Tear of the Kingdom still. Think I’ll be playing this one for ages to come.

Started Diablo 4. My wife and I are lvl10 or 11. I’m playing Druid she’s playing Sorcerer.

Other than that not playing Halo Infinite but will be keeping an eye on HCS Dreamhack Dallas. Can’t believe Quadrant swept Optic in 3 games straight. There’s still today and tomorrow to go but that was pretty wow.

Re: Halo Infinite Season 4 Adds Infection Mode This June

ParsnipHero

Never understood the appeal of infection. They’ve done a interesting job of differentiating it from previous versions though.

I heard some leaks of Jeff Steitzers’ announcer voice lines for infection and we’re in for an absolute treat. That man is a legend.

I’m playing Aramagi 2 with my wife. It’s glitchy but there’s so much to like about this title. There needs to be more coop stealth games! I might give Unity a try if the servers are still up. Or Monaco.

Also playing BotW. Just got to Gerudo Town. I love this game so much but cooking is a chooooorrrrrrre.

@NintendoByNature I have to agree about AW1. Loved it back in the day. There’s still a charm about it but I’ve not found myself coming back as soon as I got to Grit in the campaign. I like Grit I think I just have more interesting games to play.

I’m not too disappointed I got it with the Switch Online voucher and TotK.

Re: Halo's Longtime Franchise Director Has Left Microsoft

ParsnipHero

@Moonglow we're not sure how much Microsoft is to blame but a pretty consistent theme coming from ex-343 staff is that higher ups were a big issue.

I think in general 343 are turning it around now. They definitely have some passionate team members who want to deliver. Even to people like Frank O'Connor, Bonnie Ross and Kiki Wolfkill I wish success in the future. I think they have passion and drive but I think that it would have been better served in a new IP not Halo.

Re: Redfall Raw Gameplay Shows More Authentic Look At Arkane's Xbox Shooter

ParsnipHero

I can see why this something people would enjoy but I can’t see myself playing it.

As for IGN gameplay quality there was the notorious Halo Infinite pre-launch gameplay on Streets where they walked along the map with a plasma pistol on charge up burning through energy. Nobody expects eSports level gameplay from IGN but it was a bit jarring.

Re: Talking Point: Xbox Series X|S Owners, How's Your Storage Looking In 2023?

ParsnipHero

I think I’m at about 80% but I’m considering doing a purge of stuff I’ve not played or played a whole ago.

I have maybe 5 good chunker games and the rest are indie titles with a couple AA titles thrown in for good measure.

I’m happy to delete and redownload something. Rocket League probably won’t get a reinstall any time soon but it always catches me out how big it is. I don’t know why I feel 25 GB is unjustifiable.

Actually no Sea of Thieves this week. Not sure if I said this last week but we’ve gone off it since the new season. Just not interested in the keep your head on a swivel world events.

I am still playing Halo Infinite. Up to lvl60 in the season 3 pass.

Also playing Pirate Outlaws. If you love Slay the Spire this might scratch that itch.

Finally I started Breath of the Wild for the first time in 5 years. Not sure if I’ll stick with it. My wife has been playing Immortals Fenyx Rising so I wanted to play the game that clearly inspired it.

Re: Diablo 4 Could Be Shaping Up As Another 2023 GOTY Contender

ParsnipHero

My wife and I played this a fair bit over the weekend. We played a fair bit of Diablo 3 over the years. Definitely feels like a solid evolution of the series.

I'm sure this is because it was the beta but the steam wore out around Sunday evening. We'd got our first choice classes (Druid & Sorcerer) to 25 the night before and then started up a second choice classes (Necromancer and Rogue) but didn't get much further than 15. My wife preferred Sorcerer over Rogue (which she played D3 Demon Hunter style). I enjoyed both Druid and Necromancer. The game makes you feel really powerful, Werebear is an incredible experience. I played corpse explosion Necro which was powerful but a little basic.

Good game but we're not sure it's a day one for us. It likely will be, we could do with another game to play other than Sea of Thieves.

Playing the open beta of Diablo 4. The queue times are just disgusting but the game once you get in is solid. My wife loved Diablo 3 and I played it a fair bit over the years. We’ll probably buy the game when it comes out.

Other than that going to login to Sea of Thieves for community day rewards.

Might play a little Halo Infinite too.

Edit: I’ve also been playing Storyteller on Switch. I’d prefer it on Xbox but here we are.

Re: Halo Infinite's Free Limited Time 20-Tier Event Pass Starts Today

@InterceptorAlpha BTB is in a pretty good place right now. Right now there's 2 playlists for the mode.

Granted there could be more maps but Oasis is a strong map. Definitely the right direction for BTB. It's wide open but has protection from vehicles like the wasp. It's not the typical MOBA maps that 343 had before.

Plus the campaign variant weapons and equipment are just amazing in BTB Social. It just feels like how BTB should be. I'd honestly scrap the standard BTB at this point. I hear BTB Heavies might be on the way in the future!

Re: Sony Has 'Sufficient' Time To Develop Call Of Duty Alternatives, Says Microsoft

ParsnipHero

@Sam_TSM I don't play CoD but I assumed the gameplay was good enough and it was popular. It was the agreed game that a lot of FPS players would go to. Add on top of that the next generation of gamers probably saw their older siblings play and so they got into it when they could.

Add on top of that it's multiplatform (read: not necessarily crossplay) so you could talk to someone else about your experiences and they'd get it. You could also play it on whatever console or device you end up on. You can't say the same for Halo or Killzone.

There might be other factors that go into the mix but I'm not really that knowledgeable on the series.

Re: Halo Infinite's Free Limited Time 20-Tier Event Pass Starts Today

The game is a lot of fun but I done care for the new cosmetics. I really don’t care though. I have 100s of unlocks at this point.

Escalation FFA is great. I think I saw a AR/BR start team slayer mode and the “super” fiesta BTB mode added last week is pure joy. Those campaign weapons & abilities are so OP it’s great Halo.

Side note, if you dress up the chimera core in that orange/blue/silver armor coating you look like a Mach 5 razor.
