Re: Xbox & PlayStation Face 'Significant Risk' With Their Next Consoles, Predicts Research Firm

BaldB3lper78

It’s already Xbox who are and will continue to struggle in terms of a console. I have sold my Xbox Series X and now have a PS5 but still have my GPU sub and use the cloud via my GTech Cloud. It runs at 1080p but it never stutters so it does what I need it to.

I heavily suspect that Xbox will focus on the handheld market anyway with an Xbox 1st party handheld but will also allow numerous 3rd party handhelds as well with Xbox OS.

For Xbox, it will be about the number of active players and that will include PS5 and what comes next.

Nintendo is a strange one. If the next Switch is just a minor upgrade, I would be surprised if it gets anywhere close the current models success.

PlayStation will lead the way still , Nintendo as well and Xbox in terms of hardware will be a very distant 3rd. That said, in terms of money made , Xbox will potentially obliterate the competition with their games on every other system.

Re: Xbox Apparently Thinks Making Hellblade 2 Exclusive Was 'A Mistake'

BaldB3lper78

I still have an GPU sub but just play through my Gcloud on the TV and sold my Xbox for a PS5 for my physical games.
Xbox are literally going 3rd party and will make their own streaming handhelds and there will be 3 party ones as well.

Essentially, my G Cloud is my Xbox now. But I just have no reason for my Xbox itself really.

It’s sad and I do get why they are going all in on cloud and multi format, but zero exclusives will only reduce console sales for Xbox next gen. They will be worse than this.

I love Xbox but the just think they are going away from what their core gamers really want.

Re: Review: Indiana Jones And The Great Circle (Xbox) - A MachineGames Misfire

It is quite odd how in the preview , Pure Xbox said this was going to be a cracker and any worries were layed to rest.

It does seem weird to say that and then do a review that says the preview was basically a pile of rubbish. The two just don’t correlate or make sense at all.

I suspect looking at Pure Xbox numbers , maybe they see an end coming for the site as happened before.

It just doesn’t add up. All seems very fishy. Pushing the drive to the Push Square site as they make more money from that clearly.

I think even Fraser said not long ago that they focus more on Game Pass articles now because it gets more clicks.

Re: Xbox Has A Quiet Night As Golden Joystick 2024 Winners Are Revealed

@BacklogBrad I really doubt that. Nadella is in charge. Spencer just pops up to say what he is told to say. Nadella wants Microsoft Gaming not Xbox. I have argued for a long time that is not the case but it seems to be becoming even more obvious who is pulling all the strings. Spencer is a dead duck. Nothing more than a puppet.

Re: Xbox Has A Quiet Night As Golden Joystick 2024 Winners Are Revealed

BaldB3lper78

@BacklogBrad because eventually Xbox won’t be a box and all games will be on other platforms. Phil keeps saying they will make more consoles but that needs to come from Nadella who is in full control now and he clearly wants a 3rd party publishing future, not an Xbox future. Spencer and Bond are not even close to being in charge any more.

Re: Xbox Has A Quiet Night As Golden Joystick 2024 Winners Are Revealed

BaldB3lper78

Xbox is just throwing in the towel on hardware. I have often argued that the cloud and streaming on all devices options are good but if it’s at the cost of a console , who is going to make games for Xbox? And if they don’t make them, they might now allow them to be streamed and the whole thing unravels very quickly.

I am not jumping ship yet by any means but if things continue it looks as bad as they do for Xbox , I will have little choice.

Re: Xbox Has A Quiet Night As Golden Joystick 2024 Winners Are Revealed

BaldB3lper78

How can Xbox win when it hardly has any 1st party titles to win with anymore.
I keep telling myself that Xbox won’t go full on 3rd party but as each day gets more bad news about Xbox, it just seems that it is starting to become in inevitable and once that happens , 3rd parties won’t have an Xbox to make games for and that will be that.

Can anyone give me some glimmers of hope?

Re: Site News: Where's Our Stalker 2 Review?

BaldB3lper78

@themightyant These devs really do need to stop pushing out games when they are not ready. It’s getting ridiculous and is just an insult to gamers. You don’t make people drive a car that has no brakes!
Devs are getting complacent and very lazy and just thinking - let’s push this out and then fix it later.

It’s become a disease in gaming and must stop.

Re: Phil Spencer Explains Why 'This Is An Xbox' Will Be Beneficial To Console Owners

BaldB3lper78

The way I look it now @FraserG is that I have a series X which I love. But I also can play games on my iPad, Logitech GCloud when I’m on holiday without taking the whole console and with just lives, I just see this as meaning more people on many diverse budgets can access brilliant games.

Of course cloud and internet in the UK is still not the best, with apps- that Xbox are fine with may I add - like better Xcloud and also GCloud now runs cloud on the Xbox app in 1080p, things are vastly better and will get better.

I totally get what it’s controversial but the way I see it is, is that I can game more than ever before as an Xbox gamer mainly.

I actually see a huge and bright figure for Xbox and it will be a case of the best experience will be on Xbox hardware but if you want to play with a more restricted budget, Xbox will allow you to do so and then some.

Re: Reaction: Like It Or Not, Xbox Has Gone Full Throttle On Multiplatform

BaldB3lper78

@ButterySmooth30FPS Stadia actually ran really well. Never had any issues with it but then no one played it……
That said, 1080p is now being added to cloud at last so that’s well overdue.

I love taking my Xbox with me anywhere and by my Xbox I mean my IPad and Logitech G Cloud. And it’s brilliant to game anywhere.

Xbox has a future, just not the one many wanted. But I don’t think they will suffer anything like Stadia at all.

We will still have an Xbox hardware option and then that’s who want it have it, those that don’t have the budget can game some brilliant games at a very reasonable price indeed.

Any losers in this?

Hardly.

Re: Reaction: Like It Or Not, Xbox Has Gone Full Throttle On Multiplatform

BaldB3lper78

@kezelpaso Good article and it is great that beyond the hype and hate of social media, that we have a well reasoned piece about Xbox and the future.
I know and understand, myself included to a degree , that in an ideal world we would love for Xbox to stay with its exclusives and look after us Xbox players who have invested so much.

But things change so fast in technology and it’s clear that hardware wise, Xbox has taken a new route overall, but I don’t believe it is one that mean they are conceding anything.

I play much of my Xbox games on my iPad or Logitech GCloud now. It’s convenient but I still love playing on my Series X as well when the TV is free just for me.

Game Pass is incredible value for money - I have games more at the age of 46 through Xbox and Game Pass than ever before. I love the accessibility and volume of games it brings me. Love it.

Xbox can still give is a console and even with lower sales numbers, Game Pass and games on other platforms mean that we can see even better games comes either from Xbox game studios or to Game Pass. And that is fine by me.

If every screen is an Xbox - who actually loses anything? The reality is that for gamers, they get a bigger world of games to play at any time, in many places.

Re: Xbox Fans Ponder What 'Largest Technical Leap' Means For The Series X Successor

BaldB3lper78

I will definitely get an Xbox handheld which seems to be inevitable.

As for a huge leap, I just don’t see that and let’s not forget that was said at a time when Xbox was announcing games moving multi platform. It came across as a desperate statement at the time and it still sounds that way now.

Also Bond, Booty and Spencer have even less control anyway now as Nadella has pretty much taken centre stage with Xbox as he presses ahead with moving it all to Microsoft Gaming.

Cloud and streaming is what they want and with games we own being tested via cloud soon, Xbox is basically heading toward Stadia land.

I guess we may see a hybrid but with rumours now - only today - that Halo is going to PS and PC lock stock and barrel- it is clearer than ever that Microsoft Gaming will be the name in the future.

Nadella is in full control now. Anything Spencer or Booty say may as well be taken with a massive pinch of salt.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 9-10)

BaldB3lper78

Still enjoying BO6 but actually playing a lot of efootball. Might not be graphically the best football game but am really enjoying it and the online games are more fun than EAFC and better matched.
I’ve not bought EA2025 as have been ill with bi polar since March and skint.
Remember fellas - don’t bottle it up. Talk to someone. X
