I’m afraid to say our initial experience of Baldur’s Gate 3 online multiplayer has been a poor one on Xbox.
Over a 3 hr session we had many glitches including having to restart the game just to get a session started. On getting defeated my wife got booted to her own single player game. I had to invite her back in again. At one point her controller stopped allowing her to loot stuff. Combat on her side had been fairly glitchy too.
Some of this you could put down to our inexperience with the genre but a lot of it was straight issues with the game.
Generally compared to single player it was a less than ideal experience. Waiting for party members to take turns. Missing the character speak in cutscenes (despite listening in). It’s just not quite as good as playing solo.
We're considering playing split screen for a little bit to see if that helps. At least we’ll be in the same room. I chose online multiplayer for extra screen space but I think I’ll just end up playing the game solo eventually.
Other than that? Halo Infinite probably. Firefight is amazing! Just got my first perfection with top damage too. Love that mode so much.
Hopefully with enough tooling around Forge players will make their own campaign levels. People are already doing it we just the game types and UI so it doesn’t look like it’s in multiplayer.
There were some interesting admissions in the interview. I think Ske7ch was really open and honest. Especially about the Mark V shop inclusion.
@Jenkinss Kai was great easily the best part of the show.
The helmets from the show were leaked in Halo Infinite a while back so let’s hope players can unlock those for free and it’s not a paid for thing in the shop.
Clone Drone in the Danger Zone was a game I played a lot as a demo. I bought the full game and didn’t spend as much time with it.
Is a great little game though. I think it’s voxel based and you can slice of limbs off your enemies and likewise you too can lose pieces making it a fun roguelike.
Internet scalpers have really ruined the concept of limited edition consoles. The last limited edition console I got was the Halo 4 Xbox 360 slim. Not exactly pre-internet but it was something you could go to your local GAME and pick up.
Maybe I'm just salty because Xbox Series X|S launched during COVID when scalpers were at an all time high.
@Markatron84 it's a shame. They really moved away from "equal starts" which is the foundation of a good Halo multiplayer. Reach and 4 being the outliers with loadouts.
Personally I always felt like Bungie should have gone the way of Guild Wars 1 where you could create a PvP character who could buy equipment from a PvP only vendor. This character could not be used in PvE. PvE characters can still be used in PvP if they wanted. It mitigates some of the grind needed like powerful weapons locked behind raids or 100s of hours of content.
I don't blame anyone for playing Destiny 1 or 2 they've crafted a long journey for people and their guardians but as someone who couldn't care less about the PvE side of things it stopped appealing to me a long, long time ago.
It’s a real shame see Bungie end up this way. The reality though is this hasn’t been a sprint to infamy they’ve treated it like a marathon.
I didn’t mind Destiny and Destiny 2 early on but it never felt like a worthy successor to Halo where it mattered to me, the PvP. Creatively elsewhere the game is great but mechanically and systems-wise awful.
@HelloCraig I have to say I was resistant to the banished Narrows because I’m not big on their aesthetic but it may be the best of the bunch because of the extra areas they added on.
I’ve mostly had The Pit, Banished Lockout and Narrows.
@Ocat probably worth the wait actually. It’s already solid. Mods are here already and added via free DLC and the paid DLC will likely be cheaper. You might end up finding a definitive edition but the time you’re ready to play it.
I've loved my time with the game so far. One of the level was a bit challenges to 100% for me but I suppose it'd be boring if I could stomp through them without a challenge.
Used to love the LAN days of playing Halo 2 with my brother and friends. Headlong 2 vs. 3. Me and my friend vs my brother and friends. Sneaking around with a battle rifle while there's a banshee running a muck in the sky and a warthog with a gunner roaming around. Great times.
Had my original Xbox Live account “FIFA’d” back in 2007-8. Someone had linked my account to another EA account just so they could get some FUT packs or something. EA could do nothing to recover it.
When I came back to Xbox I made a new account and added MFA right away. There’s just no excuse these days.
@Trmn8r this was an issue in both Xbox and PS. Best part of beta launch day was plagued by a login issue which crashed the game out to the dashboard. I think EU didn’t really see any of the first day of the beta but in NA I got on in the evening.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 9-10)
@BBB I’ve played ranger and rogue myself. I’d like to give Bard a go too.
Problem is I’ve been through the initial ship starting area twice. Not sure I can do it again any time soon.

“The city is dead and there are barely any open buildings.”
Well there’s your problem! You got barley stuck in there!

Re: Free-To-Play FPS 'The Finals' Just Got A Surprise Launch On Xbox Series X|S
The beta was pretty fun. Not sure I have space for it in my line up at the moment. They’ve done a great job here I hope it has staying power.
Re: It's Finally Time! Baldur's Gate 3 Is Available Now For Xbox Series X|S
Okay. So I guess this is great. Time to play full price and possibly not finish it.
Re: Poll: How Would You Grade The Game Awards 2023?
I mean no Baldur’s Gate Xbox release date/10.
The “time to join the party” trailer announcing the physical release was such a tease.
Edit: I realize the game got shadow dropped. Thanks for the tip @Aidax89!
Re: New Extraction Shooter 'Hawked' Is Free To Try On Xbox This Weekend
I wouldn't mind playing an extraction shooter. There are hardly any on consoles.
Re: Two Games Announced For Xbox Game Pass At Day Of The Devs 2023
I hope Lightyear Frontier hits that release window. I've been looking forward to this one for a while.
Re: Xbox Rumours Continue To Circulate Ahead Of The Game Awards 2023
We got flour the rumor mill is running so much.
Re: Xbox Winter Demo Event 2023 Now Live, 20+ Games Available
Parcel Corps looks great but I recently played Rollerdrome and that made me dizzy so I might not be able to stomach this either.
Re: Firefight Makes An Absolutely Triumphant Return In Halo Infinite
@Fiendish-Beaver you should be able to do a custom game from tomorrow. I don't know if the difficulty will scale though.
Re: Firefight Makes An Absolutely Triumphant Return In Halo Infinite
@G1lbo I bet you would. I'm sorry that you're not able to do so. 343 really dropped the ball your split screen coop fans.
Re: Firefight Makes An Absolutely Triumphant Return In Halo Infinite
@G1lbo split screen coop campaign got canned but multiplayer it’s apparently a thing. Never tried it myself.
Re: Firefight Makes An Absolutely Triumphant Return In Halo Infinite
Really excited about this one. Hopefully a PVE experience will be a nice change than PVP all the time.
The maps look fun too.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 2-3)
For me it’s Minecraft. My wife and I are feeling nostalgic. We started a new world yesterday which is providing some interesting things to see.
I’m currently working on terraforming and building out the overworld around our house. While she goes out and mines.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 2-3)
@Kraven congrats on the anniversary!
Re: Halo Infinite Firefight: King Of The Hill Arrives Soon, New Trailer Teased
Yea, I expected it’d be out Tuesday. The week after is too close to the Christmas break.
Looking forward to finally giving firefight a go. I’ve not tried the “unofficial “ variants on custom game browser.

@Jenkinss Kai was great easily the best part of the show.

Re: The UK's Best Tea Brand Has Created A New Xbox Controller
I love a Yorkshire Tea but I wouldn’t stump that much for a controller.

Re: 'Halo 3 Refueled' Maps Added To Standard Matchmaking In Halo Infinite
@Sakai it can be great until the spawn camping gets out of hand.

Re: Roundup: Here's What The Critics Are Saying About SteamWorld Build
One of ours is really into both city building and base defence games so this will hopefully be right up their alley.
They’ll be playing it on their switch but I’ll give it a look on my Xbox Series X.
Re: These Are The Top-Selling Games In The Xbox Black Friday Sale 2023
@Tharsman I guess it’d be nice to have to variety but I can’t talk, I mostly play Halo.
Re: Talking Point: What Kind Of Reveals Are You Hoping To See At The Game Awards 2023?
Dave the Diver for Xbox and PS5 ideally.

I’ve mostly had The Pit, Banished Lockout and Narrows.
Re: Video: Halo 3 Comparison Shows Difference Between Original Maps & Infinite Versions
Not played much Halo this week with Thanksgiving being a busy time but I’ve enjoyed the maps for most part. I think the AR/BR starts was a smart move.

Terminal was great fun as well.
Re: Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time Remake Hits 'Important Development Milestone' At Ubisoft
@GamingFan4Lyf Beat me to it. Well played.
Re: Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time Remake Hits 'Important Development Milestone' At Ubisoft
So long as they have the “no-no, that’s not how it happened” on death I’ll be happy.
Re: Xbox Will Apparently Show Up At The Game Awards 2023
My biggest hope for the game awards? Dave the Diver gets a Xbox & PS release date or, better yet, shadow drops.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 18-19)
For me it’ll be Halo Infinite for the Refuelled playlist. Teardown and Super Mario Wonder.
Re: Review: Teardown - A Slick And Addictive Slice Of Voxel Destruction
I love it so far. I like how some of the missions aren't a mindless smash and grab you have to plan it out.
The marina is probably my favorite level so far.
My only gripe is I wish you could turn off the motion bobbing. It makes me a little nauseous at times.
Re: Xbox's New FM24 Achievement Challenge Includes Real Paid Job As A Prize
I once met a chap in Wolverhampton GAME who really enjoyed Football Manager games. That’s my story.
Re: Baldur's Gate 3's Xbox Reveal Seems Imminent As Developer Shares New Update
Yea, I'm up for this. Been holding it off getting it on PS5 because I want to play it via online multiplayer with my wife.
Re: Starfield Fails To Make Shortlist For 'Game Of The Year' At The Game Awards 2023
Can't really argue with that list. It's solid. RE4 added a fair bit to the new version.
Starfield was great for a lot of folks. I didn't really vibe with it myself. Feels like a weird snub though. Geff what you playing at?
Re: Random: Xbox Fan Shows Ridiculously Dusty Series X Console After 3 Years Of Use
I just checked my Series X up in the office and it's clean as a whistle. That said outside dust is online part of the problem.
I saw a video the other day on cleaning PS4s. Those things are dust magnets.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 11-12)
Playing a bit of Halo Infinite and possibly Super Mario Wonder still. Played some Mario Kart 8 Deluxe last night as the last wave of DLC came out.

Re: 'The Finals' Had An Extremely Successful Beta Ahead Of Its Full Free-To-Play Launch On Xbox
@Stoned_Patrol also no support for button mapping. You really can’t launch a big FPS game on console with it.

Really wanted to enjoy the beta. Sadly I got motion sickness after a while. Loved the idea though and wish the game every success.
Re: Halo Infinite Dev Posts Lengthy Response To 'Increased' Bundle Prices
@DennisReynolds Legend of Zelda seems immune but Mario Kart World Tour has a pretty bad history with microtransactions.
