EA has today pulled back the curtain on the logo for EA Sports FC, which will be the new name for the FIFA series starting with this year's game. The brand will be debuting in football matches across the globe beginning this week.
For now, we don't know anything about the actual game, aside from the fact we'll be getting a major reveal in July. Instead, EA is using this opportunity to basically try and get us all used to the new name over the next few months.
Here's what the SVP & GM of EA Sports FC, Nick Wlodyka, had to say in a press release:
"This is where the story of EA SPORTS FC begins. We’re building on 30 years of leadership and history creating experiences that bring the global football community together, and continuing to take it into a fan-first future. EA SPORTS FC will be a symbol for the sport, a symbol of innovation and change, and we’re energized to show our fans more about the future in July."
It was back in May of 2022 that EA announced plans to drop the FIFA name, with a report suggesting the company wasn't willing to pay to license it any longer. This is also when the EA Sports FC brand was first announced.
Following this, FIFA president Gianni Infantino stated "the only authentic, real game that has the FIFA name will be the best one available for gamers and football fans", enthusing that the FIFA name would remain "THE BEST".
Looking forward to seeing what EA Sports FC has to offer on Xbox? Let us know down below.

Who the hell thought of that crap logo.
The F is way to short at the bottom and the C to closed.
Did someone get the crayons out for ten minutes during lunch break, pathetic logo.
Doesn’t even say FC.
Hopefully the game dies and it's the end of ea we can all live in hope or ea actually make a decent game not the same copy and paste game as every year and then slap a 65 price tag on it
It’s a rubbish name. It’s a rubbish logo.
EA Sports Football.
No need for the club at all. Makes no sense. They aren’t a club, the game isn’t a club.
@Sebatrox lol beat me to it by 22 seconds. I was typing it at the same time
@BBB the irony is the “Fifa” license is literally for the word fifa and the fifa World Cup. Not the teams, players or anything else. That license is held separately and EA still has it. So all the clubs players and balls etc will still be present.
Fifa seriously over played their hand.
@Kaloudz feefa lmao 🤣
Right because just the name "FIFA" makes it a better developed game... What a moron
@Sebatrox @Stocksy They can't just call it Football because of American Football
I haven't played Fifa in a long long time but just looking at the name and logo does make is seem like a cheaper product.
If it's still the same feel when you play it will be one thing but right now it's not looking as great.
Mind you i expect that the official Fifa game will be a drop in quality as well, they will just have a better logo.
Same FIFA game but with a new name, copy paste, change the 2022 for 2023 and it's done, charge 79$ .
Teaser's hard. We boutta feast in july 🔥🔥
@Kaloudz feefa lmaooo, you never fail to entertain kaloudz
It was $1 billion for four years.

Lol!!!!!! Good luck trying to surpass EA years of experience.
I'm glad I hate sportsball.
Bizarre Name choice.....let's see if it will still be just as crap as fifa always is gameplay wise...I imagine so
It wouldn't surprise me if 2K picked up the license and began putting out a yearly footie game. I can't imagine Konami doing so, given the disaster that was their last football game and the fact they don't seem to be particularly interested in developing many games nowadays.
Bad name choice and equally bad logo design.
@Sebatrox Well EA makes Madden Football (NFL). Konami doesn't. And lets be honest, Konami's old name was a LOT better lol!
What are they going to call Fifa legacy edition for the Switch now?
@Kaloudz genuinely that’s it. I think they’ve even announced some of the missing teams - are back. They had lost Juventus but I believe that is back. Premier league, european leagues etc all will be present. For years they didn’t have the champions league license but career/franchise/whatever you want to call it mode had a cup with the same structure and same teams but it was just called something similar: this will have a World Cup or a World Trophy or something just not a FIFA World Cup.
It’s bonkers that fifa thought they held any power. Ironically the fifa game won’t have most the real names or players as many of them are in exclusive deals with EA…. This new one that Fifa claim to be making.
EA SOCCER would be a better name.
I wonder more about when MS is gonna revive Microsoft International Soccer.
Don’t understand any of this to be honest. So FIFA don’t want EA to do the games any longer and so they’re going to be creating their own game called FIFA? Also like others have said, EA Sports FC is a stupid name and the logo sucks.
@Techno92LFC It's not that FIFA don't want them to it's because they raised the fee for the licence by a lot from the sounds of everything and FIFA thought they would pay it or there would be no game. When all the FIFA name gets them is the name itself and the World Cup everything else EA has licenced from the other individual leagues and continental governing bodies like UEFA as well as some individual teams. So overall very little will be removed from the games.
