Re: Rumour: Microsoft Employees 'Completely Confused' About New Xbox Strategy, Says Insider

BaldB3lper78

Xbox do need to make things clearer for everyone. You can’t go a week these days without the strategy flip flopping from one thing to the next.
Right now, the PS5 Pro reveal has given MS a chance at a free hit - either a native handheld at a price to make it essential, or the next Xbox is a PC/Console hybrid with Steam access at £600 and they then have a chance to really succeed.

Whether MS truly want Xbox to succeed in terms of hardware will ultimately dictate if any of this comes to pass but right now, Xbox has the chance to bury one in the back of the net.

Re: It's Been 365 Days Since One Of The Biggest Releases Of The Xbox Series X|S Era

BaldB3lper78

Such massive world and a huge game. I’ve started playing again from the start as tbh I found myself a bit lost!
But I really enjoy it and think it’s one of the most underrated games of the current generation.

So much to explore, great characters, guns, combats.

If this game had say the Star Wars name attached, it would have got higher scores and if it had released on PlayStation , it would have scored 9’s across the board.

Re: Reaction: Indiana Jones And The Great Circle's PS5 Announcement Marks A Bold Step For Xbox

BaldB3lper78

Nintendo will never for multi platform. I just can’t see a need for them to do so, although o do think they will struggle to sell the Switch 2 up against handheld PC’s. It’s USP is dwindling now so it’s gonna be a much harder sell this time around.

Xbox is essentially trying to put the pressure on Sony to make their games available on other platforms as well. Phil Spencer wants to be seen as the guy who made gaming available to everyone but he’s doing it for his ego not for gaming.

I suspect that the next gen Xbox we heard about from Sarah Bond will be canned fairly soon as well. Now that Phil has given the full direction of Xbox being to go fully multi platform, it doesn’t matter how powerful whatever she was talking about might be, because it will be pointless now.

I don’t think the announcement about it being canned will be all that far away either.

Re: Poll: How Would You Grade Gamescom Opening Night Live 2024?

BaldB3lper78

Overall it was pretty dire. The inability to even read an autocue was just embarrassing from start to finish.

The crowd appeared to be from Madame Tussauds. It was excruciating.

So many games just looked the same. What happened to creativity? It was an absolute yawn fest.

Indy looks amazing though and can’t wait to play that although obviously disappointed it’s going to PS5 and so soon as well.

Re: Gamescom Opening Night Live 2024: Schedule, Where To Watch And What To Expect

BaldB3lper78

I just wish Xbox would say ‘right, we are going full 3rd party and that’s the end of it.’ I’d rather it wasn’t the case but then we all know where we stand , instead of them constantly allowing leaks and rumours to carry on without addressing them.

As long as there is an Xbox device I will still have it, but it’s getting the stage where I don’t even know if it’s worth them doing that.

Re: Excitement Begins As Team Xbox Arrives In Germany For Gamescom

BaldB3lper78

Am sure there will be some exciting game news but overall I suspect we will see Xbox games going to PS5 being the biggest topic.

I will remain Team Xbox but do wonder if there is any point with them doing any more hardware. Essentially why would devs make games for a console that doesn’t sell well enough and will potentially have no reason left to buy it?

Just seems like we are treading water as we head toward the inevitable change from Xbox to Microsoft gaming. 😢

Re: Rumour Claims Indiana Jones Will Jump From Xbox To PS5 In Early 2025

BaldB3lper78

So we can buy every game on a PS5 other than Nintendo IP?

What will be the point of owning an Xbox at all?

Really saddens me what Phil Spencer have done. It won’t be long before it’s just Microsoft gaming and Xbox will be a distant memory along with SEGA when it comes to hardware.

Microsoft won’t worry though because they will make mega bucks and without hardware will make very little losses.

Maybe that’s the game they are playing? Because one thing to consider is that this will put more pressure into Sony - if they don’t replace their profit margins, have little competition , then they could be in huge financial trouble whilst Microsoft will be far from in any financial trouble.

So maybe it’s not as black and white as I thought……..

My quick review for those who want an update!

🎮 🎮Xbox #GamePassUltimate Mini Review MAFIA🎮🎮

Fans of #gta5 will love this older title now available on #XboxGamePass
As Tommy Angelo, you will join the forces of Don Salieri and look to defeat the opposition.

Set around the last 1920’s and 1930’s USA, you run drinks rackets, cigars and other contraband , all whilst popping a few bullets between the eyes of other ‘hoodlums.’

Visually it’s still looking fine and in some ways the slight ageing fits the game anyway. Voice acting is good and you feel really part of the story.

You will have to make some tough choices between life and death and not always your own.

A decent 8 hours will see through the main campaign and I highly recommend this one for its story, plot line and it’s well worth your time!

Graphics - 7/10
Sound - 8/10
Gameplay - 8/10
OVERALL - 8/10

Re: Rumour: Xbox To Announce 'Big' Game For PS5 Next Week

BaldB3lper78

Xbox will make another console and handheld PC type device and then just rely on other handheld PC systems with Xbox interfaces in the future.
Xbox can create the most powerful console in the world if they want but it still won’t sell. They don’t even market consoles in the UK.
I see adverts for Switch and that’s over 7 years old.

Cloud and 3rd party publishing is all Xbox want now.

Re: Rumour: Xbox Handheld System Will Sit Alongside 'A Series X Successor'

BaldB3lper78

So wouldn’t this just be a streaming device then? If it’s going to play games natively, then fair enough but are we really saying that we will have to spend £450 on a console and then another £300 or so for a handheld. We can already do that anyway with so many handheld devices.
If it has a dock that allows play on TV then maybe I would buy just the handheld but this seems yet another odd way for Xbox to go about things.

Re: Xbox Console Sales Struggling As Hardware Revenue Nosedives At Microsoft

BaldB3lper78

For Xbox, it is all about the ecosystem now and not hardware. They monthly active users shows that Xbox games still have a huge draw, the huge difference is where people play them. I do think we will still see another Xbox console but fully expect this to be an upgradable PC style model or possibly a high powered handheld hybrid with dock.

I think Xbox will also push to have Steam on the next console whatever form it takes. If they get that done and can bring the new machine in at a competitive price, they can certainly have better hardware sales, but overall, the reality is that hardware just isn’t the priority anymore.

As long as I can still access my back catalogue of games easily and still have some form of Xbox, then I see no reason for me personally to buy another console.

That said, my dream scenario is that Game Pass comes to the Nintendo Switch 2. Now that would be epic!

Re: Xbox Adds Nvidia GeForce Now Integration To Its Game Pages

BaldB3lper78

So @Liam_Doolan I have now been though every game via Xbox.com from the UK they should be playable on GeForce Now. Not ONE game offers the ability to launch with GeForce Now.
I’ve even set VPN to USA and still no different.
The only this way this works is by setting up Nvidia GeForce App and then choosing your game. You can’t even connect your Xbox account.
You have to sign in every time.

Whilst performance is brilliant at times on 4K rig, it’s a real faff and it’s disgraceful that Xbox basically wants you to spend another £20 to get Xcloud to be worth playing.

And performance through GeForce now is often unreliable.

Worth doing a deeper dive into this as it’s certainly not ‘integrated’ at all.

@FraserG

Re: Xbox Adds Nvidia GeForce Now Integration To Its Game Pages

BaldB3lper78

As long as the game is in your library - so if you have it in your library it is mostly fine but o have noticed that performance is very sketchy on certain games.
It’s crazy that to get a cloud gaming service that runs as well as Luna and even Stadia did, that we have to pay another £20 a month. Spencer and Xbox are taking the p1ss
