It feels like a lot has happened since the release of Hogwarts Legacy for Xbox Series X|S (along with a bunch of other platforms) back in February, but Xbox One owners still haven't had a chance to get hands-on with the game just yet.
We were actually supposed to be playing it by now - it had a release date of April 4th until recently - but it has since been pushed back to May 5th, 2023. That's the big date as things stand for Xbox One owners.
The big question we have about this version is, how well will it run? Hogwarts Legacy is a beautiful and vast open world experience, so we can't imagine the base model (including Xbox One S) will be able to cope with it all that well. A low resolution at 30FPS with plenty of dips is the expectation... anything else would be a definite bonus.
Ultimately, the fact that Hogwarts Legacy will be available to players using a 10-year-old console is reason enough for celebration, and we're interested to know if you'll be picking the game up on day one for a last-gen system this May.

Hogwarts Legacy does not exist in a vacuum. There are important discussions being had about the views and opinions held by the creator of the Harry Potter universe – views and opinions which we do not agree with.

I won't be getting the xb1/ps4 version but I'm sure it will sell a ton of copies again. That game was a massive success.
Waiting for a sale on the S|X version.
I bought an XSX to play Hogwarts Legacy! Also bought the deluxe digital version so I could play on X1, but I've already completed first play through before it's even out on X1.
Can it even run on last gen. There was already loading screens on current machines. Cant imagine what the switch is gonna look like
I don't know. I might. I'll get the cheapest one on sale.
I'm dying to see this running natively on the Switch. I might even spring for it. I just know I'll love my ugly baby.
Already played it and not going to buy another copy. But definitely have a morbid interest in the performance on Switch:D
i got it for xsx and at first was blown away by how cool it was to be walking around hogwarts but I feel off it hard as it is a very standard open world game. It doesn't help that i'd just played cyberpunk leading into it which is a similar go to the dot on the map type game
I may buy a copy to support the developers and just donate the copy.
@Reptilio same experience for me. Hogwarts was perfect for a few hours, Hogsmeade too. But there is no immersion. Choices don't matter at all. The open world was just pitiful.
I think I will be curious to see how this runs on a PS4 pro or One X.
@KonstantTrouble donate to me please.
I was really looking forward to this but I've only got a Series S and cost of living crisis plus strikes has me in a rut for the foreseeable. I don't know how I'm going to pay for my Game Pass Ultimate when it runs out - and that's going to be right before Starfield. And I think the stack em method of putting on 3 years of Xbox gold and upgrading it won't work anymore now that they've removed the £1 game pass deal.
@Evilinsane
Do the rewards app stuff. Most are easy. Set it up for auto pick GPU reward, so takes less points. Think this site tells you how to get all the points for the month.
Hope your situation improves.
@Capt_T Thanks friend but if I've got spare time, I'm going to use it to either play games I want to or earn money another way rather than work towards getting five bucks off an xbox game.
I bought for my series X but it is completely unplayable which is especially annoying as it did play okay but since an update is a broken mess. Shame, and rather a waste of money.
@Evilinsane 5 or 10 mins a day will get you enough points to get ultimate GP every month. I know its not for everyone, but that's literally all it takes.
