Thanks for the outline. I’ll toggle between the Performance and Performance RT modes for the first couple of races then settle on one of them. I’m guessing the Performance RT mode will be my preference but shall see next week.

Damn, that’s a nice looking controller. Im tempted but I already have 5 controllers (4 for my XBOX and 1 for my PC). Im going to try and refrain haha.

Gotham Knights and Forza for me. I’ll give Jusant a go, too. Cities Skylines 2 got delayed til Spring for XBOX so it’ll be a bit before I play that.

Ace Attorney has always been one of those, “I’ll buy and play it someday” games so I’m glad I’ll finally get to try it.

I didn’t even know Baulder’s Gate was a thing until after 3 released and no one would shut up about it lol. It looks like a great game but yeah, me and all my friends didn’t even know this franchise existed.

Ah, just bought it physically on PS5 as I finally snagged the system for the upcoming Spider-Man. If they announced the Xbox physical earlier I would’ve gotten it there. Doesn’t matter, I suppose lol.

Let’s go! Gotham Knights has been on my wishlist for a while now. Almost got it for $15-$20ish on sale but held off knowing there were others games I was prioritizing at the time.

Patient gamers win again. Excited to try it despite the 30fps cap due to forced raytracing.

Good review and I've enjoyed my time with the trial. It's a Forza Horizon clone, but a good one taking place in one of my favorite locations I've visited. Once you get past the cringy intro and get a hang of the controls, it's a ton of fun to explore and race around Oahu.

Also, is anyone noticing stuttering or frame-drops? I have a 120hz VRR display with my XBOX correctly set up, and in performance mode I'm noticing consistent frame drops. It's not enough to ruin the game but it is annoying. Just thought I'd mention it since I haven't seen others do so.

Starfield is great but Oblivion, Skyrim, and Fallout 3/4 are still much better imo.

For those having trouble finding it, go to the cross-gen bundle. Then hit “included in this bundle” at the top and then hit the Series X/S version (or the base XBOX version if you’re running that). The free trial should then show up.

I don’t know why it doesn’t show for the cross-gen bundle, the only version you can buy for the Series systems lol.

I’m not usually a graphics snob… but to me this feels like the bare minimum for a remake/remaster. They did say it’s “restored” but it’s pretty basic looking.

In a world where everything gets remade, this just came off as underwhelming but maybe I’m just the minority here. Guess it’s good these games will be on modern platforms, at least.

DLSS support might make it so I can hit 60fps on PC which would make me switch over to that. The HDR slider and contrast options would also be nice as the game has a pretty bland color palette for me in both HDR and SDR.

I have a Series X but this seems solid for Series S owners. If you have a TV with solid upscaling, then you’ll be getting a great image at 60fps with next-gen visuals.

I think it’s possible to enjoy the game at 30fps but, for the tech enthusiasts, also theorize if it could’ve managed 60fps. Seeing a lot people jump to conclusions lol.

Performance or performance raytracing for me. Just depends which of the two looks better to my eyes. Bring on October!

I heard they removed the story and eras from 2K23 and added nothing other than more monetization. Is that all true? If so this game would actually deserve to be review bombed lol

My guess is it’ll now be a close to, if not native, 1440p at 60fps. Seems more than fine for me given great visuals.

Glad to hear it runs super smoothly with little bugs at an upscaled 4K. 30fps isn't preferred but given the massive procedural-generated world and the visuals... I don't mind it.

I ended up being super busy the past couple of weeks and the time I did have to game, I ended up playing online titles with my buddies. Sad to say but I only beat the first world in Tinyken. It was super fun, but I’ll just have to get it on sale in the future when I clear a lot more of my backlog.

My Spider-Man edition PS5 is apparently coming this weekend, so I’ll be delving into the world of PlayStation before Starfield. Specifically Astro’s Playroom and Miles Morales since they’re both short but highly rated. Maybe I can squeeze another game in there… then Starfield should be out lol.

I don’t even plan to finish it. I just want to do whatever I want in space. That’s what happened with me in Breath of the Wild as I just glided around doing random stuff and never beat that lol. Still had a blast. But we’ll see, maybe the main objective will really hook me.

I didn’t the show itself but the Age of Empires 4 shadow drop, 5 hour demo for The Crew MotorFest, and overall solid looking trailers give it a B to me.

Actually pretty cool. Given I like Starfield enough, I’ll probably snag the wrap for it. I was upset I couldn’t get my hands on the Halo Infinite edition console so this could be a nice alternative.

@UnusedBabyWipes Bringing back the backwards compatibility service would be amazing. I was so disappointed when they stopped bringing old games to the new generation.

Seems fair considering most people don’t use it and you can just buy them all on the new store anyways. Plus you can still easily redownload all the games previously purchased.

Gonna make some random engine name and enhancement up: “the new Pressure engine, which introduces more aggressive and competitive game flow for a more realistic feel”. Seems legit.

For real tho, I haven’t played an NHL game since NHL 2K10 on the Wii. I remember being excited for that as a kid since it supported Wii Motion Plus and all the modes from the other consoles. If I were to hop into an NHL game today, I’d just play NHL 23 on gamepass. The EA Play library basically ensures I never have to buy an EA Sport title again lol.

@iplaygamesnstuff I guess I’m the odd one out as I loved the Rally DLC. Felt more like an expansion of the base game with some gameplay twist for rally racing rather than something unnatural. To each their own.

That said, the Lego expansion in Horizon 4 is awesome.

The may not deviate much from each entry but I always enjoyed Far Cry. Looking forward to what the next title is like.

Damn, Tintken has been far in my backlog for months now. Guess I’ll push it to the front and play it this weekend. Heard it’s fantastic and also a short title, about 7-10 hours. I can definitely beat it before it leaves.

Thank goodness a popular group of people are finally publicizing this. It’s been like this since I got my console close to 2 years ago and most others online seem to have the same problem, too. Seemed like 95% or more people using Atmos experienced this. It was a really frustrating thing to diagnose and I ended up just using the standard sound in the end.

Atmos sounds good but the audio delay is just not worth the artful latency. Hopefully things finally get fixed.

I don’t have any reason to play cloud gaming with noticeable latency and fuzzier images when I’m someone who already likes tech and has a machine capable of much better picture quality with barely any latency at all.

I get the idea of using it for on-the-go gaming but I barely do that and when I do, my Switch is more than enough for that.

Shame it took this long to arrive. I just ordered the Spider-Man edition PS5 alongside a physical copy of Stray. I waited over a year to play this so I can wait another 3 weeks at this point lol.

With my collection of physical 360, One, and Series games… yeah I need a disc drive. I even occasionally use it as an UHD DVD player.

I bought Vanguard for $20 and MW2 for $50 last year as my first CoD games since the mid-360 era. I actually enjoyed Vanguard but MW2... it was difficult to even hop into a game due to the cluttered menu shoving battle passes, micro-transactions, and ads down your throat.

Plus they made some modes rotate in-and-out like gun game. I paid for this game, I shouldn't only have access to certain game modes "every now and then".

Huge fall from grace for me and I have zero interest in this new game, especially with their lack of gameplay shown. No wonder people are more excited about the servers working for the older titles than this new game.

Haven’t played the Ori games yet and never tried this Game Club things so maybe I’ll join in on this one. Is it okay to play Will of the Wisps before The Blind Forest?

Not much gaming for me Friday or Saturday as I’m with the family down the shore celebrating my moms birthday. No complaining.

But when I get back Sunday, I wanna knock out Sonic 3 & Knuckles in the Origins Collection. Once I do that I’ll have 100% of the achievements for that compilation. I might try to knockout A Short Hike as well.

If I still have time after them, I’ll finally start the campaign for Halo Infinite lol.

@AJM59 I heard great things about A Short Hike. The DS-looking visuals seem intriguing and I heard it’s a nice quick play through. I’ll probably knock it out this weekend!

Not live here in the US yet (at least for me) but they’ll probs show up within the next 24 hours. I also still haven’t received the new dashboard update, not that I care much about that lol.

Cool. I just pre-ordered the Spider-Man PS5 so this isn’t an issue for me now, but the more people that can play these games the better.
