@x3King84 The marketing in the UK is almost non existent compared to Switch and PlayStation. It’s bizarre to have a great product and not market it at all.
Sadly the future doesn’t look so great. The sales figures, Game Pass subs and game sales are falling too often. Thankfully, MS have pretty bottomless pockets so they can sustain the losses but even with Acti/Blizzard I just can’t see Game Pass subs growing enough. Even a nearly 7 years old system has over 89 million Switch online subscribers. PlayStation brand is so powerful that it could release a pile of crap and it would still sell - see PS Portal.
@Rockboy247 They didn’t but it seems it was going to just be DLC and then when the deal was closer it became a ‘full game.’ It will be the same people making the game next time. Should have just been DLC rather than pushed as a new game IMHO.
A 3 to 4 hour DLC takes up this much space? This is a nightmare start for Acti/Blizzard and Xbox. Really bad. Why not just release it as DLC and charge 30 quid? Zero way this is a 70 quid game. Really disappointing start. Let’s hope this isn’t a sign of things to come from Phil and Xbox.
He’s got some serious hard work to do in the coming months. MW3 really looks like being nothing more than DLC and that’s nit acceptable. Sounds like a rush job and a 4/10 from IGN suggests this is really hard start for Xbox and Acti Blizzard. Will we really see new games or will we just see a mass of games pushed onto Game Pass? I’d love to play some of the older classics but the start to this relationship doesn’t bode well.
I love my Xbox but really worry that this is all about money and nothing else.
A perk is a perk. It’s not part of your salary and should never be expected. It’s like bonuses - they are never guaranteed. Let’s not confuse perks with actual wages.
@Rmg0731 The prices going up are purely down to currency issues in those regions. It’s not as if they have hiked prices out of nowhere. It’s just that some are trying to paint a very different narrative.
The games looked great but what the hell happened to the video? It lagged and started freezing! Viewers dropped to below 500 very quickly!!! Whoever was in charge of all that needs firing!
@Moonglow A good game will benefit from GamePass. Bad games will suffer but not due to GamePass. GamePass hugely benefits games despite what haters say.
I’m loving the game because it’s both relaxing and stimulating in equal measure.
Xbox is not about consoles anymore. We all know the route Xbox is going and it’s about an ecosystem. I suspect the next Xbox will be the last console from them.
Streaming sticks, boxes and even more systems having GamePass is their future now.
Far too many people miss the point of Game Pass. It helps those with lower budgets enjoy loads of great games but also serves as a way to test games before you decide to buy or buy and Lies of P is a great example of how it works well! It won’t always work well but when it’s a great game, it helps rather than hinders.
There is a blinkeredness to just how brilliant Game Pass is!
Cannot wait! Nearly downloaded but sadly I’m away tonight…… but no matter as I will be playing on my Logitech G Cloud so whilst not the ideal place, it’s as good as any!!!! And I’ve got my USB C to HDMI cable with me so onto the big screen it goes!!!
@BaldBelper78 And now I’ve managed to put a negative spin on it as well! Doh! This is what being an Xbox owner does to you. It’s like being a Spurs fan - so close to greatness but always miles away really.
I love how when it comes to Xbox, people love to try and put a negative spin on things so quickly! Of course the likes of MW3 and Diablo IV aren’t coming just yet. Anyone who thought they were must have some seriously rose tinted glasses on! There will be a load more games to play. I never have gotten the hate for Game Pass tbh - It gives me access to a whole world of games and I still think it’s cracking value.
If Game Pass goes then Xbox goes. It would leave very little reason to be involved in the ecosystem sadly.
@FraserG It did that to many although I think the reaction over the email has been frankly hysterical and the idea that Xbox will close down Game Pass by 2027 and leave gaming is a really odd and bizarre viewpoint. Leaks happen but tbh there wasn’t that much that was surprising more just the sheer scale of it but I don’t see this being the end of Xbox in any way at all.
@Fiendish-Beaver exactly 💯!! In fact what you have just said is pretty much what I kept saying last night on Twxtter and ended up getting personal abuse over. Yet all I was saying was that a three year old email has been taken as being a defining moment and it is nothing of the sort. But as you say and I agree - telling the facts doesn’t always get the clickety clicks!
@Fiendish-Beaver I ignore Push Square. It’s got more trolls that the Billy Goats Gruff. A few days and all this will die down and we will all keep gaming regardless.
What I am interested in is whether Phil Spencer or Nintendo will comment directly on that email.
I would say that’s the thing that would have potential to do most damage but the other stuff is just standard and none of it a surprise.
@PixelDragon The email is newly 4 years old. Spencer getting over excited but the ‘long game’ comment may not sit well with Nintendo. Ultimately I don’t see the leaks as being bombshells - most of it is hardly a surprise but tomorrow the PR machine at Xbox will be in overdrive
@Pichuka97 Spencer has always talked about preservation but has never said it would be physical. When has he ever said that? Having access to those games is what he has talked about and that could be cloud etc. You are looking for something that just isn’t there.
Leaks are never accidental. They are PR stunts. It’s political. It crates hype and how many people are now searching Xbox and Series S? Thus won’t harm them at all.
I struggle! I used to game probably 5 to 10 hours a week before I picked up the Logitech G Cloud and now its more like 20 hours a week. When I read and hesr people say that Xbox doesn't have enough games, I think they must have worse vision than Stevie Wonder! There are a crazy amount of games already but as 2023 enters holiday season, the quality keeps on coming at pace. Keep ‘em coming I say!
@Cashews good thinking! I don’t really see this as next gen anymore though. A generational leap was 8 to 16 bit etc. we are now in the world of PC style increments,
Review spot on. Personally I think it’s worth a 10 and it’s only going to get better. The problem with Xbox right now is that far too many spend far too long looking for things to complain about.
The fps doesn’t concern me. Everything zips along just fine. The worlds are huge and I’m only ten hours in. Superb game and it will only get better. Bethesda have created a fabulous world with loads to explore and loads to learn. Elite game. How anyone gave this 7/10 is just bizarre. But it’s all about opinions. Back to it now!
Played one hour and so far it’s a ge take intro but it’s still bloody brilliant! Already feel immersed and it looks great. Can’t see why anyone is moaning tbh but then haters will hate
I’ll stick with my GCloud thanks! Cheaper and runs xCloud and remote play perfectly as well as great EMU. I ain’t paying 700 quid for a handheld device. Ever.

Re: Microsoft Employees Will Reportedly Lose 'Free Xbox Game Pass Ultimate'
People can say what they want about Phil Spencer but this is not the 1st time complaints have been raised and he had stepped in. It’s what leaders do.
Re: Microsoft Employees Will Reportedly Lose 'Free Xbox Game Pass Ultimate'
@liam @fraser They will now keep the free perk
Re: Microsoft Employees Will Reportedly Lose 'Free Xbox Game Pass Ultimate'
Decision has now been reversed. Confirmed via the Verge and Phil Spencer.

Re: Here's Everything That Was Revealed At The Xbox 'Partner Preview' October Event
Some great games to look forward to. Just a shame the video coverage was pants and seems to be running on a spectrum!
Re: Poll: How Would You Grade The Xbox 'Partner Preview' October Event?
The games looked great but what the hell happened to the video? It lagged and started freezing!
Viewers dropped to below 500 very quickly!!!
Whoever was in charge of all that needs firing!
Ruined it for the watcher!
Re: Xbox's Latest Advertising Campaign Features Starfield, Hellblade 2 & Others
Would be great if Xbox actually did any advertising at all in the UK. Never see much at all.

@GamingFan4Lyf Yeah I doubt it as well.
Re: Phil Spencer Comments On What It Means To Merge Activision Blizzard With Xbox First Party
@GamingFan4Lyf I assume that COd will only be a cloud game on Switch from that unless ……. Game Pass on Nintendo Switch?
Re: Phil Spencer Comments On What It Means To Merge Activision Blizzard With Xbox First Party
More players will get more games across more systems than ever before.
Today really is a great day to play and a great day for gamers everywhere!

Still cruising around space with Starfield along with bursts of the awesome Coccoon.

15 quid a month. That’s insane.
Will just wait for the games to reduce in price.
