Three more non-backwards compatible Xbox 360 games have appeared on sale today, about a week after Microsoft said it had provided the 'final update' relating to the console's impending store closure.
The three games in question aren't major titles by any means, but they're all heavily discounted at 90% off, so if you're gathering up a bunch of these 360 classics before the store goes down next week, they may be of interest to you.
Here are the three sale additions:
It's odd that these discounts have appeared now, but given that last week's update didn't add any new sales, it's clear that working with this aging storefront isn't proving to be the smoothest process. It won't be a problem for too much longer though, as on Monday, July 29th, the Xbox 360 marketplace will close for good.
If you've not been keeping up with the countdown to this Xbox 360 closure, it's important to remember that all of the original Xbox and Xbox 360 content available on the modern Xbox Store won't be going anywhere. All backwards compatible games will remain live and available to purchase - this upcoming store closure relates solely to non-backwards compatible games that are stuck on the old 360 marketplace.
Do you still have a list of 360 titles to pick up? Let us know your plans down below!

I’m still baffled how certain Sega games like Crazy Taxi 3, Afterburner and Space Channel 5 did not make the backwards compatibility's list. Very strange. Either way the closure of this 360 store is mainly why digital purchases is bad in my opinion. It will interesting to see how things look once we boot up the 360 after the store is closed.
If I buy xbox 360 stuff on web page store front (not on 360 console store) will I still be able to use the content when I eventually buy a 360 console? I don't want to drop money on stuff I can't use.
@Beetlebum91 In theory the answer is yes, although you might run into issues - the Xbox 360 store isn't in a great place these days and some things aren't working properly.
Take a look at this:

@FraserG yeah I remember that article, thank you. There's not a whole lot I won't digital wise and some of the stuff I can't get like the Vader Soul Calibur 4 dlc. Also worried because I read somewhere that 360 game updates aren't updates but considered as an item on the store so when the store goes down so do the updates for disk games. Miss the days everything was on the disk and the game was complete.
What a nice surprise! And here I was deciding whether or not to buy Samurai VS since I have yet to beat the first game. Done deal!
Shame can't even play these BC 😭 dishwasher were some my fave xbla games 😭😭 seen that there on steam though so hopefully one day can play em again 😂
Damn, I bought the Dishwasher games for full price two days ago thinking they wouldn't go on sale. Is there any way I can ask Xbox support to refund the difference between the full price and sale price?
Picked up Samurai Warriors 2, Xtreme Legends, Empires and Warriors Orochi 2 to add to my list. Not sure why I missed all these at the time.
*none of these are on sale btw. I splurged.
I’m considering the Crash games; Mind over Mutant and Crash of the Titans.
@Beetlebum91 not sure about that - since you can play a disc game (or even delisted digital game) that isn’t on the store and it updates just fine currently.
@K1LLEGAL I'll probably bite the bullet and do it anyway, most 360 games I played back in the day I never updated anyway and they played fine.
I hooked up the 360 last night to take a trip down memory lane. Bought Eternal Sonata (its $15!) It's so depressing to see how barebones the marketplace is now. So much lost. I'm glad at least that these are joining the sale, I'll grab them before the end. Never played them back in the day.
I was kind of hoping Quantum Theory would join the last sale, 30 is a bit much for a bad game.
Does anyone know if Avatar content that is included as DLC for a game will be removed, even if that title is backwards compatible?
I’m going to mod a 360 and have at it.
@Beetlebum91
Most game updates are <5mb and saved to the cache
However only about 5-6 updates can be saved there, with the oldest being over-written
Where updates are >5mb, they are typically saved to the hard drive as a "DLC" to the game file
For much larger updates, they are sometimes listed as mandatory update DLC in the Marketplace, or even disguised as free DLC with extra characters/levels/etc to encourage players to get the DLC
It is the latter larger files that are of concern as the DLC will be delisted next week
The small 5mb files are the ones that concern me more as there are only a few stored in the cache and are typically used to allow DLC to be identified by the game, so in theory if they are no longer downloaded, DLC will stop working
@GlasgowGuy I don't think I can be stuffed trying to chase up a 360 collection anymore thanks to that info you just gave me. It sounds like it would be a pain for 360 emulation in the future too to find all these files. Thanks for the explanation.
I just wish the bc program was expanded more. Licencing problems sure but how hard can it be to get a game like south park tower defence to go to bc.
Eternal Sonata. I wish you could have been made BC. I guess Namco Bandai didn't want to pay for Chopin's music again
@Beetlebum91 There's 0 reason they can't have BC games just for the Series and add a disclaimer to those titles. I don't buy the 'ran out of Publishers' or licensing issues, especially when you have sequels BC but not the originals, but having to make them run on Xbox Ones w/ VCR players built in and such? That makes more sense.
@shoeses yeah I think they must have quit because they didn't make as much money as they hoped. Also, delisting bc games so soon too is bizarre like Indiana Jones and Armed & Dangerous. Waited to long for a sale and now I can't buy them. There's some bc stuff that I've never seen on sale like the force unleashed dlc. I could go on and on, main point is they started the program great and then gave up it seems.
