@DarthAmmii My job is to write about things that generate the most interest amongst Xbox fans - that's all we're trying to do here. But yes, that does include trudging through comments on Reddit 😅
@DarthAmmii I'm sorry you feel that way, but it's easily the most popular article on the site right now. And we're just basing it on past successes - there was a similar one for Hogwarts Legacy that got a lot of interest:
@Frmknst Technically there were announcements - Squirrel with a Gun got a release date, Tails of Iron 2 got a release date, etc.
But we used "reveals" in the headline today because that felt more appropriate. A gameplay walkthrough is a "reveal", for example, but not exactly an "announcement".
But I think maybe there's room for some kind of roundup that incorporates the game announcements we didn't get to mention during the week - such as Broken Sword in this case.
As I say, the feedback will definitely be taken into account!
@Pabpictu We have to pick and choose the news we post based on the engagement it will attract. Sadly, as much as we'd love to cover every individual release that gets announced for Xbox, history tells us that Pure Xbox readers don't really respond to that.
That's not to say we don't cover a lot of upcoming Xbox releases though - this week alone we've mentioned a couple of Halloween games, Stalker 2, Splitgate 2, Chernobylite 2, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, The Mortuary Assistant, Replaced, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, The Outer Worlds 2, Arena Breakout: Infinite, Copa City, Two Point Museum, Barkour, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, The Plucky Squire, Ambulance Life: A Paramedic Simulator and Black Myth: Wukong.
We DO try and take a varied approach to our coverage however, and we're also a small team in general, so that means some games and potential news stories unfortunately slip through the net.
I'd say if we're coming across as "biased" with certain titles or types of coverage, it's just because history tells us Pure Xbox members want to read about it. In this case, Fallout: London was a very popular topic on PX, so we're assuming there's interest in Skyblivion as well.
@Isca I still see very occasional reports where players find all their data has deleted, but it's nothing like as common as it used to be.
You can also turn on the cross-save feature so your saves get backed up just in case - you can literally download them to your PC if you want to, but obviously you'd require a PC version of BG3 to access them in an emergency.
I've been meaning to make a guide on how to use cross-saves most effectively between Xbox and PC so that if the worst DID happen, you'd most likely still be able to recover your game. Will get to it at some point!
@avoidercat I understand where you're coming from - all I can say is that from my perspective, the number one intent is to provide the most engaging content possible to our readers.
To be fully transparent about 7 Days To Die, we noticed a massive amount of interest (far beyond the PX comments section) to the announcement of an Xbox Series X|S version back in April.
We've covered it three times since then (all this month) and received a high level of engagement on each story - the kind of engagement that many new releases don't get on Pure Xbox.
However, the idea wasn't to copy and paste anything - July's first story was about a target date, yesterday's story was an FAQ about the launch (which had now been confirmed), and today's article was to provide some first impressions.
@avoidercat You can believe what you want to believe, but as I said before, I haven't had any contact with the PR for this game and don't even know who's handling it.
You might see something as an "empty" story, but we see how many views it gets - and therefore how much interest there is.
No PR company / publisher / developer has paid us to produce content on Pure Xbox.
@Divide_and_Wander You can't access the console versions of games sadly (unless you stream them via Xbox Cloud Gaming or Xbox Remote Play).
However, you can access every PC Game Pass title natively, and if you own any console games that support Xbox Play Anywhere, you can download the PC version at no extra charge.
@Cikajovazmaj Yeah, it was delayed about a month ago to September 20th.
We don't always cover delays like this when they're specific to PC Game Pass (simply because we don't get enough interest in them), but we always keep our 2024 Game Pass guide up to date:
Hello! With Call of Duty: MW3 now joining Xbox Game Pass, we've republished this "hands on" to give you an idea of what the single-player campaign is like
@Beetlebum91 In theory the answer is yes, although you might run into issues - the Xbox 360 store isn't in a great place these days and some things aren't working properly.
In terms of Hyperkin, these are not paid advertisements and we'd always make it very clear if they were.
That said, we are very keen to highlight when they remake old Xbox controllers like this, as we always see a lot of interest from PX readers when it happens. Of all the controllers we've written about, it's these classic ones that generate the most engagement.

Definitely still coming to Xbox.

@abe_hikura Yeah, it's the full game.

@DarthAmmii Yeah absolutely, no offense taken or anything like that. I get where you're coming from.
Ultimately I'm just happy to cater to whatever our audience wants.

Re: Two Big Xbox Franchises Are Getting New Mobile Games Very Soon
@Markatron84 LOVE that title.
I'll admit I'm not sure what the reasoning is (it predates my time at Hookshot Media), but I assume it's to help avoid spam.
Re: Xbox Reveals Full Daily Livestream Schedule For Gamescom 2024
@Frmknst There were a bunch of smaller-scale surprises last year (including Game Pass announcements).

@Markatron84 Nope, I'm just quoting SEGA 🤷♂️
"...allowing players to step into the shoes of a museum creator managing and displaying spectacular exhibits."

@VisitingComet1 Classics! 👌

@avoidercat You mean on Pure Xbox? Nobody's bought anything, I don't even know who's handling the game's PR.
We're giving it attention because this new version for Xbox is getting serious interest online at the moment.
Re: 7 Days To Die '1.0' Launches To Five-Star Xbox Reviews, Despite Series S Grumbles
@themightyant Usually if it's based on "stars", they stick to the five-point scale (like Windows Central, GamesRadar, etc).
The rest of us go for the 10-point scale but stay away from using a star rating

Re: Asus ROG Ally X Reviews Suggest It's The Best Xbox Handheld Yet
@Titntin I only refer to it as an Xbox handheld because it natively supports the Xbox app... it's the closest thing we have for now.
I wouldn't be surprised if Xbox's dedicated handheld is just a Windows PC with a custom UI slapped on top.
Re: Free Play Days: Try These Xbox Games For Free (July 25-28)
Article has been updated to reflect that Sand Land is a five-hour trial (we weren't aware of this beforehand!).

Re: Reliable Leaker 'Confirms' Xbox Game Pass Date For Call Of Duty: MW3
@themightyant I'm not sure of the specifics right now, but I assume it's why Diablo 4 hasn't on Xbox Cloud Gaming yet either.

@themightyant The lack of cloud will almost certainly be due to the deal Ubisoft made last year:
