changes.
Always like that with Xbox. People invent news, Xbox has to clarify. I'm tired of it. The worst part? It seens Xbox community always buys it, just look at people here, negative news of Xbox have more than 200 comments, positive news don't come even close to that. Hi-Fi Rush was a hit on all platforms, and people still come saying this.
Honestly, Ghostwire is great. Played it through the end. Yes, there is some framerate drops, but it didn't affect my gameplay at all.
I wish people would stop caring so much for what technical sites say and just played the game to see how it feels.
Don't get me wrong, DF do a great job and I'm always watching their videos, but they are being technical, working with numbers and that is what I like in them. But the feeling of gameplay can only be felt by playing it, so play it and see for yourself if the framerate issues impact or not your gameplay or experience.
It was a great experience to me. Story was really good and the FPS magic combat with lots of hands seal are really fun to use, despite the framerate dropping ocasionally I haven't lose a battle or made a mistake because of it, so it didn't really affected my experience at all.
So, give it a chance for the game before coming to conclusions based on technical reviews, it is on game pass anyway, it is worth to try.
Let's hope frame pacing is solid, so we at least have a fluid experience. But that is a miss, for sure, should have 60fps for launch. I'll be trying it regardless, still hyped by the game.
"the only authentic, real game that has the FIFA name will be the best one available for gamers and football fans", enthusing that the FIFA name would remain "THE BEST"
Lol!!!!!! Good luck trying to surpass EA years of experience.
@theduckofdeath That's what I think too. Makes no sense to spend tons of money just for the right to have a game from square-enix. Just move on and let them there.
@themightyant I see that as natural. Those people were founders of tue studio, sold to microsoft to make some money, but wanted to stay independent, so they left to form a new studio.
I liked Judgement. It was different from the other entries but I kinda liked the direction they took for the spin-off. It didn't affect they main series so I found it was a great way to experiment without change what people already liked.

One thing that must count is also people who finished the campaign and moved on.

After finishing it I've moved to the next game, so there is that.

Good news with 20 or 30 comments, bad news with 100s, looks like some people are just waiting or even rooting for the console to fail (not talking about you specifically as you have your reasons to be upset about management, but Xbox community in general, twitter and all)
Re: Microsoft Says To Expect 'New Surprises And First-Looks' From Xbox Games Showcase 2023
Re: Microsoft Says To Expect 'New Surprises And First-Looks' From Xbox Games Showcase 2023
Re: Xbox Players Encouraged To Change Two Camera Settings In Redfall
I'm 2 hours into the game and can't wait to come back tonight. Weirdly enough I'm playing with default settings, had no problem with my gun play or camera on default settings, I'll check it out those settings anyway to see if something changes.
Re: Pick One: What Was Your Favourite Xbox Game Pass Game In April?
I've finished Ghostwire, loved the game!
I'm playing Minecraft Legends now and I'm enjoying it too. But ghostwire still #1 for me.
Re: Poll: Are You Still Excited For Redfall To Hit Xbox Game Pass Next Week?
Yes!! Would love to play it at 60fps, but will play at 30fps regardless. Game looks great!
Re: Xbox Exec Responds To Hi-Fi RUSH Rumour, Says The Game Was A 'Break Out Hit'
Re: Poll: What Do You Think Of Xbox's Minecraft Legends So Far?
It is amazing. I think it is on par with Minecraft Dungeons, despite different genres.
Re: Bethesda Introduces The Four Main Stars Of Redfall's Story Campaign
I was waiting for him. Devinder for me.
Re: Ghostwire: Tokyo's Xbox Version Described As 'Big Disappointment' In Digital Foundry Tech Review
Re: Xbox Players Encouraged To Change Multiple Settings In Ghostwire: Tokyo
Had no problems playing it so far. Playing with default settings on performance mode.
Re: Redfall Will Only Run At 30FPS When It Launches On Xbox Series X And S
Let's hope frame pacing is solid, so we at least have a fluid experience. But that is a miss, for sure, should have 60fps for launch. I'll be trying it regardless, still hyped by the game.
Re: FIFA Makes Way For 'EA Sports FC' With Major Reveal This Summer
"the only authentic, real game that has the FIFA name will be the best one available for gamers and football fans", enthusing that the FIFA name would remain "THE BEST"
Lol!!!!!! Good luck trying to surpass EA years of experience.
Re: New Rumour Weighs In On Difficulties Between Xbox And Square Enix
@theduckofdeath That's what I think too. Makes no sense to spend tons of money just for the right to have a game from square-enix. Just move on and let them there.
Re: Jim Ryan Fears 'Serious Damage' If Xbox Degrades Call Of Duty For PlayStation
Says the guy whose company just released a mess of a port on PC.
Re: New Rumour Weighs In On Difficulties Between Xbox And Square Enix
xbox at fault = Xbox don't wanna pay huge amounts of money for a port of Final Fantasy.
If that's the case, and I really think it is, Xbox os tottaly right.
Re: Developer Suggests Xbox Series S May Struggle To 'Keep Up' With AAA Game Demands
If Cavern of Mars can't run properly on Series S, it is definitely not the console problem.
Developers should learn to optimize their games.
Re: Xbox Misses Out On Yet Another Upcoming Square Enix Release
That's why I support Microsoft to acquire as many studios and publishers as they want. That's the only way for them to get games sometimes.
Re: Xbox Team Goes In-Depth On Three Upcoming Game Pass Releases
Planet of Lana and Lamplighters League for me
Re: Forza Horizon Veterans Working On 'Genre-Defining Franchise' With New AAA Studio
@themightyant I see that as natural. Those people were founders of tue studio, sold to microsoft to make some money, but wanted to stay independent, so they left to form a new studio.
Re: Talking Point: Did You Play Epic's Ill-Fated Gears Of War Spinoff On Xbox 360?
I liked Judgement. It was different from the other entries but I kinda liked the direction they took for the spin-off. It didn't affect they main series so I found it was a great way to experiment without change what people already liked.
